This is a thread for all lovers of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm. All welcome, newbies, regulars, lurkers. Let me entertain you with a festive song:

The 12 Days of Doctors Christmas
On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love sent to me
Twelve Mandy's fretting
Eleven Chris's whinging
Ten Jimmi's washing
Nine Heston's scripting
Eight Barry's peering
Seven Daniel's flirting
Six Zara's glaring
Five paaaa-tients!
Four sad Robs
Three pies for Al
Two Karens
And a tabard in a pear tree

Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

The apostrophe police will have a field day with that one ^

(Private note to Kev: go on.....show me your baubles! Xmas Grin)

One year my mother decided to get dd1 and ds B-a-B. Despite ds not really doing teddy bears. It was an easy thing for her to buy 'add-ons' for, I think. The shop in the Trafford centre is so busy, I nearly fainted from the heatGrin.

Needless to say, we didn't continue the obsession, although they did end up with football kits, a darth vader costume (that was quite cool actually), and skate boards. After nearly falling down the stares on one of the roller skates, I decided enough was enough. Grin

Raahh · 03/01/2014 19:21

BUT THEN....

she gave dd2 one for her birthday last year, because she bought it off my niece. It sings in an American accent

Grin
Raahh · 03/01/2014 19:22

stairs not stares!!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/01/2014 19:24

I put my foot down at letting her put noises in them. That is a step to far!

DD seemed to be given one just at the right age for it to become lodged in her psyche! She thinks the shop is the best place in the world!

cinnamongreyhound · 03/01/2014 20:12

I took mine in the summer with my tax rebate and my mum ended up paying! I let them get a bear, a noise and one outfit but no shoes mean mummy. Ds1 loves his and often carried it to school and I have to take it back after school and has spent money on another outfit. It just barks. Ds2's has become another teddy in his bed and it sings call me maybe. I quite enjoyed it apart from the teenage girls having a party who were prancing around the place Hmm

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 03/01/2014 20:27

My DCs have long hankered after Build A Bears. Then, about 18 months ago DD was invited to a BAB party, so she got one (it sings a strange American version of Happy Birthday, bloody awful). Anyway, DS didn't say too much but we knew he really wanted one, so this summer, DH took him on the day DD was doing her ballet show at the local theatre, he was chuffed to bits with his bright blue bear that sings the Star Wars theme.

Good day today, took the DCs to the local dry ski slope with a bunch of friends to do donutting, miraculously the rain held off for the hour (when we set off it was horizontal sleet and gale force winds).

cinnamongreyhound · 03/01/2014 20:31

We went for a walk in bright sunshine and it was dark clouds and thunder when we got back, missed the rain by a minute or two!!

Ventured to the new park this afternoon, it's fab but full or gobby kids with no supervision :( as I wrote that it changed kids to plod!!!!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 03/01/2014 20:31

Autocorrect changed it that is :)

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 03/01/2014 20:33

Haha, your computer knows you too well Cinnamon!

curlyclaz13 · 03/01/2014 21:05

I can't wait for Monday and normality ! today is mine and OH's 16 year anniversary so we went for lunch with ds as dinner our is a bit much to do before bedtime now ! was ok and ds had some of mine Smile The day ended a bit dramatically with ds falling off the bed with an almighty bang, OH was supposed to be getting him ready for a bath when it happened. He seems ok and is asleep now and I have only checked him three million times in an hour. I need a drink !

ClayDavis · 03/01/2014 21:31

Congratulations on the anniversary, curly. Shame about the dramatic ending though. Judging by MN I think most PFB and a number of PSBs have fallen off the bed at some point.

Keep an eye out but I'm sure he will be fine.

MsNobodyAgain · 03/01/2014 21:57

Happy anniversary curly.

Ouch re DS. I remember propping DD up on a kitchen worktop (Wtf was I thinking!) and she fell sideways and bashed her head on the work surface. Just keep checking. I am sure he will be fine.

My twins also fell off my bed in separate incidents.

I am a good mum, honest! Blush

Happy Anniversary Curly. And yes, my DS dived headfirst off the bed when he was around a year old. I was also only inches away from him last year when he fell and broke his wrist (aged 9) and I feel a bit guilty about that too.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/01/2014 23:12

Happy Anniversary Curly!

The first time I went out for a couple of hours leaving DH with baby DD he knocked something heavy off a side table onto her legs. The first time he left me alone with her in the evening she fell off the sofa.

MsNobodyAgain · 04/01/2014 09:44

Just read the spoilers for the week after next. There is a lot of Jimmi coming up. Should keep leezl happy Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 04/01/2014 11:14

Ahh! Forgot about the spoilers! Thanks for the tip MsN!

I have read them now and am concerned at the amount of Jimmi time, but even more concerned that Gobbyplod might be moving on. I am probably reading too much into it though, he loves Gobby to bits, doesn't he?

Raahh · 04/01/2014 14:50

I have just read the WORST NEWS EVER!Shock

massive over reaction

They are bringing back ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES!!

Grin
MsNobodyAgain · 04/01/2014 15:13

Hmm Why?

As much as I loved the early episodes of OFAH, I hated any episode done after they got rich. A comeback is just stupid. I shan't be watching. It is too shit even for me (and that's saying something!).

OP posts:
Raahh · 04/01/2014 15:39

I couldn't read past the headlines, MsN- such was my taumaGrin

Raahh · 04/01/2014 15:39

trauma- I'm so traumatised, I can't type.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 04/01/2014 16:28

I won't be watching that I don't think. I didn't mind it early on, but it went on far too long.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 04/01/2014 16:43

I want counselling paid for by the BBC for this.

I think I'll ring my GP now and ask him to refer me. Should be seen before Monday. Oh hang on, I don't live in Letherbridge.

I bet they make them poor again. It is the only way they would have anything to write. Actually, I thought the writer was dead?

cinnamongreyhound · 04/01/2014 16:55

Happy anniversary Curlyclaz13 and whoops! Sorry I'm a bit late but we had a power cut and I have rubbish mobile internet where I live. One of my minded children fell off my sofa Shock Blush to be fair he had started moving over the weekend and mum hadn't told me Hmm

I like ofah but I'm not a huge fan iyswim. My stepdad loves it and now he's retired watches every day despite seeing them a million times before. He used to know David Jason quite well in his younger days. We met him in ramsgate and he went over to have a chat.

toldmywrath · 04/01/2014 20:47

Breathe easy- apparently it's only a one off special for Comic Relief or something. Grin

toldmywrath · 04/01/2014 20:48

Oops Cinnamon I should've asked about your mindee- hope they're OK.
