Think it may go one of two ways... watching with interest... anyone else?

Im watching, i posted about this in Chat. Wilf is autistic and i am finding it very hard to watch!!! Sad

Grockle · 19/04/2012 21:08

Watching with interest too

Chubfuddler · 19/04/2012 21:08

It's v v interesting. I don't know anything about autism so can't comment.

DontForgetTheLightAlesLawrence · 19/04/2012 21:09

Me. I've no direct experience of living with autism, but I do have an interest because of my work.

abitcoldupnorth · 19/04/2012 21:09

Yes, me too. Have liked LT's work before ...

Grockle · 19/04/2012 21:09

Don't like the talking about the young people right in front of them as if they're not there

Grockle · 19/04/2012 21:11

Am wondering why he went to the US to do this - why not look at British families?

abitcoldupnorth · 19/04/2012 21:12

Probably had a deal with a US network also?

abitcoldupnorth · 19/04/2012 21:13

gosh, do they really have to restrain him like that?

aw poor boy Sad

FrillyMilly · 19/04/2012 21:14

I'm interested in watching it as my sister looks after children who are severely autistic. Good on the mum for wanting people to see the extremes of her sons behaviour.

LottieJenkins · 19/04/2012 21:14

Im crying watching this!!! Sad

Grockle · 19/04/2012 21:15

Maybe. Shame they couldn't have filmed in the UK though.

lisad123 · 19/04/2012 21:15

I have two autistic kids. I would never consider that behaviour enough for restraint!

Grockle · 19/04/2012 21:15

Hard, isn't it, Lottie?

mrspink27 · 19/04/2012 21:16

Hard to watch Lottie - hard to watch the restraint approach. But admire the mother for wanting it to be filmed.

OP posts:
Grockle · 19/04/2012 21:16

Me neither, Lisa. Interesting to see how they react.

FrillyMilly · 19/04/2012 21:17

Is there a school in the uk just for autistic children? I thought that was why he was in America.

Grockle · 19/04/2012 21:18

There are lots of schools in the UK for Autistic children.

lisad123 · 19/04/2012 21:18

There is a number of schools for autism in uk. Dd2 went to a autism school since two.

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 19/04/2012 21:19

They weren't restraining him I suspect they were using deep pressure to help calm him, I think if it had been a restraint there would've been more of a battle.

DontForgetTheLightAlesLawrence · 19/04/2012 21:20

I'm sure there's more than one, Frilly.

There's a school for children with autism near me. It can't be the only one?

FrillyMilly · 19/04/2012 21:20

Ah right I wasn't sure.

Nicky and his mum are wonderful!

OddBoots · 19/04/2012 21:20

I'm watching on delay. I'm sure there is a reason for filming in the US.

LottieJenkins · 19/04/2012 21:21

Wilf is deaf and autistic, there isnt much out there for d/a children! I find that they either deal with autistic children or deaf children. Not both!! Hmm

Grockle · 19/04/2012 21:22

The woman was applying deep pressure but the man was holding his legs & restraining him
