Have started a new thread as the old one won't accept my message. So I'll repost it here:

Fuzz has form for being beyond thick. Remember the whole stape thing? Her character is just incredibly stupid. You'd think she would learn her lesson. Running away 'on a fishing boat' with £200 is like a story from a 16th century novel.

Re the abduction I think they were wrong. Lots of mums keeps kids from fathers for all manner of selfish reasons and abduction is not the answer. However I do think ty was desperate. But why won't he just let the court decide ffs. He's got loads of evidence. I'm getting to the point in this story where I'm actually ready to punch him myself! In fact have felt a tiny bit sorry for k when they stole ruby. Surely the writers can't have intended for this to happen? God knows. Im away next week so hopefully I'll miss the stupid court stuff and be back for some proper corrie storylines.

Do we think that Carla may invest? It would explain a bonkers spoiler I read

ajandjjmum · 05/05/2013 21:33

Owen's short of work - I'm sure his price would be very competitive! Grin

thenightsky · 06/05/2013 19:45

Have I missed something re Gary and The Ring? Anna was just telling him off for paying money for it wasn't she? Or did he still have it in his possession from when he robbed her father a couple of years ago?

Confused

Right...I watched Monday's episode last night on catch up..... Unless I'm being very very stupid it is known to happen... I really really don't understand Roy's dad's name........ On the ITV site and the soap mag it clearly says that his name is St John which makes no sense to me anyway... but Sylvia and Hayley were pronouncing it 'Sinjun'.... I don't understaaaaaaaand can someone please explain this to me, please tell me I'm not the only one.......

thenightsky · 08/05/2013 12:09

The name St John is pronounced Sinjen.

Numberlock · 08/05/2013 12:56

eg Norman St John Stevas

Numberlock · 08/05/2013 12:58

I would imagine it's the English adaptation of the French pronunciation, possibly a Norman name?

ClartyCarol · 08/05/2013 13:42

TheNightSky - lovestruck leprechaun Gary paid £200 to get Tina's Dad's ring back from a pawn shop where it had ended up after being stolen from the flat.

PaintedBottom · 08/05/2013 16:07

Thanks for clearing it up for me! I really am not trying to sound stupid, I've honestly never ever heard the name St John used as a first name... unless someone is actually talking about an actual Saint.... Saint John, Saint Christopher, Saint Nicholas etc. To me it just didn't make sense Sad Blush

Numberlock · 08/05/2013 16:27

Don't worry, it doesn't happen often in Lancashire either!

Bakingnovice · 08/05/2013 18:30

So I stopped watching corrie as its really shit ATM. I read the threads for confirmation that flipping fireman Paul has left. Switch on again to find he's come back! Ffs. I hate him. Hate every story he's been involved with. Hate his drippy gaping mouth, greasy hair, sweaty face, sulky acting and biscuit jackets. I'm actually even hating Eileen now cos I hate him.

And I'm sorry but how come Rob is the saviour of every business! He's been in prison for years and comes out and within months he's got a part share of the factory and bookies.

Wish Theresa's more Steve and Lloyd. In fact wish they'd give Steve a feisty love interest. Michelle is dire.

What you said, I totally, totally agree!!!

And I LOVE LOVED Corrie. And what is going on with that BORING Karl? Is he totally off the hook with the Rovers fire?

sensesworkingovertime · 08/05/2013 20:06

Baking I am so glad I am not the only one who has noticed Fireman Paul's drippy gaping mouth as you so eloquently put it - it drives me mental, MENTAL I tell you !! I wish Eileen had shoved the full cake into it, no, actually then he would have even more excuse never to close it - the man must be a dentists dream.

Also, I realise the Rovers is closed but does the world and his wife have to spend the whole time in The Bistro? Characters frequently say 'ooh lets go for a meal in the Bistro tonight' as if some sort of special treat. They're in there every flippin' night and lunchtime come to that. And enough of Peter and Carla always being in there at the same time as Rob and Toxic T. Make it stop!!

MrsSalvoMontalbano · 08/05/2013 20:12

Agree with others, very boring, no reason to watch a the mo'. glad at least Sunita and Dev out of it , but it is just boring.... only watched today as slow day at work, but otherwise would not bother.

ajandjjmum · 08/05/2013 21:57

Surely surely surely they won't let Karl get away with it......and I can't bear months of hanging on as they did with Kirsty. Just can't see how he'll be found out now.

ClartyCarol · 08/05/2013 22:57

I think Karl might crack under the strain of seeing St.Ella put through the wringer by Owen, whilst knowing it's All His Fault. He will confess all and be banged up for a long time, or maybe top himself, wracked by guilt.

I reckon we're supposed to think Michelle is feisty. Wtf was going on with her hair tonight?

More creepy Gary getting his paws on Tina, ugh make it stop. Surely Izzy isn't going to allow it to unfold right under her nose?!

Bakingnovice · 09/05/2013 08:24

Karl did confess remember? But st Ella didn't believe him. Dire script writing. What with the Karl story, Faye story, izzy/Gary/ Tina story, rob stuff corrie is rubbish. Has anyone else noticed how much bigger the houses have become? Peters flat is four times the size now, as is deirdres house and fizzs house. And I really loathe the fuzz Tyrone love fest.

OP posts:
ClartyCarol · 09/05/2013 09:59

Yeah he confessed at Sunita's funeral but it seemed like StElla took it to mean he felt responsible for Sunita's death because if she wasn't driven half loopy by the affair and the subsequent fallout, then she wouldn't have been lurking round the pub (or indeed set it alight as everyone thinks).

I think Learned will have some part to play in Karl's downfall (and please let it be soon).

ClartyCarol · 09/05/2013 10:07

Learned?! That's a laugh, meant Leanne.

whatkungfuthat · 09/05/2013 12:58

I wondered if Karl is going to attack Leanne, while saying about how he got away with killing Sunita, then Nick or someone catches him?

Ladytron · 09/05/2013 16:02

I thought it was too good to be true when Owen was taking it moderately well regarding not being paid/insurance not paying out/considering the share offer. But that lot quaffing the Pomagne brought true-colours-Owen back.
Do we think Hayley will have a sneaky peek at St John's letter to Roy?

whatkungfuthat · 09/05/2013 16:32

I reckon Glo has money that she is keeping quiet about, she looks furtive and has loads of new waterfall cardigans despite losing all her clothes in the fire. Talking of which, where did St Ella's array of bandage dresses come from?

ajandjjmum · 09/05/2013 17:33

I don't blame Owen - I thought it was pretty insensitive of Stella and co to be celebrating, when she's responsible for his company going under (virtually).

I'd have a little read if I was Hayley.

MrsSalvoMontalbano · 09/05/2013 18:00

Good point about the clothes lost in the fire! Had not thought of that, and seems the scriptwriters didn't either....Grin

alemci · 09/05/2013 18:07

Baking Novice I thought I was the only one who noticed that hideous Blouson style fashion crime of a jacket that Paul wears but even Steve Mc commented on it.
