I'm still stupidly excited about the 'new' Troughton episodes, but just to add to the fun, Watch are showing some seriously classic episodes today from 2pm. Any else watching? And what are you looking forward to as we approach the anniversary episode and beyond?

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKaleds · 23/11/2013 21:36

That was hilarious!!!! Just had to rewind and watch it again. Grin

letsgotostonehenge · 23/11/2013 21:36

DidntBadWolfDragOn · 23/11/2013 21:36

Rose was just how The Moment manifested itself.

IWishYouWould · 23/11/2013 21:36

Summed up, tonight's episode was AWESOME!! DH nearly got lamped for making noise whilst it was on. I think that makes me the biggest Whovian in our house now!!Grin

Tee2072 · 23/11/2013 21:36

Yes, Rose is in the alternate universe with the other 10.

The Rose in this explained, she took it out of the Doctors mind.

"She is from your past. Or maybe your future. I get confused."

Or something similar was said.

SeaDevilscanPlay · 23/11/2013 21:36

It was the most amazing thing. Better than I expected in 100 ways.

I loved it all. The references to the previous doctors, like 'you've redecorated. Dont like it much!' and 'I dont want to go.

Loved Tom Baker coming back, shed a little tear to myself because although his hair is different, his face doesn't seemed to have aged. Well done them for keeping it under wraps.

The only thing I didn't like was Stacey as Queen Elizabeth. She just didn't fit IMO.

Greenmug · 23/11/2013 21:37

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVED it! :)

Pixel · 23/11/2013 21:37

Pixel, Tom Baker's Doctor makes a comment about revisiting old favourite (faces), so it's suggested that the older TB Doctor is actually another later regeneration of Matt Smith's doctor.

Ah you see I thought that was a little in-joke, what with the wink and all, meaning that everyone likes Tom Baker but Colin Baker some of the others not so much.

I'm afraid I didn't like Rose's character very much. I thought it was just a way to give Billie Piper a part in the special episode without having to actually find a way of writing Rose in yet again. The plot could have managed very well without her tbh.

GlaikitOfGallifrey · 23/11/2013 21:37

So only Matts Doctor knows the plan worked, because the doctors who came to save Gallifrey will forget because it isn't their time stream.

Theimpossiblegirl · 23/11/2013 21:37

Well that was lovely (wipes away a tear). :) Tardis Tardis Tardis

ItsBiggerOnTheInside · 23/11/2013 21:37

Yes, she's stuck in the parallel universe with her family and Tennant.

I liked her character too. Really good writing

Tweasels · 23/11/2013 21:38

Loved it, loved it, loved it Tardis

LeBearPolar · 23/11/2013 21:38

"Rose" here was simply the form the conscience of the box took - a way to get Billie Piper back without bringing the real Rose back from the parallel universe Grin

letsgotostonehenge · 23/11/2013 21:38

yes they kept that quiet didn't they sea devils!!

TheRaniOfYawn · 23/11/2013 21:38

Rose was just a personification of the weapon's conscience. She took that form from the Doctor's memories even though that Doctor hadn't yet meet Rose.

FrankelInFoal · 23/11/2013 21:38

This Rose was just the image the Moment chose to use to interact with John Hurt.

Jellykat · 23/11/2013 21:39

That was great! could've popped a quick K9 in there for a larf though Smile

RedToothBrush · 23/11/2013 21:39

The point is more that a later doctor had to contact Hartnell one way or another; either to tell them about the destruction of Gallifrey or to save Gallifrey.

Theorectically though, if Gallifrey survives, then the Timelords do, so any that live after the destruction of Gallifrey and timetravelled would have knowledge of the truth.

So they either are banned from timetravel or have to keep silence about the fact that they are Timelords from the future in order to protect Gallifrey... so you have lots of Timelords running around knowing that Gallifrey survives...

...oh fuck lets not even go there. Too frikkin complicated. Bad enough with 13 of one Timelord!

letsgotostonehenge · 23/11/2013 21:39

i thought they might have had captain jack in as well?

LeBearPolar · 23/11/2013 21:39

Queen Elizabeth was rubbish. Could they really not find someone better for the part? Miranda Richardson would've done a better job.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 23/11/2013 21:40

Ok, just thought I'd check Grin

letsgotostonehenge · 23/11/2013 21:40

miranda richardson would have been excellent lebear

MaryZygon · 23/11/2013 21:40

I am loving this Ecclestone/Hurt/McGann arguments on here.

I am going to watch again, and read this thread again, during the week with no cynical teenagers and no Wine

I'm sure I'll understand it then Grin

monicalewinski · 23/11/2013 21:41

LOVED IT!!!

Got a lump in my throat all over again when David Tenant did his "I don't want to go" line.

LeBearPolar · 23/11/2013 21:41

But Gallifrey is frozen in time, isn't it? So although it's survived, everyone on there is frozen?
