As it says really - the old thread is nearly full, so here's a continuation for those of us watching on C4 on Sundays. Please, no spoilers - not even vague ones!

If you've watched the whole if season one already, there's a naughty corner another thread over there -->

OP posts:

Swoosh you are onto something there for sure! It's the Revs that can't leave.

Oooh yes, yes the scratchy music that accompanies Victor. He is evil. He killed that nosey neighbour, (somehow); he nearly bumped off Pierre (don't blame him for that); he caused the coach to crash and he seemed to freak out Chloe for fun. He's a bad sort.

Is it weird that when all those people turned up at the pub and Lucy was smiling at them my only thought was " I hope they have cranberry juice behind that bar, because you are going to be suffering a major dose of cystitis if you have to shag your way through that lot"?

aliasjoey · 22/07/2013 16:32

qazxc Grin I thought Lucy was shagging to commune with the dead... but Simon is already dead...

And yes it would take longer than 3 weeks to starve, Mme Costa was just using that as an excuse because they like the taste

Aethelfleda · 22/07/2013 17:25

So Victor was drowned in the 1950s first village, ever since then he's been coming back and inciting other people to die. The entire village is trapped in a cycle of being unable to move on, hence the dead return and periodically there is a "cull" from zombies and then the whole thing starts again?
Maybe the graveyard will be uncovered next episode and we'll see all the character's graves with names and dates?

cheerfulweather · 22/07/2013 17:33

I came to read this for answers. Now I just have more questions! Smile

coffeeinbed · 22/07/2013 17:50

was there a trailer for the next episode?

AvonCallingBarksdale · 22/07/2013 19:00

No trailer for next week. I found Julie and Laure's futile attempt to escape really unsettling, as was most of this episode. Don't want it to end!

susiedaisy · 22/07/2013 19:05

Nearly vomited when Simon ate that skin off his stomach Confused

coffeeinbed · 22/07/2013 19:11

He was very detached though when he did it, it seemed very instinctive.

susiedaisy · 22/07/2013 19:27

I'm feeling slightly anxious that we aren't going to get many answers next weekHmm

Also where we're the police when the couple hung themselves and why didn't Adele take her daughter to A&E??

susiedaisy · 22/07/2013 19:28

Also Simon didn't seem to be in pain with his rotting wound, just curious and itchy!

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/07/2013 19:31

oh yes simon eating his skin - really not nice - def not shaggable material anymore !!!

susiedaisy · 22/07/2013 19:32

Simon now yuck
Serge gone
It's slim pickings now !!Grin

smokinaces · 22/07/2013 20:13

I remember us saying at the time victor seemed on a sleepover or something, not his family that he was with when he was shot. So maybe he was a returned then that had latched onto that family like he has now with Julie.

I think adele is a returned. But I don't think Julie is. Her scars are too prominent.

I think serge was at the border so got sucked under.

I also think more are dead than we think.

Pierre is pivotal to it all. Bounty hunter turned worshiper??

IdaBlankenship · 22/07/2013 20:32

I don't think Adele and Julie are Rev's only because in both their cases, their "death" would have been at least a year ago and neither of them are rotting whereas all the other Revs are. Something must have happened to Lena in the woods though.

Aethelfleda · 22/07/2013 20:59

dH reckons that it's all a facade, the engineers are angel-type maintainers of the purgatory village, and the revs are being contained within the village by any means necessary. Victor is one of the original inhabitants needing containment and Lucy goes in whenever the revs get all worked up, causes an almighty massacre, and then pops out again while the system resets, knowing that the revs are all going to return again and it will all start over. Everyone in the village is doomed to cycle with convenient memory blocks, which explains the lack of questioning....

Well, that's what DH says. I still like the homeopathic dam theory.....

IdaBlankenship · 22/07/2013 21:15

Aethelfleda it must be fun in your house with two conspiracy theorists Wink
I like the idea of angels as engineers - doing the drudge maintenance work in purgatory

Wallison · 22/07/2013 21:22

Ooh ooh I've just had an idea. The dam divides the ones in limbo from the ones in hell (the horde). But once it overflows the hell creatures get in. That's why the engineers went because they knew they couldn't stop it. And Lucy = Lucifer.

BeaWheesht · 22/07/2013 21:35

Oooooh Lucy = Lucifer - I like it

Wallison · 22/07/2013 21:59

Thank you. Not sure if 'Lucifer' exists in French though.

Dammit, this programme is so confusing; I want answers, and I don't think we're going to get them. Bah.

Aethelfleda · 22/07/2013 22:20

Yes, but nattering about the lack of answers is fun!!

susiedaisy · 22/07/2013 22:42

I wonder if the writers of the second series are popping in on this thread for ideas??Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/07/2013 22:56

Victors scar isn't going mouldy - just looks bad and he's been dead 30+ years - same as mrs costa and she doesn't seem to have mouldy bits

Good point about serge disappearing at towns boundary - plus guess tony went back as couldn't go any further and hence he for his boots back on

sweetiepie1979 · 23/07/2013 08:26

Slmon ate his skin far too easily
Hes done that before.

RappyNash · 23/07/2013 08:57

Maybe the revs get stronger and less mouldy the more times they come back?
