Mad Men: how much does Megan know?

So, last episode showed that Don has told her about being married to Anna, so has he told her the rest? About actually being Dick Whitman? I suspect not, but surely he knows it's only a matter of time before Betty decides to drop the bombshell... What do other MM fans think?

Brightness, my first bf was called Kevin too.

My DP is called Kevin!

Hanleyhigh · 22/05/2012 22:08

Megan called him Dick when they were in bed a few episodes ago.

I have assumed all the way along the Roger knew the baby was his! Now I have to ask dh what he's been thinking...

PatTheHammer · 22/05/2012 22:14

Roger gets all the best lines.....what a legend!

I love Megan too, but still hate her a tiny bit for 'Zooby zooby zoo'......

lovelychops · 22/05/2012 22:20

I love Roger's office! He is a legend.

Think 'zooby zoo' is what made me love Megan. Wrong I know...

How touching was that bar scene? I never really knew what he thought about Joan.

BrightnessFalls · 22/05/2012 22:48

She shouldve danced with him! Smile

33goingon64 · 23/05/2012 19:30

What bar scene? Tell tell!

Last weeks episode? The Xmas one.

MuddyDogs · 27/05/2012 23:40

Agree, Brightness. It was neat to see their characters together. Roger knows Kevin is his (spoiler?).

BrightnessFalls · 28/05/2012 18:47

We know he does, they discussed why Joan wouldnt take any maintenence last week.

Oh, they must only be a couple more left Sad

YouGoonie · 29/05/2012 22:52

I can't believe Joan agreed to sleep with that man tonight. Is it me or did it seem out of character for her?

MuddyDogs · 29/05/2012 22:55

I know! Can't believe she'd do it BUT I think that she did it in such a way as to be left a mystery (ie; did she or didn't she?). When Don came to the apartment to talk her down he didn't know that she'd already "done the deed", right?

YouGoonie · 29/05/2012 23:00

Yeah, I think when Don came to her apartment he thought it was before she was going to do it and it was only when she came in for the partner's meeting he realised she'd gone through with it.
Do you think she'd have done it if she'd known Don had been against it though?

Wheezo · 29/05/2012 23:00

I thought it was out of character. It occurred to me that Roger did not speak to her directly like Lane or Don (too late) and there was kind of a revenge kick to it. I'm really hoping they don't renege on their 5% partnership offer. Did she receive the documents within 24 hours in the last episode? I missed it if she did.

MuddyDogs · 29/05/2012 23:08

Don't think it was very wise of her to let Pete be privy to that information though. He's a weasel.

YouGoonie · 29/05/2012 23:09

I didn't see the papers either :-(
I'm wondering if this episode was more about Don losing control- Megan potentially going to Boston if she'd won the part,Joan sleeping with sleazy Jaguar man, Don being outvoted about Joan sleeping with sleazy Jaguar man, Peggy leaving.
I can't figure Don out at all this season!

icapturethecastle · 29/05/2012 23:57

Love the ending when Peggy smiles and then the The Kinks. Did Joan realise what had just happened.

BooMagoo · 30/05/2012 09:39

I'm disappointed in Joan, sleeping with Jagman. Why did she smile when she saw Peggy leaving? Does she think Peggy's going because she's been made partner?

bettys · 30/05/2012 09:46

I think the episode was partly about Don losing control (partners voting without him, winning Jaguar maybe not being just down to their ideas), and also about the fact that all the women he loves leave him in some way. His mother (death), Betty (divorce), Anna (death), Megan (work), Joan (disappointment - not sure if he thinks it was her decision or she was coerced into it), and Peggy (resigning). There was such loss in the way he said goodby to Peggy.

It's been suggested on another forum that he crashes somehow and Peggy picks him up. I'm hoping for a new agency, Draper Olsson.

bettys · 30/05/2012 09:52

Joan looked like she was smiling in a fake way at the person she was talking to, to me.

YouGoonie · 30/05/2012 12:20

Maybe the ending was to show the differences between Joan and Peggy. Don basically told her to name her salary but she wasn't there for the money, whereas Joan took money. I felt Peggy was a 'modern' woman when she smiled and the Kinks started. Can't believe she's gone though!

BrightnessFalls · 30/05/2012 18:54

I hope it's not for good.

Cabbageflowers · 31/05/2012 01:53

Gosh, what a brilliant episode that was. Only two episodes left, however Sad It's the only TV programme I watch nowadays other than Countryfile (only a little different, then).

I really disliked Megan and Zoobey Zoo, though find I am warming to her, but not at the expense of Betty's presence. I liked her character very much.

Nancy66 · 31/05/2012 09:05

I loved the final scene between Don and Peggy - really moving.

Don helped Peggy out when she had the baby - their relationship is one of the few genuine, affectionate ones he's had in his life.

Re. Joan I think she did it because she's a single mother and she saw it as a way of ensuring her future. Really good episode, best of the series I thought.
