Did Julie really say the Rita Tusshingham centre? Grin

squoosh · 26/08/2013 20:39

Kylie's 'newborn' looks like a bloody toddler!

NuggetofPurestGreen · 26/08/2013 20:59

Oh that was so annoying. Nearly told and then didn't. Also what percentage of Corrie/soap births actually happen in the hospital?!

NuggetofPurestGreen · 26/08/2013 21:00

I mean David nearly told Leanne.

Ellenora5 · 26/08/2013 21:08

Ah that annoys me, five minute labour and then born on the sofa, I know it can happen, I had very quick labours myself but nearly every baby born in soapland is born at home or in the pub.

Anna is acting like a crazy person, I would die laughing if Owen left her and hooked up with Sally Grin

I must remember to never leave my ketchup bottle on the fence, it could cause world war 3 Wink

FannyMcNally · 26/08/2013 21:25

Had some flashes of humour tonight.

Sally's 'you're brave' comment about Anna using frozen burgers was brilliantly delivered and the spat where they were both trying to outdo each other in establishing who contacted Hayley first with a BBQ invite was very funny.

Slightly farcical but still good was Gail popping out to tell everyone the news about the baby and barely missing a beat as she took in the carnage.

Bakingnovice · 26/08/2013 21:43

Forget kylies newborn, even prem baby jake looks about 6 months old! It's stupid.

Impomea · 26/08/2013 22:00

Ha ha yes she did say the Rita Tushingham centre .Loved that bit with Julie and Eileen and also Norris and Mary in the cafe.

Nick does wake up doesn't he ?

StephenFrySaidSo · 26/08/2013 22:03

what is the rita tushingham centre?

BadgersNadgers · 26/08/2013 22:08

Norris and Mary were fabulous tonight, the bit where he said she should record herself talking had me roaring with laughter.

MrsMinkBernardLundy · 26/08/2013 23:17

Genius. you might want to take those leggings off.
You might want to throw that couch out more like. and they are all sitting around on it without even washing the throw.

And as for the bbq. Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/08/2013 23:22

The Rita Tushingham Community Centre has been mentioned on Corrie for years.

Loved the leggings line.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 27/08/2013 12:59

I think the Rita Tushingham centre was originally a Morrissey reference (she was on the cover of Hand In Glove) from one of the script writers

whatkungfuthat · 27/08/2013 13:10

I remember the cover but I can't bear Morrissey, I hate that she is better known for him using that pic of her than for being in films like Dr Zhivago

alemci · 27/08/2013 13:29

loved the fight at bbq and Sally not knowing when to reign? it in.. why does she bother

StephenFrySaidSo · 27/08/2013 13:44

Sally seems to regress to year 9 mode when another female is around. I half expect her to say "sophie! Hold my earrings" Grin

Lighthousekeeping · 27/08/2013 18:52

The Communards! Grin

KenDoddsDadsDog · 27/08/2013 19:37

I listened to some Communards driving home from work , bloody brilliant!

Clawdy · 27/08/2013 22:22

The Sally-Anna pratfall was cringey. Very Monday-nightish.

Bakingnovice · 27/08/2013 22:40

That Anna is cruising for a bruising. Horrid woman.

Ellenora5 · 27/08/2013 23:58

Bakingnovice, Anna has reverted back to the way she was when the family first arrived on the street, she is awful now.

MrsMinkBernardLundy · 28/08/2013 00:14

She is not as bad a needy stuck up Sal though.

alemci · 28/08/2013 08:41

its a shame they couldn't have pooled their resources and had a joint party but then that is soaps for you where everyone falls out with each other frequently.

i was surprised Mary and Norris weren't at Sally's or Dennis etc. it was unrealistically thin on the ground.

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/08/2013 09:39

Little late but DH and I are watching Game of Thrones atm, love it! Although Jon Snow and Rob Stark are more my cuppa tea and age Grin

I quite liked the BBQ scene, made a change from watching miserable faces.

Also I know Tina wants David to tell the truth but what would it actually achieve? Tina gets on my nerves sticking her oar in, its none of her business it feels like the writers don't know what else to do with her so shes been stuck in that storyline awkwardly.

thistlelicker · 28/08/2013 15:37

Just watches corrie where Kylie had the baby! Bloody poor baby!
