Mad Men: how much does Megan know?

So, last episode showed that Don has told her about being married to Anna, so has he told her the rest? About actually being Dick Whitman? I suspect not, but surely he knows it's only a matter of time before Betty decides to drop the bombshell... What do other MM fans think?

I do miss that, oddly enough.

Yes, Roger is great isn't he.

The preview of the finale looked rather promising I thought!

TheNightWatch · 06/06/2012 19:43

I have last nights to look forward to tomorrow night. I do feel sorry for my friends that haven't got sky. It seems so unfair.

kickingKcurlyC · 06/06/2012 21:55

Breaking Bad is good. But it's no Mad Men.

AllOverIt · 07/06/2012 06:55

The Guardian does a brilliant Mad Men blog which often explains some of the stuff I find confusing! Love Mad Men. Can't believe there's only one left Sad

RnB · 07/06/2012 07:52

Breaking bad is as fantastic as Mad Men but in a totally different way.

TheNightWatch · 07/06/2012 17:01

That blog is amazing!! thanks for pointing it out.

Im saving this weeks for tonight, with a nice bottle of wine.

TheNightWatch · 07/06/2012 22:27

Ive just watched it. I saw it coming Sad

akaemmafrost · 07/06/2012 22:44

I am catching up on the last four episodes tonight. Why don't I like Megan? I just really, really do not like her, she irritates me.

Anyone see John Hamm on Graham Norton last week? Extremely funny and charismatic.

MrsBovary · 07/06/2012 22:50

I really dislike Megan too. The blog descibed her as The Perfect One, which quite sums it up for me. I preferred Betty even with all her flaws.

I loved the blog by the way, and I never would have noticed details like the significance of camera angles used and so on. Interesting.

TheNightWatch · 07/06/2012 22:51

Yes, I put a link up to that interview with his partner in the Guardian last week. Very interesting. He is not abit like Don in real life.

I dont want to talk about this weeks now incase you havent seen it. The season got better I have to say. Megan has grown on me big time.

Only one left Sad

maudpringle · 08/06/2012 16:18

Blimey-what an episode

TheNightWatch · 08/06/2012 17:01

I was so glad to see Betty back.

TheNightWatch · 08/06/2012 17:03

I do find it strange that she hasn't had a scene with Don all series. I know it's because of her rl pregnancy and she probably didn't even film at the same time as the others, it just feels strange.

akaemmafrost · 08/06/2012 22:24

Anyone get the symbolism of the lift shaft? It felt like "a moment" but I didn't get it Confused.

TheNightWatch · 08/06/2012 22:29

something to do with the fact that we didnt know whether the lift was there or not?

I dont know, I try not to overthink Mad Men as it spoils my enjoyment or maybe Im too thick Smile

lovelychops · 09/06/2012 11:51

Have just caught up with my Mad Men viewing and I'm up to date. Wow really impressed with the last episode. Really felt for Lane.

Agree with those who've said they preferred Don when he was bad, although I do like to see that he is capable of being faithful in the right relationship. I don't find him attractive in this series though... I also love all of Megan's clothes. (shallow). I'm off to study the Guardian blog so I can offer some more highbrow musings!

TheNightWatch · 09/06/2012 11:57

The comments after that blog does amuse me, theres literally hundreds and, all of them terribly swotty. Can you imagine if our telly threads went that way? Smile

CeliaFate · 09/06/2012 19:36

I think the symbolism of the lift shaft is to show how fleeting their security is. They never know if the ground will open beneath them - ie they lose an account, or screw up like Lane did with the money. Then everything that was and should be secure falls away.

CeliaFate · 09/06/2012 19:40

Or perhaps it's that nobody had called the repair bloke. Grin

MrsBovary · 09/06/2012 19:44

What was the symbolism behind Sally's pouring the sugar? If any.

RnB · 09/06/2012 19:47

Lol Celia Smile

lovelychops · 10/06/2012 09:25

According to some, the symbolism of Sally pouring the sugar could mean one of many things. Anything from symbolising snow, a reaction to Betty's enforced Weight Watchers regime, or as I choose to believe - the fact that she's old enough to order a coffee but still so young that she needs sugar to be able to drink it.
Something to do with her being on the cusp of adolescence. Or something.
And, apparently the whole scene with Sally and Glen at the museum was all a big reference to Catcher In The Rye. Apparently. Grin

TheNightWatch · 10/06/2012 11:06

Oh, I thought it was because she was due on and had a sugar craving.

I never, really.

Was their an age limit for drinking coffee?

Happyasapiginshite · 10/06/2012 13:26

I just saw the episode last night.

So sad about Lane. Joan is a brilliant actress, she played it so well.

I loved that Sally went home to her mother when she got her period. Poor Betty just doesn't know how to love but I thought the scene with the two of them on the bed was just lovely.

MrsBovary · 11/06/2012 22:10

Yes, lovelychops, that makes perfect sense. Her age and being brought coffee, but still needing the sugar.

That was an interesting, if quiet final episode.
