did it start early? is it an hour. Can't watch live, will have to catch up later.

Oodsigma · 25/03/2013 19:44

It's an hour.

ThePavlovianCat · 25/03/2013 20:07

I was a bit surprised at the final three. I thought the frogs' legs and why did the chicken cross the road? dishes should have been in the top three with the tomato dish. It's going to be an interesting banquet!

Oodsigma · 25/03/2013 21:03

Y didn't like the Irish bloke and thought the judges view on funny was inconsistent

Bilbobagginstummy · 26/03/2013 16:46

I thought Tom's dish looked the nicest - though what is it with serving chicken and pork pink? I would send it back as being undercooked!

Raahh · 26/03/2013 19:07

I'm trying to remember the fish dishes. I can't remember anything that stood out...

Raahh · 26/03/2013 19:10

ahhh, Richard with the red plates....

Raahh · 26/03/2013 19:14

the chefs aren't really marking each other fairly, are they?Grin

Raahh · 26/03/2013 19:30

ok-so 'The Codfather' is really just all about the props.

Raahh · 26/03/2013 19:46

I did like the catch of the dayone- but still think the potato basket for 100 people is a big ask.

Oodsigma · 26/03/2013 19:58

I want to try the basket.

Raahh · 26/03/2013 20:13

it looked really impressive. Am glad strange peter is being knocked down a bit- he was too smug in the regional bits.

Oodsigma · 26/03/2013 20:16

I'm happy with those 4. Thought Aidan was going to be #4 everytime so happy for him.

Dd2 isn't coping with the changing rules. She's chuntering about the ninth chef.

Oodsigma · 26/03/2013 20:16

Only chef from the heats I can imagine it being is the guy with the bladder

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 27/03/2013 10:54

There are some serious egos in that kitchen. I find Daniel fascinating. He is so confident yet was shaking like a leaf when he plated up. I loved how the other chefs thought it was hilarious.

I feel a bit sorry for Raymond. He's a great chef but the others don't think he should be in the final.

Raahh · 27/03/2013 11:02

I agree about Ray- can't wait to see what the other chefs make of his Titanic. Hopefully, he will have changed it. It made no sense, on any level-wasn't funny, was 12 months too late to be topical and above all a bit of a morbid thing to make fun of.

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 27/03/2013 11:04

I forgot about the Titanic Shock

If he hasn't changed it they'll completely crucify him!

Oodsigma · 27/03/2013 11:39

Oh that could be good. He seemed quite apart from the group though, the others were laughing & joking with each other but he just looked pissed off.

Was surprised at Daniels 10 from the chefs though, if its an average that means the majority ( if not all) were 10. He had sorted his baskets though and was much more organised.

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 27/03/2013 12:00

All the chefs must've given Daniel a 10. I don't think that's because it was the best dish (Tom's was better) but rather that Daniel is the strongest character and thinks he's the best and they've all bought into it. The reverse is true with Raymond. He may usually be confident but looks uncomfortable, hence them giving him twos. Daniel doesn't rate him and isn't afraid to say so and they're following his lead.

There's a possibility I'm overthinking this Grin

Oodsigma · 27/03/2013 12:26

I liked the Codfather best just because it actually made a stab at the brief.

MsNobodyAgain · 27/03/2013 18:49

If Ray sticks with that Titanic smoker thing I'll be astounded. Surely he can't, can he?

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 27/03/2013 19:02

Oh god, the bladder is back Shock

OP posts:
MooseBeTimeForCoffee · 27/03/2013 19:07

Surely the bladder will be seen as an interloper who doesn't belong and the chefs will treat it accordingly?

MsNobodyAgain · 27/03/2013 19:08

I can't see them judging it fairly to be honest.

ThePavlovianCat · 27/03/2013 19:11

If they wanted a wildcard for the main they could have disguised their bias by having a wildcard for each course. This "twist" is silly.
