You do know the actress who plays Izzy has the same connective tissue disorder in real life as she plays in Corrie. The actress's skin, muscles, voice etc are weaker than regular people's as a result. Maybe if you google her condition you may stop making disablist comments and personal attacks.

Deepfriedsage - I didn't realise the actress who plays Izzy has EDS in real life. I'm sure most of us on this thread are unaware and if course we wouldn't knowingly make attacks based on her condition. Doesn't detract from the fact she's a rubbish actress.

This thread is light hearted and mainly an attack towards the shocking scriptwriting and hilarious scenarios that just wouldn't happen in real life, but happen everyday in one small street. More often than not we jokingly criticise the character rather than the person, but sometimes it's hard to distinguish one from the other!

Of course we're not all sitting here mocking her condition!
Pussy footing round her character and saying nothing for fear of being called disablist is just a bad.

There's other characters we don't like but we're not called homophobic/ rasist towards those are we?

We're sure nobody on here would be intentionally disablist (or at least, we really hope not!) but now that our attention has been drawn to the actor's RL condition, we've deleted posts that seem to be mocking it, even inadvertently. As you probably know, disablist posts are against our Talk Guidelines.

I thought it was a meant to be a ighthearted thread also.

Most of the comments about Izzy have been about her acting ability,or lack of it. I can't think of any comments which have mocked her condition,or,like most of us,I would have felt uncomfortable reading them.

They were about her ability to use her voice and her looks, and ability to make a facial expressions which are features and part of her condition.
