Anyone watching?

Tara's a cow. Rupert's a prick.

Tara's husband is terrified he won't be able to see his kids as much.

Rupert doesn't seem to give a flying f*ck.

is Tara the one who's leaving cos she's not "in love"? grrrrrr.

expatinscotland · 31/01/2006 21:36

Yes. She's not 'in love' anymore. And so she has to be 'a bit selfish'. Just a bit, eh? What a bitch.

Rupert is the one who left his wife for another woman and her kid and now can't be arsed to fly into the UK to see his kids, he wants them sent to him. His wife had a baby and he went out on the piss w/his pals for a 24-hour binge.

I'd have dumped his book ass right then and there.

The only clued-up one in that family is the 10-year-old daughter.

"I didn;t give up my rights to a life" call me a closet family values Tory (I generally masquarade as a lefty) but I'm afraid that - to an extent - you DO give up some rights when you have children and you certainly take on the responsibility to put them first. In fairness perhaps Tara is deeply unhappy and not saying much about it, but taking her on face value I think she is being naive and selfish and possibly hasn't got a clue what affect divorce has on kids. I have a lot of respect for the American women - especially as she's motivated by her own experience

alexsmum · 31/01/2006 21:44

am watching this in tears.yes tara is a selfish cow. rupert is a total knobhead.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 31/01/2006 21:47

oh dear. i hope I never meet Rupert. what a f&ing W&KEr what a clueless selfish IDIOT aaarrrrrgh

expatinscotland · 31/01/2006 21:47

i feel the same way, woman. i'm VERY liberal, but i have a strong sense of personal responsibility. don't want your life compromised? don't f*cking have kids. end of. this isn't the 1950s, there's reliable birth control out there for free, ther's saying 'no', etc.

It does make you really appreciate the impact a divorce has on kids.
DB is going through a very nasty one at the moment.... really makes me work on my marriage!

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 31/01/2006 21:48

scuse my language. he genuinely DOES NOT CARE

expatinscotland · 31/01/2006 21:48

god forbid rupert be inconvenienced b/c of his kids.

Rupert is a smug, self-satisfied knob, living with a page 3 lookey-likey.

Turquoise · 31/01/2006 21:50

he really thinks that everythings ok doesn't he? his poor ex at home having to pick up the pieces every time the little boy comes home. and isn;t he wonderful buying his daughter a horse and then blaming the horse for lack of contact.

expatinscotland · 31/01/2006 21:53

the way he was so matter of fact about it, like, 'oh, it's such a hassle to come to the UK, i have to get a hotel and lahddydah.'

OP posts:
thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 31/01/2006 21:56

ohhhh hugs to Colin. when my parents split I knew what Dad was going to say and I prayed and prayed in my head that he was going to say "mum and me have decided". how perceptive of Colin to realise - especially when he's pretty much gutted

How old is Donna?
