This is a thread for all lovers of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm. All welcome, newbies, regulars, lurkers. Let me entertain you with a festive song:

The 12 Days of Doctors Christmas
On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love sent to me
Twelve Mandy's fretting
Eleven Chris's whinging
Ten Jimmi's washing
Nine Heston's scripting
Eight Barry's peering
Seven Daniel's flirting
Six Zara's glaring
Five paaaa-tients!
Four sad Robs
Three pies for Al
Two Karens
And a tabard in a pear tree

Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

The apostrophe police will have a field day with that one ^

(Private note to Kev: go on.....show me your baubles! Xmas Grin)

I'm probably here or in bed at 9 dh is off but that doesn't guarantee him my attention especially with super cling on baby.

cinnamongreyhound · 31/12/2013 08:45

We always stay up until midnight and watch the fireworks on BBC. Had a grumpy dh as I was on my phone on mn and fb last night so better not tonight! He always goes to bed as soon after midnight as he can get away with! My friend used to have a party every year when we were younger but it annoys me to pay to get into a pub that you am walk into for free every other night with nothing extra in it! My mum gets very drunk and miserable on nye so I'm trying to avoid her and she keeps asking what we're doing! My kids go to bed normal time and dh and I usually have a bottle of something fizzy. We then call parents and go to sleep!

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 31/12/2013 09:29

We've got a friend staying, will be staying in and watching telly. When the DCs were younger I didn't bother staying up till midnight, but now they like to so I feel obliged. Last year we were away in a holiday cottage which was lovely apart from the marathon game of monopoly which lasted from 5pm till 1am. As DH's friend is here to keep him company I may get away with an earlier night tonight.

I used to party with friends every NYE, those were the days. Never paid to get in a pub though, that wasn't done so much back then I don't think.

Happy new year you lot. Not long to wait now!

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 31/12/2013 20:18

I'm sitting with DD and DH watching a documentary about animals going places they shouldn't and it seems as though it's going to be a very, very long evening .

cinnamongreyhound · 31/12/2013 20:20

We're watching WSM final before kids go to bed :)

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 31/12/2013 20:34

WSM?

cinnamongreyhound · 31/12/2013 20:38

Worlds strongest man! Classic Christmas viewing in our house :)

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/12/2013 21:05

I'm watching celebrity 15-1! I loved that show.

Have shared a bottle of fizz and a Chinese takeaway (the joint of beef I was defrosting for this evening hadn't defrosted so that is now tomorrow's dinner). DH just gone to bed. I've started on the port.

I used to love WSM when I was a kid. Didn't know it was still on.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/12/2013 21:09

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was on today! I recorded it to watch when DD goes back to school.

cinnamongreyhound · 31/12/2013 21:10

It starts Boxing Day every night for heats and final on nye, it's been on channel 5 for the last few years.

My nan used to watch 15-1 didn't know there was a celebrity one.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/12/2013 21:10

Oh I'll look out for that next year.

OodToSeeTheBackOf2013 · 31/12/2013 21:11

Is that the one where they drag cars?

We are watching Wolverine. I'm ridiculously for of PMT today and crying at everything so this is a bit if relief. Also hips v sore and SPD playing up so will go to bed after the film and wedge myself in .

curlyclaz13 · 31/12/2013 21:11

Just watched 15-1 too and have a glass of port on the go. Nothing I want to watch on tv so might do a bit of cross stitch before bed. Wow I am really living it up tonight ! Grin

ClayDavis · 31/12/2013 21:11

I think my granddad was on 15-1 once. Not the celebrity version though. There's probably a video of it somewhere.

Am trying to workout what to watch tonight.

OodToSeeTheBackOf2013 · 31/12/2013 21:12

My Dad was once on 15-1 , he has a group pic up in the hall !

cinnamongreyhound · 31/12/2013 21:12

In the final they did a truck pull, farmers walk with 825 lb amounst others, finishing with the atlas stones.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/12/2013 21:13

I am still watching 15-1 as I paused it earlier.

Am impressed at your granddad, Clay!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/12/2013 21:14

Am impressed at your Dad too, Ood!

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 31/12/2013 21:15

Just stuck on WSM on +1, thanks. Haven't watched it for years but used to love it, not the same without Jon-Pall Sigmarrson though. Darts is our Christmas tradition now, but there's a break tonight

Raahh · 31/12/2013 22:00

Dh has to be at work at 5am.

So we've just seen the New Year in early....

And then ds came down to tell me he feel sick, and has a headache. Sad

Happy New Year.

I used to love world's strongest man. Xmas Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/12/2013 22:05

I have just realised it is only 10pm, so I need to slow down on the drinking otherwise I'll have to open another bottle and DH will roll his eyes in the morning.

I was very pleased to hear at the end of 15-1 that there is a new series of it starting in the New Year! It was the best quiz show ever.

Have been watching Alan Carr, but think I will switch to Graham Norton in ten minutes.

Raahh · 31/12/2013 22:16

i have had too much vodka- I treated myself, having slummed it with cheap cider for 6 months.

I may not make it to 12.
