As it says really - the old thread is nearly full, so here's a continuation for those of us watching on C4 on Sundays. Please, no spoilers - not even vague ones!

If you've watched the whole if season one already, there's a naughty corner another thread over there -->

OP posts:

The police women is Julie's ex , so she has moved in her house next to Adele's house.

susiedaisy · 16/07/2013 20:45

I'm still daydreaming about serge's bicepsBlush

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/07/2013 21:35

i have seen last episodes, seen them all many times as kept them all to refer back to i must refer back to them lo Grin

so julie moved in with her ex policelady to be safe after she was gonna jump from the window and when they thought serge was still at large and possibly after julie

not sure how i missed thatim blonde

but that makes more sense now :)

qazxc · 16/07/2013 21:46

Gendarmes are technically part of the army, so it would make sense for them to all live in a gated complex (sort of like barracks). Therefore it wouldn't be that weird for adele and julie's ex to live side by side.

LBsBongers · 16/07/2013 22:00

Enjoying the thread as no bugger I know is watching it!

Wanted to add that don't think Julie is a rev as she sleeps and barely eats.

Also agree that Audrey's mum thinks Camille is making it up. Loving that the returned are becoming more menacing to those who first welcomed them back - the tension is unbearable !

Aethelfleda · 16/07/2013 22:21

Hmm, so who were the returned down by the lake,?-!: why would they a) all pitch up at once, b) immediately have a barbecue and c) act to turn "as one"? All the revs up until now have had individual awareness rather than hive conciousness....

trincomalee · 16/07/2013 23:01

Just caught up with the series and with this thread. Some great theories here!
Thought the end of the most recent episode was very creepy indeed.

daimbardiva · 17/07/2013 10:44

Aethelfleda Good point...there was something that didn't sit right with me about the group in the woods and the revenants we already know and that's exactly it - the difference is they have all seemed so individual, up till now...

Only 4 days till episode 7...!

Msbluebozooka · 17/07/2013 14:52

The people in the forests are the ones that raided the dinner hours before
probably Revs who knows until sunday roll on sunday.

Msbluebozooka · 17/07/2013 14:59

Blondes hon your still on the wrong track Julie moved in with police friend because Pierre wanted Victor back at the helping hand !!! Not cos Serge was after her.

If i was you i'd dye my hair medium brown

toldmywrath · 17/07/2013 18:28

Camille was told by Pierre to reassure the parents(of the children who died in coach crash) He wanted them to have some comfort -apparently that was his motive-but he is a devious one.

Gingersnap88 · 17/07/2013 19:28

Loving this series and the thread, really enjoyed reading it.

One thing I've been thinking though, surely Thomas can't have killed Simon because when Simon returned, Thomas didn't recognise him. He was confused when he was interviewing him at the police station and there's a scene where he (Thomas) goes through Adele's things to find a picture of Simon to see if its really him!

Can't wait till Sunday!

Msbluebozooka · 17/07/2013 20:00

That crossed my mind ,but he could have, because think about it ,never would you expect him returning after you had set up or murdered him

Queen0fFeckingEverything · 17/07/2013 20:04

Ooohhhhh but maybe.... Victor doesn't know who murdered him, because he never saw their faces. He's recognised Pierre from his voice/words but doesn't know who the other one was, does he?

So... maybe Thomas did murder Simon (or orchestrate his death somehow) but Simon doesn't know it (yet, because surely it will all come out!)

Msbluebozooka · 17/07/2013 20:40

yep thats true Queenof but at lest Victor knew something, Simon can't remember naff all and he's beginning to bug me as well

girliefriend · 17/07/2013 20:47

I'm thinking the ones in the forest are bad 'uns and probably what all the suicidal animals that jumped into the reservoir were running from!!

Which doesn't bode well for Lena unfortunately....

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/07/2013 20:53

Think we find out what happened to Simon this Sunday

Still sure Thomas had something to do with Simons death - and guess if anyone killed someone or knew they were dead and came back you wouldn't believe it

As much as I would love to see my dh again - of he suddenly turned up at my door I would prob think I had gone insane /seeing things like Adele did

IdaBlankenship · 18/07/2013 09:25

Sorry for your loss Blondes Sad

I think Lena would be better off with psycho Serge and Toni than with a bunch of creepy Revs in a wood. Maybe they will recognise Lena as one of their own though due to her twin link to Camille?

RobotBananas · 18/07/2013 09:55

"I'm thinking the ones in the forest are bad 'uns and probably what all the suicidal animals that jumped into the reservoir were running from!! "

Ahh good theory, that sounds right.

Aethelfleda · 18/07/2013 11:01

Sorry too blondes.

Well, it's possible the revs "reboot" in response to something: there have been references to previous "revs" by some of the townsfolk, also Victor popped up in the road four years ago (coach crash) but there's no indication of whether he remembers that himself, and it's not clear if he kept existing in the "real world" during the four years in between (unlikely). There's an old role playing game called "paranoia" where you play a person living in dystopia and if you get killed you are replaced by a new clone that starts you again: maybe the revs just re-appear each time in "base state and thats why they seem anmesiac? Has anyone noticed whether the regenerated Simon acts as if he remembers all the encounters with Adele/Thomas?

Ooh, and maybe the woods zombie-revs are those where the reboot/transfer process didn't work which is why they are non-thinking-drool-monsters? or they could be the "naturally dead" ie don't have the driving injustice of an unnatural death to give them mental power when they return

Msbluebozooka · 18/07/2013 12:54

Bloody Hell !!! Aethe you are over thinking !!

Last thing Simon was doing was shagging Lucy so couldn't tell if he remembered the old state he was in.

My theory is - they have been before Costa survived (thats why he toped himself) The wrongs uns in the forest are Zombies and are waiting for the moment.

Lets not forget it is a Zombie thriller something has to happen fast ie flesh eating zombie massacre.
The animals running into the Dam was a good one, makes sense with the MR Costa theory.

farewellfigure · 18/07/2013 14:43

I've just read an article by the writer....

Question: Can you tell us how you're going to feed answers to the questions that are posed in the first episode?

Answer: When you ask the audience a question, when you present a mystery, you have a responsibility not to disappoint them when you reveal what it's about. But, in this show, we're writing the second series, where we're still working on those questions. Why are they coming back? What for? How long will they stay?

WHAT? If this show doesn't have answers I will be so annoyed. I need to know. It sounds as though the writers themselves don't even know. GAH!

farewellfigure · 18/07/2013 14:47

And I just read this. EVEN WORSE!

Right I'm going to stop googling it now.

Episode 1.08 ends in a way that might frustrate you (think of the hatch in Lost) but overall the feeling of wanting to know more takes over and you just can't wait for the second season (which will probably arrive in the next 12-15 months).

daimbardiva · 18/07/2013 15:07

aethel geez you are making my head explode. ..loving your theories!!!

Rollergirl1 · 18/07/2013 15:46

Did anyone notice the weird scar/bruise/old tattoo on Serge's shoulder while he was shagging Lena? I don't know if it's significant or not but Lena kept grabbing where it was and right at the end of that scene she places her hand right on it, covering it up.

It could just be something that the actor has and nothing to do with Serge but I thought the way the scene was shot seemed to be drawing attention to it.
