This is a thread for all fans of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm.

Welcome to regulars, lurkers and newbies. Please join in, more the merrier Smile

Look into my eyes, not around the eyes, don't look around the eyes, look into the eyes , you're under.

Welcome to the Mill. Here you are able to do impossible things.

  • want a home visit? No problem. A doctor will be at your home/place of work/random field/hospital bed in seconds.
  • have a mystery that needs solving? No problem. Heston and Mrs T will unrrrrrrrrravel it within 26 minutes.
  • bothered by continuity? A click of my fingers will stop you worrying about the minor issues such as where has Jimmi's OCD gone and what happened to Kevin's tattoo.

...3, 2, 1, you're back in the room. Please sign in at Reception.

Missed it earlier - I was in the pub. Sadly not drinking alcohol.

Alma has not aged well. Probably because she has been dead ten years.

Oh my God - Bev from Brookie. She looks the same! Why hasn't she aged?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 02/10/2013 14:43

I love Mrs T's tabard. Her outfits are superb. Every detail is spot on.

Gobby's hypochondria makes another appearance.

Zara must be kicking off the Austen plot with her Kindle.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 02/10/2013 14:55

Seriously, no one cared about Sam. Why are they even mentioning him? Will no one think of Freya (who?)?

curlyclaz13 · 02/10/2013 14:57

I remember cassa bevron ! The mothership had a similar thing with her first husband Blush she is also reading fifty shades Blush Blush

not enough wtf for me today and what happened to tbfe on reception ? that would have been entertaining Grin

fraidknot · 02/10/2013 15:00

Hi another lurker here. Followed doctors for years on and off depending on work etc.
Was drawn into posting as had to Google zara's random quote and it's from Emma by...you guessed it, Jane Austen! I've somehow never caught atheme week before, is Austen week likely to be a zara fantasy do you think?
Love reading all you guys thoughts on all the randomness. I don't know anyone who admits watching in real life, so nice to know there are more of you out there lol

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 02/10/2013 15:04

Missed todays. So I got Bev right, but Alma wrong then?

toldmywrath · 02/10/2013 15:13

Hello & thanks for the new thread MsNo -sorry for late arrival. I said aww to myself over your darling son's comment about heaven, bless him.
I thought that yesterday's & today's epsisodes were really good-have they got a new writer on board?
Also, I thought it was the house of hamster doom as well (the cow one)

OodAlpha · 02/10/2013 15:30

Is Cracker-Al in Austen week?

curlyclaz13 · 02/10/2013 15:58

ood not sure about cracker al, are there any village idiots in Austen ? Grin

MsNobodyAgain · 02/10/2013 15:59

Hello fraid Smile. We are a random bunch indeed, bit like the program.

I was just coming onto the thread to share my latest bit of spectacular parenting...I've just shattered DDs belief in Santa merely by doing a Zara (I raised an eyebrow when she asked me if magical reindeers were real).

That was enough to send her into floods of tears and she asked why I told her. FFS, she goes to secondary school next year. They will eat her alive if she goes in that naive!!

I cried too Blush

Forgot to tell you my cousin came round last night and she watches Doctors. She'd be great on here if only I admitted to MN in RL!

toldmywrath · 02/10/2013 16:06

What-you mean there are no magical reindeers? Sad

toldmywrath · 02/10/2013 16:07

I love Breaking Bad,too- DS1 bought box set for me & DH , but we're slow watchers so still on season2. It is by far & away the best telly ever imo.

Raahh · 02/10/2013 18:02

Right- so Zara reading Austen would make sense. And they definitely missed out on great comedy potential with TBFE on reception.

The Shakespeare week was a bit different wasn't it, as they weren't in character really, just all the shows were loosely based on a Shakespeare play -although the only one i remember was the Hamlet one, and Barry wearing his yellow trousers to try to woo Juuuuuuliaaaaa.

DD1 is just 7, and totally still believes I used to be one of Santa's helpers (this came from when ds was little, and he would come into my office at John Lewis, where one of my jobs was parceling things up for people who rang in.).

I told her I had to leave when I got too tall (at 4ft 8Grin).

She thinks her brother is going to become a 'helper' when he gets older. He is a) not very tall, and b)- his initials spell Elf GrinGrin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 02/10/2013 18:02

MsN You will be on Santa's naughty list this year. Shock

MsNobodyAgain · 03/10/2013 09:38

I know.

I'll be even more unpopular in February if she doesn't get to go to her first choice school. I've done all the open evenings and we want her to go to my old school. It's rated 'outstanding' by OFSTED, brill school but over-subscribed and we live too far away really.

One can but hope.

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 03/10/2013 09:40

Grin at the Elf initials.

On a different note, I am starting to believe I am the only person in the country that hasn't seen Breaking Bad.

OP posts:
AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/10/2013 09:43

I have no idea what Breaking Bad is.

I am gutted I didn't think of giving DD ELF initials. I could have done it, I just never thought of it. I feel I have missed a huge opportunity and let DD down. Was it planned, Raahh or was it a happy accident?

Raahh · 03/10/2013 10:10

Anne- it was kind of an accidentGrin as he had my surname when he was born (met dh when ds was 5 months old, so the only dad he has known/has) and then changed his name to dh's when we got married.

For a couple of years, we didn't even twig, until he came home from school one day with a Christmas hat he'd made- with ELF in big letters. All the other kids in his class thought this was cool, but he was only 6Grin

He suits itGrin

Re- the school MsN- I could have written your post. I want ds to go to my old school, is outstanding, sparkly new re-vamped 6th form, but we are not in the catchment, and although only a few miles away, not even the same council/LEA. In fact- that's my problem with the second choice too. The plus for the second school is most of his school friends will go there, but it wouldn't be my first choice. It's giving me a massive headache.

Raahh · 03/10/2013 13:38

I'm probably going to miss today.I have a thumping headache, and dd2 is in such a foul mood I don't think I can cope with the fallout if I switch off cbeebiesSad

I don't know about terrible twos, three seems to have turned her into a different childSad. Even dd1 wasn't this bad- and she BAD. Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/10/2013 13:40

Oh that means it was meant to be, Raahh! They are the coolest initials ever!

Only a couple of minutes until today's episode - I think we may hit the half-way point on the thread on this one! Shock

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/10/2013 13:42

Raahh - oh dear, that's a shame. Hope you feel better soon.

I hate to say this, but three is worse than two, and four is worse than three. Thank goodness DD is at school now because I at least get a short break from the backchat. I think it is a girl thing.

HoggyTruffle · 03/10/2013 13:42

Secondary school frenzy time here too. I must remember to actually fill in the application form instead of just talking about it. Grin

I will be printing out the Austen crib sheet on this thread so I can follow the plot in Austen week (what am I talking about, you can never follow the plot).

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/10/2013 13:46

Following the plot is cheating, Hoggy!

Oh dear, this is a two-parter. never as good sign.

Raahh · 03/10/2013 13:47

Anne yy to being a girl thing. Ds was so laid back as a toddler, I could take him anywhere. DD1 was therefore a shockGrin, and dd2, who was by far the easiest baby has slowly morphed into an independent stroppy divaGrin.
