Well, when I say almost what I mean is the 29th September in the US, and I think we were a week behind last series so early October - roll on the Autumn.

. One of the comments says that at the end Brodie says in Arabic "I am a muslim lost in this world..help me come clean again".

I CANNOT wait. I've missed Carrie so much. And Saul. Anyone sad enough to join me in the anticipation?

I am now watching The Graduate.

It's holding my attention Smile

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 06/10/2013 23:01

Boring Shock

BeckAndCall · 06/10/2013 23:01

Great episode! Can't believe Saul hung Carrie out to dry like that.......

Rollergirl1 · 06/10/2013 23:01

Not sure if people might perceive as spoiler or not but in the Homeland trailer don't you see Dana getting out Brodie's prayer mat and it looks like she's about to pray?

Ragwort · 06/10/2013 23:12

What happened with Saul and Carrie right at the end? My recording stopped just as she got into the restaurant Blush.

valiumredhead · 06/10/2013 23:23

Rag-soooooooo did mineAngry

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 06/10/2013 23:31

Carrie said "it was your fucking operation, with Brodie" (or words to that general effect) and stormed out after slamming the article on the table. Zillions of diners heard this top secret info...

Saul asked Cadaverous Man if he planted the article, he said no but thought it was a good idea.

Saul's hearing was televised (is that likely??) and he said about the operation to kill the 6 baddies but got no credit for it.

Saul sold carrie down the river whilst she watched on Tv and cried.

ethelb · 06/10/2013 23:32

She shouted at them and told them they were horrid.

I have been telling DP that saul is a bad bad man since last year. He says he cant be in in it because he is jewish Confused but how did HE avoid the bomb? Has he been asked that?

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 06/10/2013 23:35

Wasn't he at sea, Ethel?

GypsyFloss · 07/10/2013 06:18

Saul was handily supervising the at sea burial of Abu Nazir when the Langley bomb went off.

MakeHayIsAWhaleNow · 07/10/2013 07:59

I liked it - loads of wildly flapping threads to be speculated equally wildly about over the next few weeks.....I agree about Dana, I spy a baby terrorist.

and I have a secret thing for ginger-tops

diddl · 07/10/2013 08:18

I thought it was great.

And as for Saul "hanging Carrie out to dry"- I think that he protects her as much as he can, & I know that we're supposed to like her & sympathise, but jeez-an affair with a suspected terrorist-she's infuriating!

diddl · 07/10/2013 08:19

It's F Murray Abraham who was Salieri in Amadeus, isn't it?

valiumredhead · 07/10/2013 08:23

Diddl -it's getting quite hard to suspend belief tbh,Dh and I roll our eyes every episodeGrin

hattymattie · 07/10/2013 08:37

Yes it's Salieri. Have to say I'm very confused as I can't totally remember series 2 and I feel asleep towards the end so missed last couple of minutes - I think too much attention is obviously required. Confused

diddl · 07/10/2013 09:06

I'm still enjoying it, but didn't feel sorry for Carrie when Saul err, told the truth??!!

Maybe he'll turn into what he hated now that he's whatever he is of the CIA!-like Estes(?)

Nancy66 · 07/10/2013 09:32

I'm confused about where Salieri came from and who he works for. I remember him on a bus in the past series, now he seems to be a key character.

GypsyFloss · 07/10/2013 09:34

Carrie doesn't endear herself to me at all. I can't decide why Saul told the truth about her when she has been told to lie about Brodie to protect the CIA.

When Saul said to Dar Adul that he didn't like to think of her in the hearing on her own...was that concern for her or worry about what beans she might spill?

Nancy66 · 07/10/2013 09:42

I don't think Saul has just sold her out - he loves Carrie, I think he has a bigger plan.

GypsyFloss · 07/10/2013 09:53

I'm not convinced about his love for Carrie. I do believe he has a bigger plan and that she has a part to play in it. But I also think she is his pawn.

cocoleBOO · 07/10/2013 09:57

I've wanted to shake Carrie since the very first episode.

I think Sal was in charge of black ops type shenigans, very shady, but still CIA.

diddl · 07/10/2013 09:57

When Saul said the truth about Carrie-hadn't she already said she didn't think that Brody had done it?

So in effect made a fool of herself, so perhaps Saul was doing her a favour?

And of course protecting himself should she start saying about the deal with Brody.

But really, they knew Brody was a terrorist, made a deal with him, & then there's a bomb which he is implicated in, but also didn't help stop!

So he's either a useless asset, or knew & didn't say anything!

donnie · 07/10/2013 09:59

Dar Adul was responsible for recruiting Quinn (on Estes' orders) from black ops to assassinate Brodie the minute Abu Nasir was dead, but in the end Quinn reneged on the deal.

Saul has now replaced Estes as the top boy in the covert ops section of the CIA and sold Carrie down the river in order to cover up the fact that, having discovered that Brodie had turned and was Al Qa'eda, they used him as a double agent to nab Roya and also get Nasir. It cannot get out that they knew Brodie had tuned but promised him immunity if he helped them.

Who is the mole? It can only be Saul IMO. He is always conveniently absent when things kick off (like massive bombs), he failed a lie detector, he was able to provide the means of suicide to both Eileen thingy and also the Iraqi prisoner from early in series 1, and there was also that wierd little moment in series 1 when he was seen straightening a rug in his office - a muslim prayer mat methinks. He keeps Carrie close because he needs to know what she knows. You mark my words ladies!

GypsyFloss · 07/10/2013 10:06

I'm with Donnie :)

coffeeinbed · 07/10/2013 10:08

Saul also gave the terrorist woman the glasses so she killed herself.
