"The backlash I got for suggesting that was unbelievable".

Care to expand on that? most of the posts still stand on that thread, so people can see for themselves. You are exaggerating and being emotive again Feenie.

Report
Feenie · 27/08/2013 11:46

Not really. As you say, the posts are there and anyone can read them and make up their own minds. Most of them. I made my point very clear on that thread.

Can I just add that whilst your great works helping people with Primary Education is laudable Feenie we are all adults and not in Primary Education ourselves, so we don't need policing. Not by you anyway.

MN is a self-monitoring site - members are encouraged to challenge politely anything they think isn't right, or can report them to MNHQ.

I replied nothing but politely to you and I was civil you seem to just want to pick at people that is ok if you feel you need to support people that you feel treated unfairly , but we also have the right to report you if we wish not that i will and we also have the right to ignore you which i will be doing,

Report
Feenie · 27/08/2013 11:54

If you think I have broken MN Talk guidelines, feel free to report.

I'm sorry that after my very careful explanations you still think I am picking, mrsjay. I think what you see as picking I would see as not agreeing with you and answering your points.

You seem to have very high expectations if you're disappointed with other users for referring to Lauren as he. It is an undeniable fact that Lauren was a he. Even Lauren wouldn't deny that. It isn't some unspoken thing she should be ashamed of.

I didn't say she would deny it. Again, I explained very carefully what my point was - her acknowledgement of her childhood in no way gives you carte blanche to refer to her as he. It's standard etiquette, not high expectations at all.

Feenie - Are you the self appointed MN political correctness police? Please wind your neck in. You ruined the last thread with your nitpicking and reporting. Fair enough if you disagree with an opinion then say so but why do you have to go on and on and derail the whole thread.

Report
Feenie · 27/08/2013 11:57

I think you need to chill on these expectations you seem to have on how we should all behave on MN. Most of us come on here for a laugh and to interact with other users in a fun manner.

Really? Have you seen any of MN's campaigns, SirRaymond?

Fair enough if you disagree with an opinion then say so but why do you have to go on and on and derail the whole thread.

Because people respond to my posts, and I respond to them. It's called a discussion. Presumably you would prefer it if I just didn't respond to posts addressed to me, so that you could have your own discussion the way you want it? Doesn't really work like that on a discussion board.

And there was me thinking this was a thread about CBB.

Report
Fairenuff · 27/08/2013 12:03

The whole point of BB (sleb or otherwise) is to judge and judge harshly. The contestants know this. They are set up. They know this too. They know they will be ridiculed, have their personal lives trashed, careers made or broken. They accept all that in exchange for fame. It's an agreed price.

The only ones who should be ashamed of themselves are the public that watch it. All of us included. Because the advertisers are aiming their wares at us and the programme is just a vehicle. If no-one watched it, they would stop making it.

But we all like to take the piss out of people who put themselves in the public eye. We know it's wrong but we enjoy it. It's part of the twisted world of celebrity.

Yes, Lauren is funny looking. Not because she's t-g necessarily but just because she is. People are going to comment on it and also say all sorts of horrible things about all of them. As they do about each other. It's human nature.

Now, "Shall I be the cat?" - cringe if you remember that classic cbb moment Blush

Anyway ... curiosity (and boredom) got the better of me last night and I watched an episode of Geordie Shore. OMG ShockShockShock.
Disgusting - their parents must all be so ashamed of them!!!
I think Carole is an emotionally unstable alcoholic, how pissed was she last night?
I have never liked Louis but he is growing on me - he makes me laugh.
Danielle - who?? Who cares!!!
Les and Janice (can't remember their real names) - meh!!
Ron - stupid stupid man, going on there to show what a nice bloke he really is but is just reinforcing the fact that he is an ignorant racist.
The rest of them are all fame hungry idiots but I still can't stop watching them!!!

My favorite quote so far has been SA " me and the other supermodels....."

Errr no.

The only person who would consider SA a supermodel is SA

Grin I said that as well.

I don't see Cindy Crawford and Kate Moss appearing on CBB do you?

Report

Agree I bet 'Kate' spat out her tea when she said "kate's lovely' as if she mixes with them Her catwalk karaoke was unwatchable

I'd like Louis to stop acting and be himself. I think he'd be much more interesting that his public persona.

Report
FannyMcNally · 27/08/2013 12:26

Carole wouldn't let the conversation drop re SA's lips. I wonder if she's as nasty in RL? Also Les and Janice are just that, do they have their own personalities or are we supposed to think of them as a TV couple? Both Janice and Carole look like the girls I used to be scared of at school! Janice's look when she realised it wasn't the public who had put her up for eviction was a killer.

Don't like Janice at all. Seems horrible.

I bloody love Abz. I loved him on the Big Reunion. He seems a very fragile wee soul, and the AS diagnosis makes sense. I hope he stays in a good while and doesn't get booted for being quiet. His rap poem was well good! I just want to look after him and make sure he gets back to his nice farm in one piece!

I don't think Bruce should be in there. He doesn't seem well. He was almost crying when it was revealed that Lauren said her nightmare housemate would be Les Battersby. And if I were a recovering alcoholic, I wouldn't be able to cope in such a booze-fuelled atmosphere.

I was quite excited about Screech, then I heard about his sex tape, Saved by the Smell. And the book he wrote accusing his fellow SBTB castmates of all sorts!

Lauren's breaking my heart a bit. She just doesn't seem completely 'with it' and that's no wonder, given everything she's been through. Though the hairbrush getting stuck in Danielle's hair was class! I thought that fringe was surely for the chop.

Courtney just seems like a wee girl. Did you see her without her make up on? She looked so young.

Les shouldn't be in there I agree He says he feels he can have a couple in there in a safe environment whereas imo there is no safe environment for an alcoholic Sad Same with Sophie. It is a true sign their recovery is not on track if they think its ok to drink while there as if it will be ok.

Wow massive xpost! Apologies for typos in previous post. I just can't get along with this non tangible keyboard!

I agree with everyone re: potential meltdowns.

So many fragile characters in there. Its quite sad really. We know top celebs dont do it and its because they already have the fame, notoriety and money. Where as now the only celebs that go in are (in the main) people who have suffered major set backs in their careers and are skint.

That said, I still watch it. [Blush]

Re Janice being bitchy about Louis - wonder if she'd mock him if he were in the room?
Carole is a bully. Louis is clearly fed up of her now.
SA is an absolute nightmare. Uses 'sweetheart' at the end of every passive aggressive comment in the same way MNers use the smile face!
I really like Danielle.
