Well, it's the Final.

It deserves it's own thread.

Rooting for Roger. COME ON ROGER !

Federer is 2-1 sets ahead, but they're level in the 4th set. If Federer wins this set, the match is over and he wins; if Murray wins, they go to a 5th set and whoever wins that wins the match.

JackieandJudy · 08/07/2012 17:52

Go ON Rog

LetUsPrey · 08/07/2012 17:52

I'm going to cry.

Waaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hownoobrooncoo · 08/07/2012 17:52

Murray is British, let the bloody crowd get behind him and let the bloody commentators get behind him. Fed I'd a great player, no one doubts that.

gobblegobs · 08/07/2012 17:53

Finally! Roger is the best indoors player

LadyBeagleEyes · 08/07/2012 17:53

I can't see Andy pulling it off now Sad

MrsVamos · 08/07/2012 17:53

That would make sense Jellykat if Murray had been the underdog. The general opinion of those 'in the know' with regards to tennis was that Murray's record against Roger is good, so he should win.

They ranted the other day about how great he is indoors/under the roof, yet when it started raining today, Sue 'turncoat' Barker whinged that it would favour Roger.

Sue is usually lovely, and has always adored Fed, we all know that, her about face today has been horrible, I thought.

Thank you sayanything Grin

Rog is a great player - you cannot argue with that.

However you cannot argue that although tiring now it seems Murray has given him a run for his money so far.

TBF Rog is only 1 set up atm and Murray could win this game making it more interesting.

MrsVamos · 08/07/2012 17:54

I think if it goes to 5 Roger will win.

Jellykat · 08/07/2012 17:56

But as far as Wimbledons' concerned surely Murray is the underdog? he's never been in a final starters..

LadyBeagleEyes · 08/07/2012 17:56

I think if it was an American in the Us Open, An Aussie in the Australian or a Frenchman in the Roland Garros, the home commentators would be exactly the same.

StarlightWithAsteroid · 08/07/2012 17:58

DD (3) asked if Doctor Who was there to save Murray!

Jellykat · 08/07/2012 17:58

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

MrsVamos · 08/07/2012 17:59

No, Jellycat, he wasn't ! They look at all the Slams and tournaments to gauge their ability to defeat another player.

Just going on what I have heard from the various 'experts' etc...although I am still trying to work out what makes John Lloyd and Andrew Castle experts. Grin

I'm only here as distraction from the stress.
Where are my smelling salts?

sayanythingrogerjustrogerme · 08/07/2012 18:00

I think if it goes to a 5th Murray could win it - don't forget Roger is an old man.

SirEdmundFrillary · 08/07/2012 18:00

Oof. Confirmed by PM. That's OK then.

sayanythingrogerjustrogerme · 08/07/2012 18:02

Someone is actually wearing that newspaper hat!

LetUsPrey · 08/07/2012 18:02

Should Federererer win this match, I will after the initial sting and sulk, be very happy for him. He will have equalled Sampras' record of seven Wimbledon wins and I've forgotten how many slams.

If Federererer was playing anyone else but Murray, I'd want Federererer to win.

JackieandJudy · 08/07/2012 18:02

Oh, woman wearing Daily Mail hat!

bananaistheanswer · 08/07/2012 18:02

I think in terms of experience and finals, Federerererer has the edge, given the number he's won. That makes him favourite, irrespective of his current ranking, or head to head stats against Murray. The head to head stats don't really give an accurate picture really, as it all depends on what stage of the competition each won against the other. Seeing as Murray has yet to win a grand slam, I still say he's the underdog here.

messyisthenewtidy · 08/07/2012 18:02

You'd've thought Fed could let us win this one, seeing as it's our Jubilee & Olymics year and all.....

LetUsPrey · 08/07/2012 18:03

Not saying that the number of slams will equal Sampras'. I'm sort of losing the power of coherent thought.

MrsVamos · 08/07/2012 18:04

Come on, Roger !
