Emily just appears and falls over. Is this leading somewhere?

David being rescued from the brink by Max. Hmm

Boring boring boring.

And how could Michelle infer from that short convo that Katie still had feelings for Chesney? Maybe it's just Katie's bad acting but I didn't feel that at all.

Ellenora5 · 20/06/2013 01:18

I think Michelle just wants rid of Katie and Joseph, she knows Ryan doesn't want to play Daddy and that Katie will be left on her own with Joseph so is trying to engineer a make up with Katie and Chesney. I wonder are they paving the way for Emily to finally leave, surely she has had enough by now. What's the bets that Stella and Karls wedding will end up in the Rovers anyway despite her saying she wants something different, and how will it be paid for, they have no money apparently. Evil David is setting his plans in motion for Nicks downfall, Leanne will be distraught and run back to Peter ( I might have said that before so forgive me for repeating)

FannyMcNally · 20/06/2013 08:10

Of course! Michelle trying to plant a seed of doubt in Katie's mind. I didn't think of that!

carabos · 20/06/2013 11:41

That was hilarious with Emily - hasn't been sighted for months, then all of a sudden she's up a ladder cleaning windows - cue fall, then back home apparently unhurt. She'll be dead by Monday, mark my words and will have one of those weird Corrie funerals where the half of the cast she doesn't know well will be out in force and the ones she's really close to (Ken) will be nowhere to be seen Wink.

And as for Rita saying she will use her life savings to fund Tina's legal bills Shock wtaf? As if... It goes from bad to worse. Only watching it now for the laugh out loud value, the storylines are clearly being developed by the work experience kid.

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/06/2013 12:19

Rita pees me off is she blind to Tina's silly plan? Is she some sort of mother/ grandmother figure because she never had her own children?

Ooooh Nick is doooooomed!!

ClartyCarol · 20/06/2013 14:36

The most bizarre of the random conversations was between Sophie and Michelle regarding the origins of the term 'petty cash' and the fact that you keep it in a little tin. Wtf? People are paid good money for writing this drivel?!

Rita is Weatherfield's answer to Rockefeller. At one time it was the Websters who were the beneficiaries of her largesse, now it's Tina. Seems to me Dennis is the only one with his head screwed on, Tommy is so frightened of losing her yet again that he daren't let out a peep of doubt.

Feeling quite sorry for David now, but come on, Kylie is no dunderhead - I'm sure with all his cryptic comments and general moodiness she would've twigged what was up.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 20/06/2013 14:42

I think it's really obvious now that the writers have had to write meaningless filler scenes to hide the absence of Ken and Kev's screen time. Some scenes have left me thinking "What was the point of that?", but I reckon it's because they need to fill minutes that were due to be filled with Ken or Kev.

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/06/2013 15:55

haha I forgot about the stupid petty cash convo, I was like Grin

SweetestThing · 20/06/2013 16:05

But there are other story lines they could develop to use as fillers - like Chesney's new girlfriend? or use Sylvia more -she is comedy gold. Deirdre is woefully underused - I think they should pursue a new storyline where it emerges she has a secret life as a male impersonator, with her deep, gravelly voice. ...

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 20/06/2013 16:13

Yes, Deirdre has a lot of comic potential and could definitely be used more.

CatherineofMumbles · 20/06/2013 18:28

Agree about Deirdre potential, also Sylvia. Traditionally Corrie has strong women (obv Blanch was a classic), and now we seem to have the feeble St Ella and the boring Grin young generation with all the storylines. Also, I think Sylvia and Roy are two of the best actors, their gruff undemonstrative affection for each other is so moving.

lauracutee · 21/06/2013 11:58

What the EFF was the 'Emily Falls' story line all about?!! How pointless is that?
When was the last time she HAD a story line?

David's 'angry face' - LOL!

ReturnofSaturn · 21/06/2013 15:46

Yes! Are we getting psycho David back? I've missed the old psycho David from a few years back. He used to be hilarious with it.

CatherineofMumbles · 21/06/2013 17:28

I missed Corrie for a few years when our TV was broken and I was uninitiated in ITV player..
Hope its not going to be too psycho tho'... Corrie at its best with gentle understated witty humour, not the 'jump-the-shark stuff...

whatkungfuthat · 21/06/2013 18:18

I was the same Catherine, I stopped watching about the time that Sarah-Lou hit pg and didn't really get back into it until just before the tram crash so I missed years

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/06/2013 19:37

Ha! 'PLEASE go to work Norris!'

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/06/2013 19:51

Spider! Wish he'd come back!

thenightsky · 21/06/2013 20:07

Spider and the other Battersby sister... what was her name?

BringMeTea · 21/06/2013 20:11

Toyah

ExitPursuedByABear · 21/06/2013 20:11

Toyah?

thenightsky · 21/06/2013 20:37

Toyah! That's her. She and Spider went off together into the sunset, to live the hippy life together didn't they?

ShiftyFades · 21/06/2013 20:51

Spider (Geoffrey) has sent Emily flowers!
Blast from the past Grin

Ellenora5 · 21/06/2013 22:23

That was some whack Anna gave Tina, where is the horrible Faye, she seems to have been forgotten about altogether, and if that girl who has been seeing Chesney had any sense she would run a mile, I had to laugh at Katy saying she didn't want her around the baby, when she lives with Ryan and Michelle and Steve, ha, as if the child would know who they are. Standards are seriously dropping with the script writers, they seem to making it up day by day.

ClartyCarol · 21/06/2013 22:32

Just watching now, laughing my arse off at Roy in his Milk Tray Man get up - where the hell did he manage to unearth an all black outfit from? He's permanently stitched into his beige cardigan!

Was cheering Anna on quite frankly (not condoning violence and all that obviously) but she said exactly the right thing - if Tina wants a baby she should have one with Tommy and NOT appropriate someone else's.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 21/06/2013 22:48

Anna is all annoying though , at least she has stopped going on about Faye.
I like scary David - think he has been at the Johnson's holiday skin though !
