munch sadly as good a theory as that it, I can conform Lori is dead.
I read an interview with the producers and writes who said that she is totally gone and that to have her wandering about as a zombie whould be disrespectful to her character.

However.....in the comics/books Rick does still have contact with her in a weird sort of a way. He constantly imagines he is on the phone to her talking and he talks/sorts thingthrough/makes decisions with her. The writers have said this is something they are willing to explore and may not mean the end of the actress appearing !!!

It was bloody brilliant though wasnt it !!!!! I havent stopped thinking about it since i watched it monday night !!

Hooray! Other people who are too impatient to wait the whole 5 days for FX to catch up Grin

They released some books which detail the Governor's back story as far as the TV series is concerned and having read them I completely understood why he killed the soldiers. There's 2 out so far of a trilogy, (book one here and book two here, I've linked to the Kindle editions but there are paperbacks too.)

Carol has to be alive, there was only 1 T-Dog sized ribcage where they found her scarf. Plus, they can't give Daryl a reason to be pissed off enough with the group to band back together with Merle.

A not very informative sneak peak for Ep 5...

Interesting that they're digging three graves. Hope Carol is ok.

Following on from Lori not actually being dead DH has read all the comics and at one point a woman is mentioned from others in a community (not the governors) and he did say that he thought it would be Lori. Although the comics are v different from the TV series

I definitely think the Governor has a no men more women thing for repopulation and that's why he shot the army guys. He has no need for more men and has sufficient security.

Cried about Lori even though I've always hated her!

Carol isn't dead IMO - if there's no body there no death...

The Governer killed the army men as he needs that community dependent upon him. It's his little kingdom and I imagine a load of trained men with plenty of skills and knowledge of what's going on out there is just the sort of thing he doesn't want upsetting the apple cart. I'm not at all shocked that he killed them. Plus, he likes having their supplies all to himself.

Lori is dead, there is no doubt in my mind. I dont think the actress would come back to schlump around as a zombie. I think they did the right thing. Her character wasn't redeemable, they did such a bad job with her. As for T-Dogg, well, I hope the writers know that we are all well aware of their replacing strategy! One black man for another? Come on! Once he had more than a few lines I knew he was a goner.

Carol isn't dead. She helps to anchor Daryl to the group, we didn't see her body, and I don't believe they would kill off another woman so soon. I don't understand why they showed her scarf though - she had it on her when she went through the door.

My theory re: Carol: she escaped through the door, running though walkers attracted to the ready meal that was T-Dog. A walker grabbed for her and caught her scarf but she escaped. Walker uses scarf as a napkin and drops it at the scene of the buffet.

And I also believe that the Guvnor didn't want the soldiers upsetting the fine balance of his carefully controlled community. They would have had the abililty and means to overthrow him/take him out as soon as they sussed that all is not as it seems in Stepford Woodbury.

I'm repeating myself about the soldiers, aren't I? Posting on two threads about TWD and can't keep up with what I've said where.

I was halfway through earlier when I lost my connection... Will try again now (just had a nice doze with the DSs!)

Will hopefully watch Ep5 this eve once DS is in bed. Apparently it contains scenes which will send the Daryl love on here through the roof Grin.

!! It sure did :)

Hmm, i read two comic spoilers recently, one re Lori and one re the governor (that the person telling me was convinced wouldnt make it into the series). It would possibly seem from this episode that they both might stay "true" to the comics...? Are we going with this thread being completely spoilery, in which case I'll write about it, or just episode by episode spoilers? actually, i think the lori one might have been upthread?

Wondering if I should read them. Any opinions?

Anyone seen Ep5?

I was really sad and downloaded it first thing this morning to watch.

MILD NON-SERIOUS SPOILER

Wasn't the best episode but having read the books I was interested to see Penny...

I watched it this afternoon.

I think my ovaries twanged a little at the sight of Daryl with the baby Grin

I thought this episode was a bit of an anticlimax after the drama of last week and still so many loose ends...where the hell is Carol? I know they dug her a grave (and I assume it's her grave that Darly left the cherokee rose on?). Why did they need such big holes when there was very little left of T-Dog, seemingly nothing of Lori and only Carol's scarf?

And who's on the phone? Is it Rick's imagination or one of those damn PPI reclaim cold callers ?

I've not read them either. DH has read them and I'll read them once I've finished current book on kindle

Maybe its Morgan? Remember Morgan Grin.

Seriously, whoever it is, someone needs to do a parody in which a guy with a thick Indian accent tries to sell Rick home insulation.

redlac, I was pissing myself over that too. Because all newborns can down 8oz.

Not the best episode but its still a great season. Carol is definitely alive. But I'm confused - what happened to Lori's body? Had that zombie eaten it?!

Hopefully Michonne turns up at the prison at some point and that's how they find out about Woodbury that way. Michonne has to turn up. She's awesome.
