OP posts:
RiffyWammal · 13/02/2014 09:27

Oh I like these two already. He's punching above his weight a bit!

NotNoah · 13/02/2014 09:35

Pretty good reason to leave South Africa! Shock

WanderingAway · 13/02/2014 11:52

I dont remember the original episode but when i watched this one i was sure that i had seen lee in town. I dont think they should go as the children dont seem to want to move.

Oh and btw burghead isnt outside inverness. It is nearly an hours drive from inverness. Sorry just a bugbear of mine.

meglet · 14/02/2014 09:33

watching.

Not sure how I'd feel if I emigrated, then my parents wanted to chase after me Hmm.

3storeylovesong · 14/02/2014 09:35

Nice grateful kids!!

Sparklingbrook · 14/02/2014 09:58

been watching this one. My only thought is the job thing sounds a bit precarious. If they do get the call could she be made redundant soon after?

Sparklingbrook · 14/02/2014 09:58

Could she not apply for other jobs?

PestoStormissimos · 14/02/2014 15:11

She needs to Sparkling, coz by saying they'll contact 'in the future' is a polite way of telling her they don't need her! Can't believe they wouldn't realise that Shock

Sparklingbrook · 14/02/2014 15:16

Glad it's not just me that thought that Pesto. i don't think the call is coming!

susiedaisy · 15/02/2014 11:12

Marking my place

Davros · 19/02/2014 09:48

Looks like everyone has git as bored with this as I have. Managed to watch most if this morning's episode, meh!

Sparklingbrook · 19/02/2014 09:49

Hi Davros DH is off work today and he is having a bit of a rant, but I have become immune I think. Grin

susiedaisy · 19/02/2014 09:53

Just catching the last bit if it

susiedaisy · 19/02/2014 09:54

He looks older than her

susiedaisy · 19/02/2014 09:54

They can both waffle

Sparklingbrook · 19/02/2014 09:56

No jobs, no house. Blimey.

susiedaisy · 19/02/2014 09:57

Think she will finish him off to be honest. He looks tired and subdued

Sparklingbrook · 19/02/2014 09:58

They are both a bit lacking in charisma.

susiedaisy · 19/02/2014 09:59

Yes they are. Wish they would so a more up to date catch up

Davros · 19/02/2014 11:07

And I think today's have been on a Revisited before or it was part of the original programme. I remember the "long lost" daughter being pregnant. I agree, he looks older than her and quite tired!

Hi Sparkling, I agree it is necessary to become immune to a ranting DH when WDU is on! As soon as mine's back is turned I try to catch up on it and as soon as my back is turned he's got F1 channel on!

BlueberryWoods · 19/02/2014 11:34

I'm finding these episodes a bit dull now. I would prefer a bit more detailed cost of living section (but realise the family involved would not want their finances detailed for the entire nation to see). What do things really cost in Oz? What do they have to pay for whereas we get it for free? How much is petrol and how much would you have to use the car? I've read recently that Sydney is the 10th(?) most expensive city in the world.

I find the fake 'pressure' annoying too. "They only have one week to make a decision that will change their lives forever". No they don't. "This decision is tearing the family apart".

Also, it seems years ago there was a shortage of certain workers in Oz and they got paid good wages. Now, there doesn't seem to as many vacancies (midwives seem to be in demand still though). Is it such a good move these day?
Oz has an obesity problem (4th behind USA, Mexico and NZ) - I found that surprising, not the impression you get from TV.

Sparklingbrook · 19/02/2014 11:43

Yy I agree Blueberry they almost follow a formula these latest episodes. I do want an update on the 'poor Brendan' lot though....

BlueberryWoods · 19/02/2014 11:59

'Poor Brendan' - oh, I don't think I saw that one. Just watched a clip of it - they were on Penguin Island. He appeared to be under a bit of family pressure. What did he vote in the end?

NotNoah · 20/02/2014 09:26

Anyone watching this mornings? Personally if one of my Children didn't want to come I wouldn't leave them.

Sparklingbrook · 20/02/2014 09:27

yep-I am watching. They are annoying me. The teen doesn't want to go, and all Mum is worrying about is 'a pool for Jakey'. Hmm
