Why did they show them houses they couldn't afford? Be realistic, and show them at least one property in their budget, even if it's awful. Alternatively, show them a rental property.

The cost of food always surprises me as they have the space and climate to grow and rear anything

the best way for the children to integrate and make friends is to go to school IMO.

And exactly how is she going to work full time, earn all this magical money AND home educate?

Home schooling. Flower therapy. Organic milk. Double barrelled surname. She just comes across as trying to hard to be an ideal of something she thinks is better than be run of the mill.
