BBC2, 8.30pm. Monica is back. Michel is back. Sadly, Greg is also back, but we can't have everything. This is my favourite Masterchef variant, so I am a happy bunny.

OP posts:
SconeForAStroll · 28/11/2013 20:56

I feel rather sorry for Jack. I think he may have over-reached himself. Maybe another couple of years down the line.

Nick out as well I think, the vanilla cream with the mussels...

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/11/2013 20:57

Hang on, was that Adam? Getting confused with names.

SconeForAStroll · 28/11/2013 20:58

2 Adams kitten. Both through just to tangle our brains!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/11/2013 20:59

Oh. Phew! Grin been a mad week in the evenings this week.

SconeForAStroll · 28/11/2013 21:02

Looks like Tee got dragged to the school fair then :o

NotAnotherPackedLunch · 28/11/2013 21:03

We've got Greg back centre stage to look forward to next week. Sad

SconeForAStroll · 28/11/2013 21:06

Oh goody. Slightly lingering spoon in mouth shots. Sex face rolled eyes about every pud.

NotAnotherPackedLunch · 28/11/2013 21:10

Thanks a lot scone.
Now I have those images in my mind before I've even watched it. Grin

catwithflowers · 28/11/2013 21:12

Adam H is fabulous. I would put money on his being offered a job at Le Gavroche. And as someone mentioned, they do a reasonably priced lunch menu. £54 per person including half a bottle of wine each. I am eating there next year so will report back!!!! Grin

SconeForAStroll · 28/11/2013 21:13

You're welcome :o

Gracelo · 29/11/2013 06:38

Isn't freeze drying also a dehydration? Talking about the rhubarb desert.
Adam H is in his own league in this series, isn't he? I'm not keen on chocolate usually but this looked great.

Jay Rayner looks how I imagine Sirius Black would have looked like if he had lived and Molly had fattened him up a bit.

MadameDefarge · 29/11/2013 06:47

Greg always looks to me like he would be cornering some random runner on set with offers of tidbits and stuff...unkind of me, I know.

Tee2072 · 29/11/2013 07:27

I did get dragged to the fair and I've got a meeting this morning, so I don't know when I'll get to watch.

WWAAAIIILLL...

So who made it through? No...don't tell me!

Tee2072 · 29/11/2013 17:05

Finally saw it.

OMG I want to crawl into the TV and eat Adam's food. It sounds amazing. He is deffo heading to the final.

Pegfreak · 30/11/2013 10:51

I am fascinated by the pommes Savoyarde. I don't think i want raisins in it though, do you think they are an intrinsic element ?

I made mine last night with just grated potato and finely sliced spring onions. They were lush. Grin

Adam is something else, isn't he. Can't see anyone else beating him.

I have to say if I saw dehydrated something or other on a menu I wouldn't fancy choosing it. Dehydrated rhubarb - does that mean the inevitable consequences are drier than usual?

Cremolafoam · 30/11/2013 12:20

Good to know pegGrin
I think I might do some with the turkey on Xmas day. Sort of potatoes in blankets.

Pegfreak · 30/11/2013 12:27

I was thinking I'd do them for Christmas too, Cremola! Grin

Jux · 30/11/2013 13:54

So was I!

Gracelo · 30/11/2013 13:55

I'm making the pommes savoyarde tomorrow to have with a goose. I bought a goose at Aldi but don't have enough space in the freezer to keep it until Christmas. I make it with pancetta and in a bigger pan because I don't have small ones and make one half with raisins. I will report back.

I think Adam is confident enough to know he doesn't need gimmicky stuff to stand out.

TemporaryAlias · 30/11/2013 19:11

name change test Grin

TemporaryAlias · 30/11/2013 19:15

asked about Adam's accent, I know his Dad through work.

He is ex forces and has lived all over the place. Family now live just outside Dundee, which you can just pick up in some of Adam's accent. Both parents are Scottish.

And he is definitely not a plant, just a very, very good chef, who everyone is very proud of. I hope he wins

SconeForAStroll · 30/11/2013 20:14

You know Adam's Dad?! Wow. Well, he is definitely my favourite, his presentation looks so effortless which is always the sign of a very talented mind.

and that little grin makes me wobble

Pegfreak · 01/12/2013 10:25

Thank you, Temporary Smile - I would not be at all offended if you were to drop into casual conversation with Adam's Dad that he, and everyone else, is right to be proud Grin and would they mind if I popped by next time their boy is home and making their tea - it's just a hop, skip and a jump from here Wink

Davros · 01/12/2013 11:39

We have been to Le Gavroche for set lunch, it was excellent and MRJ was there hovering about the kitchen. This was before he joined MC so he wasn't as famous.
There is a nice item about Monica on the last page of new Radio Times

Jux · 01/12/2013 12:28

TemporaryAlias, could you also mention that I could make myself free to pop up to Dundee - it's really not far from me, really NOT far - for a bit of Adam's home cooking; and that if he's ever in Devon I have a lovely big kitchen and a range cooker which he is welcome to use if I'm allowed to scoff er sample everything Wink

My boss took the whole department to Le Gavroche when it first opened. It was very wonderful.
