Anyone watching?

OP posts:
SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 13/07/2013 19:43

limited, True Blood and Banshee I did give up on. Couldn't stand Sookie or Bill and they were ruining all the good characters.

Banshee was just Hmm Because obviously if some hick fake sheriff beats a famous boxer half to death and destroys his career there won't be a mention of it in the papers, nor a massive law suit and criminal charges. And a ukrainian mob bosses daughter who's on the run blends in so well as the wife of a DA in said hick town and will be so difficult for her father to find. Hmm

TwllBach · 13/07/2013 22:20

Ohhhh Summer I watched Banshee right to the end and thought it was amazing!

I also watch Defiance and am hugely disappointed. I did like the whole Nolan and his wierdo daughter relationship though.

The important question is, though, when does the Walking Dead start again??

SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 13/07/2013 23:05

We still have banshee on the planner. Giving up on something and actually deleting it are very seperate decisions in this house Hmm does it get better? Job just moved to town at the end of the last one we watched.

I was so excited about defiance but it's a let down. The games is getting bad reviews too.

Walking dead is Halloween every year isn't it?

limitedperiodonly · 14/07/2013 08:31

I didn't really like it but watched it out of inertia.

There most annoying thing is a fight scene in the last but one episode that goes on ridiculously long - it wasn't that the violence upset me, it was just stupid and boring.

One of the fighters is weaker than the other but holds their own and when this epic bout eventually finishes their face has a few strategically-placed sexy-looking cuts and bruises when in real life it would be a pulp.

Ana's daughter has a Kim Bauer-like talent for having to be rescued from peril.

buzzgirly · 14/07/2013 09:42

I fell asleep during the last episode of Revolution, and I can't be bothered to rewatch so not got a clue what's going on! I had forgotten how much I hated Juliette in lost - she seems even worse in this.

I loved Banshee! Ok the plot was ridiculous but Sheriff Hood made you forget about that WinkWinkWink

TwllBach · 14/07/2013 17:01

See I loved the banshee fight scene! I loved that the Ana character didn't expect any mercy because she was a woman and I loved that she was the one to rescue Hood and do all the strong things that many films/programmes don't have women doing.

I also thought the relationship between her and Hood was lovely... I suppose its fair to say it isn't the most realistic programme around though Grin

limitedperiodonly · 14/07/2013 18:42

twll It's shit and I will not be watching season 2. Grin

However I admire the fact that Ana has tiny tits. I'm impressed at any programme that doesn't have actresses with plastic torpedoes in it and still portrays them as sexy beasts. No axe to grind. My cup size is somewhere between Ana's and Katie Price's. More to the Ana end of the spectrum.

Maybe it's because Alan Ball is gay.

I like Boardwalk Empire for the realistic tits. And even Spartacus, despite their gratuitous sex scenes.

I'm still bored by protracted scenes of sex and violence - though violence is less of an obsession - and reach for the FF button.

I realise this makes me seem tit-obsessed Grin

TwllBach · 15/07/2013 01:49

I have to say that I was shocked at how much of a prude I apparently am. I was BlushBlushBlushing at every single one of the sex scenes and couldn't watch them if dp walked in the room Grin

anonacfr · 15/07/2013 13:07

I was also a bit hmm about the sex scenes but I did think the one between Hood and Ana was well done. It was v explicit but also v well edited. I think it really showed their intense connection which went beyond the physical.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/07/2013 20:58

evening all :)

havnt watched fridays yet - bad blondes for reading this thread but i take it theres sex scenes? Shock Wink

also i rem someone saying about ray donavon - that starts tomorrow - have just done a thread ray donavon here

OP posts:
anonacfr · 16/07/2013 08:03

No the sex scenes are in Banshee.

HighBrows · 16/07/2013 10:54

I finally watched Fridays offerings... It was an ok episode.

I reckon Miles is most definitely Charlie's father.

Bass has killed off another mate - he is quite seriously mental unstable, who in their right mind would fight for such a man?

Rachel is like the female Bass, she has her eye on the prize of restoring power at all costs.

I'm glad Nora got captured, I reckon next weeks mission is to liberate Nora and insist Georgia does not surrender. Miles and Charlie will do this almost single handily with minimum help from Tom and his son Jason.

Miles is the ultimate killing machine - he took down about 300 soldiers.

Grin
limitedperiodonly · 16/07/2013 11:04

Yes, blondes it was me chuntering about sex scenes in Banshee and also me going on about Ray Donovan. I'll probably watch the recording in a few days but I'll be on your thread.

I can't imagine anyone in Revolution having sex. I bet they're all smooth down below like Barbie and Ken.

That's made me think of another unrealistic thing about it. There wouldn't be any reliable contraception so there'd be loads of under-15s about.

Probably families would be very protective of their unattached daughters and wouldn't allow them to go charging about shooting people and making cow-eyes at older men.

HighBrows · 16/07/2013 11:09

Nora and Miles got it on last week - it was cringe making Grin

limitedperiodonly · 16/07/2013 11:14

Typical! I stop watching it and it livens up.

I'm using 'livens up' as a relative term.

SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 16/07/2013 13:39

I honestly thought they were going to do the big reveal about Charlie being Miles' daughter in that episode. So much build up for something we all figured out weeks ago Hmm

Hannibal tonight at least... The only good show on atm. Although I'm liking The Glades too, it's corny but fun.

limitedperiodonly · 16/07/2013 14:01

Oh God what's The Glades?

I don't have enough time to watch the telly, MN and put food on the table.

I'm ignoring The Americans so I only want people to comment on it if they're going to say it's rubbish.

I'm watching The Returned but no matter how hard I concentrate I read the thread on here and think: 'Eh? I missed that bit' and have to watch it again.

Similar, but not quite as bad with Hannibal. I watched it twice before I realised the girl at the end was the girl who'd been hiding under the bed, but after they'd washed her hair. I may not have been giving it my full attention.

SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 16/07/2013 14:19

She was much better looking after a bit of a scrub wasn't she? Hmm She creeped the shit out of me, I almost screamed out loud when he found her under his bed.

The Glades is a cop show set in florida with way too much sexual tension and some decent comedy. No idea what channel i'm recording it from... stumbled across it one night, hit record and was pleasantly surprised when it turned out not to be shit. It's a bit like Castle in humour but set in the Everglades

anonacfr · 16/07/2013 15:59

I started on the Americans but gave up after two episodes. I found the leads quite unnerving.

I had all of Hannibal saved up on my Sky + but gave up and deleted it all. I was running out of room and couldn't be bothered.

SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 16/07/2013 16:30

anon... it's actually quite good. I almost stopped watching after the first episode as it's got a very different feel to anything else on tv atm and it was hard to get into but i'm glad I stuck with it apart from creepy leprosy girl last week who freaked the living shit out of me

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/07/2013 17:14

lol ive watched and kept thinking wheres the sex and there was none :(

i obv need to watch banshee!!!

OP posts:
SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 16/07/2013 17:24

Blondes, sex is about the only thing banshee has going for it. You'd have the same experience googling 'hillbilly porn' for the most part.

limitedperiodonly · 16/07/2013 17:49

'hillbilly porn Grin

cruel but accurate

I started on the Americans but gave up after two episodes. I found the leads quite unnerving

This is the kind of comment I was hoping for. I have a fear of missing out. It's actually a crippling medical condition Wink

SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 16/07/2013 19:25

limited... my old house mate had that. He used to stay awake for days on end as he couldn't go to bed if even one person was up in the house in case something interesting would happen in his absence Confused We all worked contrasting shifts so there was never no-one up, and we were all generally being quite boring! Grin

He was a weird one all round though. He disappeared one day and 2 days later we had a mother on her doorstep claiming he'd run away with her 16 yo daughter (he was 21). They went to London (we were living in Cork) and it took the cops ages to get the girl home, we were all interviewed by police (age of consent is 17 here!).

Come to think of it, he'd have fit in pretty well in Bas' militia.... totally deranged, paranoid, banjaxed moral compass....

anonacfr · 16/07/2013 19:40

Shit my mother has that! I remember her ruining the last ever episode of Twin Peaks for me back in the day. I told her to F off warned her she wouldn't understand what the hell was going on and it might be better she went to read her book somewhere else.

But, NO. She sat right next to me reading and interrupted every 5 mns to ask me what was going on.

She does it when anyone is watching anything at home. Sports, films, TV shows... It drives us all crazy.
