Doctors Addicts Anonymous Continued - TBFE sees a SDTP wearing a waterfall cardigan and thinks 'WTF?'

MsNobodyAgain · 22/09/2012 22:01

Welcome one and all to the fan club of the afternoon soap 'Doctors'.

For any newcomers , explanations as follows:

TBFE: The Bloke From Emmerdale (Ian Kelsey who plays Howard)

SDTP: Saddo Doctors Thread Partakers (which we all think know we are but we love it anyway).

Waterfall cardi: Apparently these are a MN no-no but it's a wardrobe essential to a SDTP.

Gobbyplods: Karen and Rob Hollins, aka 'the only plod in the village'

Beanbags: are now being Freecycled and will be passed on to other lentil weavers.

Very good points Sparkling Grin

Makes I'm with you on that one.

OK. It's the first day of chocolate week and and still no Hotel Chocolat has been delivered to my door. I am officially p*ssed off now.

dRaahhcula · 08/10/2012 14:50

dd2 decided to wake up just at the end - so I missed the preview of tomorrow. They do have a habit of showing the only good bitGrin

I'd forgotten about the Gobbys' afternoon delights episode. That was icky. And Gobbyplod's hair went all fluffyGrin

No patients today- unless we count the carnation poisoning and the super quick trip to a and e!

I do not want to hear any more off Jas's sex-line calls. Ever. I think we should have a whip round and send her a cheque so she can stop moaning about money.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/10/2012 18:56

Just to go back 3 or 4 pages... Pot LeDom? Eh?

Here's a fiver for the shut-Jas-up fund

MsNobodyAgain · 08/10/2012 19:03

Makes. Pot Ledom is 'Top Model' spelt backwards. Tyra made the models do a rap incorporating the words. 'Pot, Pot, Pot Ledom'.

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 08/10/2012 19:04

By the way, I'll double the shut-Jas-up fund. Worth every penny.

OP posts:
MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/10/2012 19:39

OMG. I'm so exhausted I completely failed to spot that.

nope. Still tired, but now I have a headache.

On the plus side - we've finally got the date for completion on our house! Yay! A second bedroom for Baby Cakes, an upstairs and downstairs so hopefully some sleep at last (ie- screaming baby can be taken downstairs out of hearing range), a little garden, a bath!!! a washing machine that drains properly (or I bloody hope so because it's new), a loft to put stuff in, a shed to put stuff in, cupboards to put stuff in, an airing cupboard to put damp stuff in (and bread dough)

And we'll be walking distance of town so I don;t have to keep putting a grumpy baby in and out of the car every day.

Sorry for the monologue. I can't let it out on FB because there are people who we don't want knowing that we're moving or where to.

MsNobodyAgain · 08/10/2012 19:49

Makes the move sounds like bliss. Good luck. x

(And I often share non Doctors stuff on this thread because you're all my virtual friends which makes me a bit of a saddo but I don't care Grin )

OP posts:
MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/10/2012 20:06

We're all Saddos together, MsN - admitting it is the first step to recovery xx

BiscuitNibbler · 08/10/2012 21:34

Finally sitting down to watch - thanks for the cheese and biscuits, MsN.

Karen has definitely lost weight recently.

Cherry has been bathing in Cuprinol.

Congratulations, Makes! It sounds perfect!

I like that we share personal stuff. A lot of it is more exciting than the Doctors storylines. I'm happy to be a saddo. My exciting life event today is making 6 jars of mincemeat, therefore anyone else's news is bound to be far more exciting than mine.

This whole childminder-has-a-powercut is probably one of the most tenuous links to a story I have seen on Doctors, and that is saying something.

BiscuitNibbler · 08/10/2012 21:37

Agree that Jas has very quick finishers. Hmm

I also thought that they got paid by the minute - don't they make their money from the premium phone lines?

BiscuitNibbler · 08/10/2012 21:38

Elvis???

BiscuitNibbler · 08/10/2012 21:40

I hope Jas and Kevin don't get it on.

MsNobodyAgain · 08/10/2012 21:44

You're welcome Biscuit

(pssssssst: do you wanna buy a watch? I have a thread going on in chat)

I'm joking Grin. Only about you buying it, not about the thread.

Jas and Kevin can't get it on. It would be wrong. I don't know why, but they are not suited and Kevins mine, all mine

OP posts:
BiscuitNibbler · 08/10/2012 21:47

What?? Off to investigate.

Has Jimmi got a colour rinse in his hair today??

BiscuitNibbler · 08/10/2012 22:03

Well I have just read your watch thread.

I agree with the general consensus - sell it and spend the money on something you love.

Forget about what it cost originally. It isn't worth a penny sat in a drawer, so better to get something rather than nothing.

A couple of years ago I took all the gold jewellery I had been given over the years that I never wore / hated / was from ex-boyfriends / had bad associations and sold it. Amazingly I got enough to buy a good watch which I wear every day.

Buy yourself something lovely, you deserve it.

MsNobodyAgain · 09/10/2012 07:49

You're right. I just needed 'permission' if you like. Daft how a watch can bring back so many memories. I still live in the ex marital home and I don't have a problem with that.

OP posts:
MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/10/2012 08:28

oh fuck. I've put my back out. I basically just dropped my sleeping baby into his cot because the pain was so sharp and sudden. Lucky for me he sleeps like a bloody log once he's out unless somethng internal bothers him.

Now what the fuck do I do? Stuck outside town, there's no way in hell I can get him into the car to go to the doctors - hell - I'm not sure I'll be able to lift him out of his bed when he wakes. I can't call DH back, he only has 2 days of annual leave left and we're saving them for the house move.

Fuck fuck fuck. Am sitting here in tears. What's the betting the receptionist is going to be about as useful as a chocolate teapot?

Ok. GP lines open now. bbiab

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/10/2012 08:33

OK. Got a 9.20am appointment for Baby Cake's earache/cough. Guess 'll just have to take a leather strap to bite on when I'm putting him in his car seat, huh?

MsNobodyAgain · 09/10/2012 09:29

Ouch makes. Poor you. Xxx

Glad you got an appointment. Let us know how you get on. Real life doctor action is never good. Sad

OP posts:
BiscuitNibbler · 09/10/2012 10:28

Oh Makes, poor you.

This is why I plan to move to Leatherbridge. You would have a home visit within 5 minutes and the receptionist would look after your baby for you.

Glad you are going to buy yourself something lovely, MsN. You must let us know what you choose.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/10/2012 10:33

just a cold.

I'm n agony. Wsh Gobby was here. She and BabyCakes could use up all their surplus energy on each other and i could have the world's longest shower...

any ideas what you're going to buy MrsN?

TheAngelshavetheOod · 09/10/2012 12:40

makescakes chocolate week? worried I missed a memo and box of chocolate

MsNobodyAgain · 09/10/2012 12:41

Hope you got some painkillers Makes.

Once I get my backside in to gear and don't have to spend another day at school , I think I fancy buying a necklace. Something classic. Smile

OP posts:
dRaahhcula · 09/10/2012 13:47

ooh, a necklace sounds nice. Nothing too Elaine-esque thoughGrin

Last Christmas, and my 40th, dh really wanted get me an eternity ring. Nothing majorly expensive, but we couldn't really afford it. Anyway, i had a stash of gold from my teenage years when wearing 8 gold chains at once was fashionableGrin- and he sold his wedding ring from his first marriage Grin and in the end my lovely ring cost us £14. I was very chuffed.

'I'm free' oh dearGrin
