Well, it's the Final.

It deserves it's own thread.

Rooting for Roger. COME ON ROGER !

Has anyone seen the Outnumbered clip on his website? Quite funny, and he does well - good quote "Are you Scottish or British?" AM "Depends if I win"

PuffPants · 08/07/2012 23:00

Did anyone notice how Federer immediately put his Rolex (or similar) on after the match? Was he paid extra to do that?

PuffPants - another player, I think it was Ferrer, put his watch back on after one of his matches. No idea of the make but it was enormous. I'm sure I wouldn't have missed it if he'd been playing with it on. Actually, he'd have had difficulty lifting his arm.

My point - yes, there is one there somewhere Grin - is that maybe he just doesn't like playing with his watch on. OTOH, maybe it was sponsorship.

Forgive me, it's late and I'm talking crap. Blush

NoComet · 08/07/2012 23:51

Sponsors I'm sure.

Did any one watch the mixed! Great fun!

The number of empty seats was an absolute disgrace. It was only 8pm, so surely not the need to catch the last tube.

Surely they should do returns, there must have been plenty of wet people on the hill who would have loved to come and watch in the dry.

NoComet · 08/07/2012 23:57

I will try and cheer for Andy in the Olympics, a home gold would be good!

(I certainly don't do the England/Scotland rubbish, I'm an English lass brought up in Wales. I always put British on forms if at all possible.)

But I'm glad Federer won Wimbledon and equalled Sampras, he bored my witless too.

NoComet · 08/07/2012 23:59

Me witlessBlush

Sorry I can't blame autocorrect or booze, that's just my dyslexic brain cell.

LetUsPrey · 09/07/2012 00:08

I'm with you on the Sampras thing StarBallBunny. Great player, seemed like a nice bloke, but ever so slightly dull.

But someone boring your witless did make me Grin.

Stilla · 09/07/2012 00:11

Well......thank you all for your company the last 2 weeks , can someone please 'knock on' for me for Olympic tennis Grin
Thank you

(arrrggh ...bed or highlights !)

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 09/07/2012 09:57

Fantastic match. Andy did himself proud; Roger is probably the best grass-court player there's ever been, and he had to bring out his very best tennis to win.

I luv Andy. I was in bits at his speech at the end.

Roll on next year! Love you all! [hearts] [kisses]

MrsVamos · 09/07/2012 12:38

Maryz

Clean the house ? Now why, with 2 dogs, 3 cats, 1 hamster, 1 bird and 2 DCs would I want to do that ?

DH can do it anyway. Grin

I have to read up and prepare for not only the 'lympic tennis, but other sports too !

Anyone up for more 'sporty' threads ?

Me, me, me MrsV! I'm getting huge anyway, so bar work, I won't be moving far from my sofa and I think it's important for the foetus's development to watch other people exert themselves Grin.

I only really watch the athletics.
I think the sprinters are sport's elite in fitness and sexiness.
I'll be on holiday though so may well miss them.

Raahh · 09/07/2012 14:50

sayanything- Grin ' other people exerting themselves.

that reminds me of when we go to my mum's and she says to dd2, things like 'that's a vacuum cleaner. Bet you don't know what that does, do you, dd2' Sarcy. We have hard wood floors. ignores hall, stairs, and landing. And bedrooms

I'm missing tennis. But I had my Doctors fix todayGrin

I'm def in for the Olympics. Any excuse to do nowt is fine by me. and just to piss people off, I will be supporting Spain. And Trinidad and Tobago

LadyBeagleEyes · 09/07/2012 15:29

I'll be supporting Jamaica.

Stilla · 09/07/2012 15:29

I'm in Mrs V , love the Olympics (and F1 and rugby )

Grin @ Raahh , we'll have people wandering in and having a go about not being patriotic !

I'm happy to support on looks not nationality
I'm all for that way of thinking !

Raahh · 09/07/2012 18:06

Grin@ *Maryz

I am hoping Michael Johnson will make an appearance in the commentary team. He makes my nethers go funny.

LetUsPrey · 09/07/2012 18:30

I'll be watching various Olympic events. Oddly, I can't think of any sportsman I actually fancy so I'll primarily support Team GB but I'm happy to keep my options open.

DatingDilemma · 10/07/2012 17:09

I think Andy got a huge amount of support and did himself a lot of good for the future by showing how much he cared

Raahh · 11/07/2012 21:50
