I watched it on iplayer and thought it was rubbish.

Playing psychologist it all seemed a bit male fantasy cliché...he effectively has his cake and eats it, then the smug smile at the end just to top it off.

Unusually for a make writer, I don't think DN writes men well. Mind you, I am only basing this on this TV programme and the apalling Dexter in One Day.
