Think it may go one of two ways... watching with interest... anyone else?

Sit here! Aww, lovely.

moosemama · 19/04/2012 21:56

I'd take jingle bells over Barney the blooming dinosaur any day.

Mind you, my ds sings 'hey macaroni, macaroni, macaroni' to the tune of the macarena incessantly. Now that can get a tad annoying. Grin

Bohica · 19/04/2012 21:56

I'm watching on delay and I'm trying not to cry.

onanightlikethis · 19/04/2012 21:57

festi · 19/04/2012 21:57

I thought that was just a brilliant program. I heart Louis.

Grockle · 19/04/2012 22:01

Don't get me started, Leonie!

FrillyMilly · 19/04/2012 22:02

Does anyone know how it works with the private systems they have over there? For example would health insurance cover getting an autism diagnosis?

FrillyMilly · 19/04/2012 22:03

X post! Gather it's not that good then.

That's what I thought Leonie.

Nicky perhaps had the most in common with my ds, but even then only slightly.

I think that's kind of the point though and one of the mum's did start to explain how it's such a wide spectrum and no two children will present the same. I felt they could have made that clearer, but then again, its media and not there to provide a balanced view.

Grockle · 19/04/2012 22:21

I didn't see much of my children in it either - severely autistic, mainly non-verbal but often happy, funny and sociable (on their terms). Nice to see a programme that showed some of the difficulties that families with autistic children have to cope with. And nice that it wasn't all focussed on shocking behaviour.

I'm constantly amazed at how little most people know about autism.
