Well, when I say almost what I mean is the 29th September in the US, and I think we were a week behind last series so early October - roll on the Autumn.

. One of the comments says that at the end Brodie says in Arabic "I am a muslim lost in this world..help me come clean again".

I CANNOT wait. I've missed Carrie so much. And Saul. Anyone sad enough to join me in the anticipation?

I agree that all the signs point towards Saul being the mole - but that's why I can't believe he is.

where do I know Carrie's dad from? Trying to think what he's been in.

donnie · 07/10/2013 10:22

I think there is going to be an important development between Quinn and Carrie and that they will become closer and also isolated as they begin to realise Saul is the mole....

I wasn't convinced by the whole Dana slashing her wrists thing, plus the character of Jess (and her strange neck) is more and more superfluous to requirements IMO. Also introducing the granny seems silly and pointless.

Where is Brodie????????

RunFatGirlRun · 07/10/2013 10:41

I'm 100% behind Donnie re. Saul. I have said since the end of series 1 that Saul is the mole. I'm still going to fall off the sofa when it's finally revealed, mind you!

JohnnyUtah · 07/10/2013 10:49

I have also said from the start that Saul will turn out bad. Maybe he is the mole.

How will Carrie manage to get to know Quinn without shagging him as well as everyone else ?

BeckAndCall · 07/10/2013 10:51

donnie is definitely on to something there! We have wondered what Saul's secret could be since series 1.....

Is the F Murray Abrahams character the same covert ops guy we saw with Quinn in an episode last series? Or am I mixing up two different people?

Rollergirl1 · 07/10/2013 10:58

I've totally forgotten the bombing. Didn't they allude to Quinn setting Brody up with the bomb in his car?

BOF · 07/10/2013 11:08

Saul is good. That is all. It is one of the few certainties of this world.

donnie · 07/10/2013 11:32

BeckAndCall - yes, the same guy.

I feel a little worried that I am so obsessed with this Grin

cocoleBOO · 07/10/2013 11:46

I'm surprised it took this long for BOF to come on to stick up for Saul Grin.

AnyFucker · 07/10/2013 12:07

Saul is a cuddly teddy bear that arranges the killing of people He can't be bad.

coffeeinbed · 07/10/2013 12:20

there's must be something with his wife/girlfriend. I've been wondering about her ever since last season.

FriskyHenderson · 07/10/2013 12:28

Carrie's dad looks like the That'll Do Pig guy and the Back to the Future scientist.

I was underwhelmed by that, I'm not sure I'll keep watching tbh.

coffeeinbed · 07/10/2013 12:32

Hmmm, have have gone very family heavy - Carrie's dad, Jess's mum, Saul's wife/Gf.

Dana's new BF, even the brother got some lines to say, or at least look meaningful in the camera.

cocoleBOO · 07/10/2013 12:37

Carries dad is James Rebhorn, he's been in a lot of tv series but only one or two episodes. I think he looks like another actor but can't think who Confused.

guineapiglet · 07/10/2013 13:26

It was good to see Homeland back on Sundays anything but Downton but I can't help thinking it would have been better to wind it up properly in Series 1, it will now be really strung out until Brody is found ( v clever that we didn't see him in this episode, a plot device to keep us hanging on) and all is revealed.

I'm afraid I am also in the 'Saul is a baddie camp' really, probably because he is the only good guy in it ( apart from Carrie of course), and is always in the right place at the right time. I cannot believe AT ALL that she would have been presented to a Congress select committee and they would not have had prior knowledge about her mental health issues/treatments etc until Saul briefed them.

Will keep watching, but rather fearful it might be drawn out for the sake of it.

diddl · 07/10/2013 13:32

Yes-maybe the vest that he had on in the bunker should have worked!

BOF · 07/10/2013 14:55

There's an absolutely brilliant blog post about it here- highly recommended.

Ledkr · 07/10/2013 15:33

I loved it being back. I heard dh and dd1 whispering about not talking to mum for a bit!
All I need now is the following and i will be truly content

GypsyFloss · 07/10/2013 15:37

That is a brilliant blog BOF . My only queryis, do we really know that Brody knew nothing about the explosives in the car ?

cocoleBOO · 07/10/2013 15:37

Love that BOF.
I wonder if she was able to write that after watching it only once?

Hassled · 07/10/2013 16:21

F Murray Abrams - Salieri - Dar Adul. Thank you - was bugging me all night. I had Father Abrahams in my head and then realised he was the creepy Smurf man. Although, I would quite like to see Smurfs do Homeland.

donnie - I'm very impressed by your memory of key facts. But I also think Saul is too obvious as a mole - they'll be more subtle than that. Plus - he's clearly good and right and just.

Where is Jess's Mike? He didn't die in the explosion, did he?

noddyholder · 07/10/2013 16:22

Not as good as Breaking Bad found it hard to watch tbh

Hassled · 07/10/2013 16:36

BOF - that blog post is brilliant - many thanks.

Last season I was on here saying that it should have ended after the first one. Look how 24 turned out in the end. I haven't watched last nights. I don't know if I have the time or inclination to invest in it anymore. Just reading the reviews in the papers they are all saying the family should have been put in witness protection and left at that. What do you all think? I remember how annoying the wife was.

AnyFucker · 07/10/2013 17:07

Did Clare Danes produce the last 2 series ?
