Just over 57 hours to go...

I really can't wait. In fact, I'm going to nc in a bit to honour the return of Tyrion, Robb, Jon Snow, Brienne and Arya.

Anyone else practically wetting themselves in excitment?

OP posts:
TrampyPants · 03/04/2013 11:51

Heheheheh, that is awesome!

limitedperiodonly · 03/04/2013 12:29

I've forgotten who Margaery is. She was married to Stannis's brother who was gay and is now dead? Is that right? How did he die? What is she doing with Joffrey and his mother?

If it's not right just help me out please.

I can remember the rest of it.

limitedperiodonly · 03/04/2013 12:30

I would check it online for myself but I'll get spoilers. Thanks

cookielove · 03/04/2013 13:38

limited Margarery was married to Renly who was gay and in love with her brother Loras, there marriage was not consummated which is why she can marry Joffery instead as apparently its not classed as marriage until they dtd. Renly died before this happened and plus he just wasn't interested in doing it with her. The red lady that Stannis has (cannot remember her name) used a curse to kill him in front of Catelyn and Brienne, a shadow basically stabbed him IIRC as he was a threat to Stannis claim to the throne.

And i never saw it before but Stannis looked a little phoar in that episode Smile

TrampyPants · 03/04/2013 13:53

Ah, melissandre and her demon-smoke-baby.

limitedperiodonly · 03/04/2013 13:55

Thanks. I dimly remember that now.

Another question then: have Joffrey and his mother thrown Sansa aside? (Ned and Catelyn's daughter, I think Sansa is her name?) I remember that they were waiting until Sansa's first period for her to be able to marry and Cersei discovered it even though Sansa's maid tried to cover it up.

What's planned for her? Is that why she was talking about sailing away with Littlefinger? Do Joffrey and Cersei know she's planning to go away?

Honestly, I was paying attention last series. Blush

EhricLovesTeamQhuay · 03/04/2013 13:59

Yes, Sansa is now basically a hostage. Cersei has a plan for her but that would be a spoiler!

limitedperiodonly · 03/04/2013 14:02

Thanks again. I now think I know what's going on - until the next timeGrin It's good not to post spoilers.

peachyglow · 03/04/2013 14:03

Loved all the books, anyone got any ideas about who Jon Snows' mother may be?

expatinscotland · 03/04/2013 14:05

In the books, Renly is not gay. He's showy and flashy, but the way everyone shags about it in the books and there are more than a few 'boy whore' references, if he were gay I don't think the author was have hesitated to throw that in there. Nor is there anything going on between Margery and her brother Loras.

The plans for Sansa were not Cersei's, Lord Tywin came up with the idea, and, in typical fashion, bullies the parties into it.

expatinscotland · 03/04/2013 14:07

'anyone got any ideas about who Jon Snows' mother may be?'

His mother is Wylla and Dornish. There is speculation Ned may have also fathered a child to the Lady Ashara Dayne, the sister of the famous knight Ned killed, but it's never confirmed. Ashara's daughter was born still and she committed suicide by throwing herself over a cliff, but Ned speaks John's mother's name in the first book and Arya meets John's milk brother is passing later on.

EhricLovesTeamQhuay · 03/04/2013 14:08

I think Jon Snow is the offspring of ned's sister and rhaegar targaryan. They eloped or ran off together I think. I reckon ned took him in to protect him from Robert or the lannisters who would have killed him as a targaryan threat.

expatinscotland · 03/04/2013 14:10

Ashara also comes up in the first book because Catelyn heard maidservants talking about her, how she was John's mother, but Ned himself confirms to Robert that his mother is Wylla, whom he met on a ship somewhere in the south. Barristan Selmy also ruminates about Ashara.

expatinscotland · 03/04/2013 14:17

'I think Jon Snow is the offspring of ned's sister and rhaegar targaryan.'

There's a very good reason why that's not true. Anyone want a spoiler who hasn't read the books?!

peachyglow · 03/04/2013 14:21

Thank you expat, I can't remember that, has been ages since I read the books though, was hoping it may be significant later on. Has anyone thought about how it may all end eventually?

TrampyPants · 03/04/2013 14:23

The rhaegar/lyanna rumours have never been disproved. Ned was v evasive about jons mum, and I don't think that ned would have fathered a bastard. Plus dany's and arya's visions all point to that. Plus there's ned's promise.

TrampyPants · 03/04/2013 14:24

Barristen was in love with ashara.

expatinscotland · 03/04/2013 14:24

Although, thinking about it, it might be true . . . but without spoiling, it's hard to say more :o.

TheCeejOfWinterfell · 03/04/2013 14:25

I have also heard these rumours about Jon's parentage and I think the debate is still open. Ned may have said it was Wylla, but that doesn't make it true Grin. And I reckon Arya meeting the 'milk brother' is also a bit of a red herring.

I would love to have your reasons, expat Grin. I have done a lot far too much of geek reading of the theories, but they just make my head spin. Isn't there supposed to be a lot of significance to Lyanna's death, possibly in childbirth?

Oh god, I've been sucked in again. Shock

Beer, a proper crush on Stannis? Hmmmm ...

Anyone think Stannis's wife is going to have a more prominent role this series, given that she's being played by Tara Fitzgerald? She barely features in the books.

expatinscotland · 03/04/2013 14:27

True enough, Trampy, and there's plenty of reference to Lyanna's death in 'a bed of blood', but then again, there's that other male later on in the picture about the same age . . . :o

expatinscotland · 03/04/2013 14:31

'And I reckon Arya meeting the 'milk brother' is also a bit of a red herring.'

Not necessarily because the person she hears it from met her by coincidence. BUT, the fact that Wylla was a wet nurse is something. Also that when Ned brought Jon to Winterfell he brought a wet nurse along for him, too. It would make sense that he was Lyanna's and Rhaegar's, but then Rhaeagar was not married to Lyanna. And then, well :o, there's that other male . . .

TrampyPants · 03/04/2013 14:32

All that bed of blood stuff plus dany sees a blue rose in the wall. Rhaegar gave lyanna a crown of blue roses and they were her favourite flowers. Plus, she wasn't as in love with robert as he with her and everyone who met rhaegar insists that he wasn't the type to steal her etc.
And the dragon needs three heads...

I was pissed that they left the visions out.

expatinscotland · 03/04/2013 14:35

It would still make Jon a bastard, though, v. that Rhaegar fathered (I say no more :o) a trueborn son by Elia.

TheCeejOfWinterfell · 03/04/2013 14:36

I am totally Confused now Grin

TheCeejOfWinterfell · 03/04/2013 14:39

Is the bastard bit significant, then? Damn, I have obviously missed loads of clues. I am pretty sure I know who you're hinting at, expat, but I think I have too many gaps to fill in. should be cleaning
