I need to discuss this episode in great detail!! Can someone who has seen it please comment on what you think is the best bit? Also did you think it was very sad?

Michonne is covered in walker guts from the one that she disembowled and the entrailes spilled all over her. Because she smells like a walker, they think she is one of them and ignore her. Same as when Rick and Glenn covered themselves in guts way back at the beginning of the first series so that they could escape from Atlanta.

Yes but they really had to cover themselves in blood and guts, and they had anerve wracking walk with some close shaves. She's just mingling.

If a bit of eau de zombie was all it took to survive long term then they'd all be doing it - they'd have set up some sort of system

I guess it could make a difference this time that there are not-covered-in-zombie-guts-people on the other side of the fence, so they are focussing on them more than the woman walking next to them who smells a little bit dead?

Can Zombies smell fear? Because with Rick and Glenn they were rather suspicious and must have stank of fear then. That could've given them away (or at least to the point of suspicion).

Plus they just wiped themselves down, she was completely spilled upon...

Myself and DH are massively into this show, it's got to be just about the best thing we are watching at the moment. I wholeheartedly agree with most of your character assessments too.
In short I think the group is much better off now as they have:
Lori =Out
Michonne =In
Even with the hinderance of a newborn Michonne will make up for that with her awesomeness.

That guy will NOT put up with any racist shit from Merle, when he reappears, like T-dog used to.

Based on the principle of if you smell like a walker they are not interested why don't the prison group tie lots of captive walkers around the perimeter fence (making them harmless by cutting off their jaws and arms first)? I'd remove their voiceboxes too so they don't make that annoying zombie noise all the time and there you go, safe!

So, are the guv and the Woodbury lot planning a full on assault on the prison lot? Presumably to steal their goodies, children and women-folk and to get some fresh flesh for the captive zombies? Or do the Woodbury folk eat human flesh too??

I am just so excited about the next episode.

Will Herschel's other daughter get any lines? Yeah prob before she gets bitten.

I wondered if Andrea is just playing a big fat game? Not sure exactly what she wants to achieve but it's a thought I had.

Wonder how long til Andrea is permitted to bump into Glen and Maggie? Bet she makes their lives hell. I reckon Rick et al will pitch up Woodbury. Can't see Glen giving out the camp details. They need to protect the location for as long as possible.

Also why didnt Michonne just get Merle? She can handle 17 zombies at once, surely she could have crept up on an unsuspecting merle and had her knife in his head before he could react

Melty, I'm nervous as well, it does look like they are putting Maggie into Michonne's comic place for the Woodbury bit.

No, the books are different to the show, but they do have similar things happening to other characters.
Mind you, in the comic Sophia doesnt become walker dinner for ages, she is still alive at the prison. Carol goes bonkers so Glenn and Maggie adopt her along with 2 other kids. Oh and Lori doesnt die in childbirth and they call the baby Judith. Prefer Lil Ass Kicker myself.

Just bought S1 on DVD for dh for Xmas though don't want to wait that long to research it all. Definitely getting the book. Is it one long book or a series?

Agree Michonne is amazing, a great addition. I definitely over think this programme though. How are they sterilising the baby bottles? How will they keep it quiet when a zombie is nearby? Questions I would worry about if there was a real ZA.

Bottles can be sterilised by boiling in water. But I guess in the midst of a zombie apocalypse where everyone is infected, squeaky clean bottles may not be a priority.

And I guess they just make sure baby is always in the care of someone Daryl who is armed to he teeth and ready to tak out any walkers it may attract with its crying.

Not that if given it any real thought at all. Oh no. Not at all.

My biggest ZA fear is keeping us all alive with a very strong willed and loud 2 yo.

Yes I'm guessing sterile bottles aren't that high on their list of priorities. They may even wean early :o
That said, that baby must be at huge risk of death from infection :( poor little thing. I comfort myself with the thought that irl she / they go back to their warm safe house for a cuddle with their loving families

My DD will appear (briefly) in a TV series that will air next year. I can absolutely verify that there are very strict rules about filming with babies and they are very well treated. A parent will have been on set at all times and there are a few babies in standby in case one is feeding or too unsettled to film. if I hadn't been happy with any aspect of what was going on, I was able to call a halt and remove her but I didn't need to as we were so well looked after. Plus there's a fake baby used for any 'dangerous' scenes where GE actors ate running/fighting etc. I've already spotted TWD's fake baby although hey are incredibly realistic looking.
