Ah, he's ditched the whole dish. Thank goodness.

The goat went down well.

ooh-I've missed the last 40 mins of this but have just turned on to find Ray has completely ditched his Titanic dishShock though probably wiseGrin

Raahh · 27/03/2013 19:44

xpost Grin

MsNobodyAgain · 27/03/2013 19:52

I'm predicting pig (makin' bacon), the kid dish, and the bladder.

Raahh · 27/03/2013 19:56

Gah- my internet crash fecking virgin

It didn't really work, Ray's change didit?

Oodsigma · 27/03/2013 20:42

Am caught up. Happy with today's. love the bladder but I think Micheals should go through ( unless they have his doughnuts on a washing line!)

ThePavlovianCat · 28/03/2013 10:04

I think Michael's kid dish should be the one to get to the banquet. Can someone remind me about the puddings, I can only remember the dangling doughnuts.

MsNobodyAgain · 28/03/2013 10:50

Sorry. I rarely watch the pudding courses as I don't eat them. The chefs never seem interested in winning that course either.

OP posts:
Oodsigma · 28/03/2013 12:00

Sounds like there will be a twist in the final menu too. We wondered about an extra course or a combined course

Davros · 28/03/2013 19:06

That looks yum and even fun!

Davros · 28/03/2013 19:09

Maybe not then? Anyone?

MsNobodyAgain · 28/03/2013 19:41

I would be watching if DS2 wasn't hogging my tv. Recording it though.

OP posts:
JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 28/03/2013 20:08

Interesting final menu. I think it looks pretty spot on.

ThePavlovianCat · 28/03/2013 20:10

For me it should have been Colin's starter and Daniel's fish course and just Richard's pudding so they only picked the main course correctly

It will be interesting to see which guests they have at the banquet. Do you think they had to pay to go with the money going to comic relief or is it a luvvie love-in?

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 28/03/2013 20:13

I wasn't sure about Daniel's fish course.

MsNobodyAgain · 28/03/2013 21:08

Kids have hogged the TVs and my tablet. What was the final menu please?

The only thing I have to myself is my bloody phone!

OP posts:
ThePavlovianCat · 28/03/2013 21:34

Final menu was Tom's Chicken-Egg starter, Aiden's prawn cocktail that looked like a red nose, Michael's goat tajine and both Daniel's pineapple pudding and Richard's red nose on lenny henry plate pudding.

MsNobodyAgain · 29/03/2013 07:57

Thank you.

OP posts:
Ruprekt · 29/03/2013 08:38

Aiden looked shell shocked at his fish dish getting through!

OnceTom's chicken dish got through I knew the guinea fowl Wild Card would not win.

My final banquet would've been

Raymonds stout
Tom's scallops
Michael's goat
Richard's pud

So pleased for Richard Smile. lovely modest guy.

SmileSmile Delighted Peter did not get through. Talk about not reading the brief!!

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 29/03/2013 08:43

I'm pleased for Richard but I thought he was a bit rude to Mary Ann and Luke in the regionals.

I also thought Raymond's stout may get through. The other chefs really didn't rate and/or like him and you could see how that massively affected his confidence.

Oodsigma · 29/03/2013 08:43

Was surprised at the 8sfor Peter though

Oodsigma · 29/03/2013 08:48

Richard was better on the Friday than the other days. Whether that was attitude to Luke or that he relaxed more on the Friday.

Thought the camaraderie between the chefs was better this year. Peter & Raymond seemed a bit of outsiders but the others came across as matey. Didn't likeTom in previous shows but liked him this week.

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 29/03/2013 08:54

Tom was a lot more relaxed than he's been in the past and was actually trying to have fun. The banter between the chefs was great. It must be a lonely life and getting together with other chefs who are at the height of their powers must be a great opportunity for them.
Peter and Raymond are new which is perhaps why they didn't gel with the rest of the group. Peter didn't seem to understand the brief and Raymond looked massively uncomfortable through the whole process. He's probably a massive fish in a small pond in NI so having to cook alongside chefs like Daniel Clifford and Ton Aitkin was probably a but unsettling.

JulesJules · 29/03/2013 13:46

I agree with Ruprekt re the menu, but I'm happy for Daniel that his pud is included too.

Felt a bit sorry for Richard and his big red bladder - I think it must have been so unnerving, having all the other chefs watching him at the end, with waves of animosity coming off them!

Peter got the brief completely wrong - it was "Comic Relief", not "Nostalgia for my Nan's cooking"

foxache · 29/03/2013 17:01

I watched this all the way through for weeks, can't believe I've only just found this thread! Sad

It was a good result in the end, though I wanted Raymond's stout to go through. Great that they chose the two desserts.

All the chefs were a good bunch, I even liked Peter by the end.
