BBC2, 8.30pm. Monica is back. Michel is back. Sadly, Greg is also back, but we can't have everything. This is my favourite Masterchef variant, so I am a happy bunny.

Well called Tee.

Cremolafoam · 02/12/2013 21:01

Hear hear tee. Bang on.Grin

There is something slightly sexy about Adams caramel spikes.Blush

SconeForAStroll · 02/12/2013 21:17

There is something slightly sexy about Adam full stop Crem. Xmas Grin

i am a sucker for dimples. Damn him. Damn his tiny little lopsided smile.

And his bloody amazing grasp of the fundamental necessity of chocolate.

Cremolafoam · 02/12/2013 21:21

HarkTEEHeraldAngelsSing · 02/12/2013 21:27

Oh yes. Sexy Adam. Phwaor.

I am probably old enough to be his mother.

That summer punch thing looked like it was covered in cuckoo spit, which may be authentically summery, but it's not appetising.

Also, how come it was Greg 'judging' - his opinion surely counts for shit compared to Michel, Monica and the proper critics.

LondonMother · 02/12/2013 22:20

It was stated that he was judging but as was entirely to be expected they didn't really let him make any decisions on his own. Monica and Michel did the real work, and quite right too.

Another Adam fan here, for both culinary and, ahem, other reasons.

DP and I are amused by deadpan Luke.

"I'm over the moon." < blank face >

"I'm totally gutted" < blank face >

Disappointingly, at the end he did show a glimmer of a smile. Hopefully mortal service will be resumed shortly.

PresidentServalan · 03/12/2013 09:00

Adam is hot! But I would definitely do Michel and I have a girl crush on Monica!

Jux · 03/12/2013 09:02

That's a crap format. Greg's critique is quite funny when he's just stuffing his gob standing about next to Monique or Michel, but seated in lone splendour like the Queen in the Parlour eating bread and honey? Noooooooooooooooooo. It's vile.

And boring.

Greg, really, we all know that without you the programme wouldn't be there, but sometimes those who pull the strings and throw the money about are best off not trying to be stars too. This is one of those times. Stop.

And to you nest of vipers over 'ere, none of the contestants are remotely phwoar, but most of them would cook a good dinner. IMO.

HarkTEEHeraldAngelsSing · 03/12/2013 10:20

Why is it a girl crush? Why isn't it just a crush?

ViviPru · 03/12/2013 13:24

So it seems they're being paired off into twos pitted against one another for the rest of the competition? I HATE that format. All 6 should compete equally against each other IMO.

herbaceous · 03/12/2013 13:48

I'm not sure... From what I gathered, next they go into 'professional kitchens', try to recreate the chefly dishes, then cook again for M&M, before elimination.

I agree - I hate the knock-out format, especially at this stage. And they always seem to pit two good people against each other, and two bad, which is even more unfair.

Pegfreak · 03/12/2013 14:05

I agree, it's very unfair.

Jux, are you saying Greg pays for MC to be made? I didn't know that. That's one hell of an expensive feeding frenzy lucky bugger .

HarkTEEHeraldAngelsSing · 03/12/2013 14:14

I thought maybe Greg owned the MC idea but my husband pointed out it's been going for decades.

I think they think we think he's just like us so we can relate. That may end with all the articles lately about how useless he is on the show.

worldgonecrazy · 03/12/2013 14:18

I am wondering if Adam is going to trip over himself and try and pull off something that doesn't work? He just seems a bit too obvious at the moment.

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 03/12/2013 15:24

We're you not around for Lloyd Grossman? It was very serious then, but the chefs were much more amateur than the amateur chefs we have in the amateur series.

HarkTEEHeraldAngelsSing · 03/12/2013 15:52

No, I wasn't living in the UK then Kitten.

I didn't even know Lloyd Grossman was a real person. Xmas Blush

Pegfreak · 03/12/2013 16:18

I have a vague recollection of the Lloyd Grossman one but I was just a young thing then and it seemed very boring.

Jux · 03/12/2013 16:22

MC died in its old form. Apparently, Greg the Grocer resurrected it in its new form; he is Mr MoneyMan of MasterChef.

I am grateful he brought it back, I like this new(ish now) format, I am happy to listen to Greg talking about Custard Cuddles or whatever strange new phrase he comes out with, I can cope with a small amount of lip smacking and close ups of shoving food in gobs, but now sat there like a king like just now. No. No no no no no.

Pegfreak · 03/12/2013 16:26

I agree, Jux. As much as I squirmed and couldn't help but comment at the close ups and faces and whatnot of Greg, I did laugh at the chocolate and bu''er cuddles comment Xmas Smile.

I suppose Greg's a small price to pay along with the license fee for the delight that is Masterchef.

HarkTEEHeraldAngelsSing · 03/12/2013 17:17

Ah, so I was right. I still think he needs to become a silent partner, but I am just glad it's on.

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 03/12/2013 17:36

Lol Tee - want to talk about Jeopardy?

HarkTEEHeraldAngelsSing · 03/12/2013 17:40

I haven't watched Jeopardy in centuries, so I don't think I can talk about it!

Jux · 03/12/2013 17:41

not sat there...... Is what I meant, but sometimes I miss the autocorrect, which I see earlier autocorrected Monica into Monique, for which I muchly apologise to her.
