Not sure about Luke. Surely he must be being bankrolled by his parents?

As for Mary's kitchen, I wonder when she last had a visit from Environmental Health? It looks grim.

Raahh · 20/03/2013 19:57

The piggy plate was the only funny thing there!

i am starting to think this week is unfair- how can Luke compete with experienced Michelin starred chefs (if he gets that far)- and where did they find Mary Ann. Richard has to win. It is all very odd- and none of the food has looked edible.

Oodsigma · 20/03/2013 20:35

Have you read Luke's bio? His experience has to be bank rolled as he's not near the standard of other young chefs that have been on here.
Slightly prefer Mary Ann to him very slightly but only because she seems to realise she isn't good enough.

BartletForTeamGB · 21/03/2013 10:33

Gosh, you're not joking that it is boring this week. Just caught up while feeding DD.

Luke is a child and Mary Ann (both herself and her kitchen) needs a good bath. Richard annoys me but is the best of a bad lot. Completely missing the Comic Relief brief though. Can't see any of them being any serious competition next week.

BartletForTeamGB · 21/03/2013 10:33

"witty pastry horns"

"comedy red plate"

Hmm
SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/03/2013 10:56

Mary-Ann is annoying me. And if the announcer says 'Young Gun Luke' just one more time, I may have to find my own young gun and run amok with it.

I may be a bit churlish and mean, but I do wonder how it is that Luke is a Head Chef at his age. Judging by the food he is putting out for the competition, he thinks he is an amazing chef but actually doesn't understand enough about what goes together, and taste and flavour, and how to put together a delicious plate of food, rather than a conglomeration of complicated techniques and over-ambitious food - as if the more he throws at the plate, the better the dish will be. As Mary Ann said, less is more.

Richard has to win this week, or I will be Very Cross Indeed.

bonzoed · 21/03/2013 12:02

I notice that Luke has a cook book coming out this year!?!

I would love to know who his parents are.

Oodsigma · 21/03/2013 12:05

He's certainly got a good promotional team!

Raahh · 21/03/2013 12:15

I keep thinking Luke won his place on the show in a Wales-only 'so you think you can cook' type show. Due to the lack of interest/unavailability of any 'proper' Welsh chefs. Or he's Oliver's nephewGrin

MsNobodyAgain · 21/03/2013 12:20

His Twitter page is awful. Pic of him looking like something out of 'Bros' and he retweets nearly every comment about GBM.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/03/2013 12:25

Shouldn't he be too busy running his kitchen? Hmm

bonzoed · 21/03/2013 12:25

I read a comment of his where he said that he had been inspired by Jamie who when he came on the scene was so refreshing because he wasn't about x grams of something, more just chucking things in. I find it literally incredible that a 3 year old watched the Naked Chef and thought that.

Twat.

bonzoed · 21/03/2013 12:27

And on his Twitter page his location is Chester - London - Berkshire. Not Wales?

MooseBeTimeForCoffee · 21/03/2013 14:23

The hotel, Sanctum on the Green, is owned by Andy Taylor. He manages Iron Maiden.

There's going to be a documentary on BBC3 about Luke apparently. I think I'll be descaling the cat whilst that's on.

MooseBeTimeForCoffee · 21/03/2013 14:27

Here's another thing. If Luke claims to have worked at several of the world's best restaurants how long did he work at each of them? Not too long methinks.

Oodsigma · 21/03/2013 14:28

A lot are logged as work experience which will be a couple of weeks each

MsNobodyAgain · 21/03/2013 19:38

Richard is being cocky.

ThePavlovianCat · 21/03/2013 19:42

Anyone else feeling sorry for Luke today? They all seem to be bitching at him. If he's not good enough to be there then the programme makers shouldn't have put him through.

Oodsigma · 21/03/2013 19:42

Can we choose no one this week?

MsNobodyAgain · 21/03/2013 19:44

I do feel sorry for Luke a bit. But then voiceover lady said 'school boy error' and that made me Grin

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 21/03/2013 19:45

I think that's the best looking dish Mary Ann has put up.
