As it says really - the old thread is nearly full, so here's a continuation for those of us watching on C4 on Sundays. Please, no spoilers - not even vague ones!

If you've watched the whole if season one already, there's a naughty corner another thread over there -->

Wait, are we now disputing that Pierre might not have been the guy in the house when Victor was murdered? I just took that as fact tbh. He said the exact same words as the murderers mate. AND Victor's response showed he recognised him too.

I didn't notice Lena morph into Camille, I'll have to re-watch it.

encyclogirl · 01/07/2013 14:54

I don't like Mrs Costa. I can't put my finger on it, but I think she's a bit of a bitch.

aliasjoey · 01/07/2013 14:59

Yes, Mrs Costa does seem a bit weird (she never speaks does she?)

I think we are agreed Pierre was probably one of the burglars, or at least Victor thinks he is.

anonacfr · 01/07/2013 15:00

Pierre was there. He was the man telling Victor to be quiet. Then his accomplice walks in and shoots Victor through the door.
I like the theory that it could be Thomas and that they are both undead.
However it seems that the returned all returned at the same time.

I wonder if we'll ever find out what triggered their return. If it was a specific event (involving the dam) then I guess it could have happened before- handle Pierre and Thomas?

Abra, my husband also said Lena morphed into Camille at the end too, but I scoffed at him ... ooops

BlackAffronted · 01/07/2013 15:13

It's hard to work out what is just plain weird and what is French Grin

RiotsNotDiets · 01/07/2013 15:26

I think Serge does attack Lena, did you see his expression change at the very end? He looked slightly concerned and was walking to check on her but then his face hardened and he sort of lurched right before it cut to the titles.

Made me think he is some sort of vessel for the murders, as it appeared as if a switch in his head had been flicked IYSWIM?

RiotsNotDiets · 01/07/2013 15:33

Just watched it back to see if I could spot Lena/Camille face swap and I just don't see it. I think they just look similar.

RiotsNotDiets · 01/07/2013 15:33
easier to check back over stuff on this link than on ch4 website.
qazxc · 01/07/2013 16:09

the sing a song thing isn't a common saying in France, so it is pretty clear that pierre is the first guy.
Victor knows who pierre is but pierre doesn't know who victor is.
I was thinking that maybe victor might think that pierre had shot him, but it is unlikely due to the fact that the other guy was talking to pierre.
Mrs costa does talk, she said "i'm too hungry" to mr costa when she first came back, which i found a bit strange as it was the exact words that camille had used and more of a modern teenage turn of phrase than someone who died over 30 yrs ago.

anonacfr · 01/07/2013 16:55

I think they made the Pierre thing such a moment that there is no way it can be dismissed as a coincidence.

Yonihadtoask · 01/07/2013 17:41

Ooooooooh!

Getting even more exciting now.

Is the priest in on it? He looked v uncomfortable talking to Thomas about people coming back to life/?

Roll on the next episode.

anonacfr · 01/07/2013 17:44

Priest and Pierre are about the same age aren't they? Maybe priest is the accomplice???

juneau · 01/07/2013 18:14

Last night's episode made all the revenents seem evil, I thought. The first episode or two only Serge seemed evil, Victor was creepy, but I didn't get that feeling about Camille or Simon, and we've barely seen Mrs Costa so far, but last night they all suddenly seemed malevolent to me.

That thing on Lena's back looks necrotic (i.e. dead flesh). That black spider-webby bit all around it is particularly nasty.

It's such a gripping series! After every episode I find myself running through all the questions I have: what's going on with the dam, the town's electricity, why is there no CCTV in that bloody underpass, what is the thing on Lena's back, why have the dead returned, why is the town so eerily empty most of the time - all these modern buildings and plazas devoid of people, what the hell is that 'helping hand' place - I can't understand why such a small and seemingly wealthy town with no visible vagrants has such a large homeless shelter .....???

NoHank · 01/07/2013 18:44

Hellooooo.

Loved it last night, I was really gripped by it. I felt so sorry for Victor at the beginning in the wardrobe. I don't think that was his home, mainly because he went to bed wearing his brown cords and red jumper Hmm surely if you lived there you'd be putting on your jammies at bedtime.

Well done Smegs on the sex psychic, I'd never have guessed that one.

I do think they are all coming across quite aggressive and a little bit nasty. But then so is half the town! Jerome hitting his daughter, Thomas the perving policeman and Pierre, I knew he was a wrong un!

Pierre certainly knows something about the returned. He said to Camillie in ep 2 I think it was about it happening before. And last night at the dam I'm sure they said something about "last time" when talking about what was happening with the water which makes you wonder if this lot could be the second wave of returnees? Victor has certainly been back at least 4 years since the coach crash so their could easily be others.

I noticed the spire / steeple sticking up out of the water so I'm presuming their is a drowned village under their.

And yes, they all seem to have a bit of yoda mind trickery going on. Victor and madcatlady, Simon and the power going out and Camille at the bar.

I also thought Serge wouldn't hurt Lena although I have no idea why. And I didn't notice the Lena / Camille face morphing but did see the Simon / Thomas one

Mrs Costa is somehow wrong, don't know what it is about her but she gives me bad vibes.

Does anyone know who next week is about???

anonacfr · 01/07/2013 18:56

All this morphing and hallucinating... Maybe the returned aren't actually real and it's a collective dream à la Shutter Island.
Serge was evil before he died so is ruled out. The others don't seem malevolent to me- I now want to adopt poor little Victor!
Camille is an annoying brat though.

Mrs Costa is intriguing but a bit too mute so far. I quite like the fact that she seems to be sitting around eating all the time!

RiotsNotDiets · 01/07/2013 18:56

Serge I think

NoHank · 01/07/2013 19:22

Yes, they are all seem to be starving. Making up for lost time???

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/07/2013 19:26

Oooh! was Shock last night, especially when Pierre said that to Victor Shock Shock. Victor's gonna get Pierre now.

And well done Smegs on the sex-medium theory! Superb!

My latest theory concerns Lena's hairy back - she is morphing into werewolf and rips Serge's throat out when he tries to stab her! AND this must surely have something to do with the wolfdog thing at Serge's house - was it their mother??

BlackAffronted · 01/07/2013 19:55

I thoughther back looked like it was bruised or decomposing rather than hairy Grin

BlackAffronted · 01/07/2013 19:56

Next week is Serge & Toni.

aliasjoey · 01/07/2013 19:59

juneau agreed, it raises so many questions! It's just occurred to me that Toni didn't really seem too surprised to see his brother back from the dead?! (Especially if he was the one who killed him)

BlackAffronted · 01/07/2013 20:00

I thought Toni looked verysurprised!

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/07/2013 20:18

But what about the dog/wolf? Was it the mother? (sticking with hairy back theory, although not sure where it will lead)
