expatinscotland · 31/01/2006 22:00

Nearly didnt wathc this - my brother didnt as said it would make him want to punch my H

My husband IS Rupert !!
I am his wife

My husband will THINK he is Tara "I love my kids but I deserve more" while her poor husband who has been working hard will lose everything

rupertthewanker · 31/01/2006 22:02

god i love mine.

Turquoise · 31/01/2006 22:02

He was unbelievable! It's 'cool' that his 7 yo can fly alone so he doesn't have to bother with a hotel and all the hassle.
The sad thing with men like that is that when he loses them both for good, he won't actually care much anyway.

mistressmiggins · 31/01/2006 22:03

AND did you notice that the woman Rupert gave his family up for is no longer on the scene - now has Barby Donna

alexsmum · 31/01/2006 22:03

i felt so sorry for tara's husband.
just what did she expect marriage to be? a 24 hour love fest for the rest of your life?
that's why your wedding vows say-for better and worse. it was like she was in la la land.
what does she think life is going to be like after they have split? some knight on a white going to sweep her off her feet? grow up.

pupuce · 31/01/2006 22:03

I don't think you can realise HOW BAD a divorce can make your life. My DB certaibly did - though I did kind of warn him... it's hell... they are fighting over everything, he can't move to another town for his job which he should have done (he got a promotion) but has chosen to stay so that he can have his kids every other week - though she is fighting tooth and mail against it....
Really nasty and she has warned him it will be war ! Lovely......

rupertthewanker · 31/01/2006 22:05

as ds 3 woudl say its "wobbish"

my dad forgot my birthday, ONe occassion when he remembered he came round to give me a present and my mum = despite being the injured party (typical affair scenario) begged him to stay for our little birthday tea. he refused. and it still has the power to make me cry more than 20 years later. never underestimate the impact of divorce. on the whole children protect their parents from the truth - I could never tell either of them the depth of the impact

rupertthewanker · 31/01/2006 22:05

shit i missed the hwole tara thing
si she th ginger

Earlybird · 31/01/2006 22:06

It's great that these families are trying to get help through such a difficult experience. But, I am amazed that they would allow this process to be filmed. Can't imagine how the kids will feel when they're older and watch the show.

Am I the only one that bets Rupert's ex is single? Also wonder if his current girlfriend is the Scottish one he moved in with while married, or if it's another.

rupertthewanker · 31/01/2006 22:06

lol caught dh out ghetting ds3s d.o.b one day out
how we laughed har de ahr

alexsmum · 31/01/2006 22:06

i think what's annoying is that she isn't unhappy for any particular reason.

mistressmiggins · 31/01/2006 22:06

I am trying really hard and see myself in the same position as Rupert's wife - whjo I thought was lovely when trying to comfort crying son

my H lives miles away and thinks phoning every night is enough - cant understand why DS (nrly 4) has refused to speak to him the last 3 nights - I managed to get him to say "hello" tonight but thats it

Feistybird · 31/01/2006 22:06

Have some sympathy with Tara.

Rupert however is a F*ckwit

Turquoise · 31/01/2006 22:07

I agree with you Rickman - there was probably more to it.
Reserve pure unalloyed hate vibes for Rupert I say.

alexsmum · 31/01/2006 22:07

i think it's someone different. the scottish girl had kids.

rupertthewanker · 31/01/2006 22:08

but imo i woudl have said to dd" ok sorry but you are going" and also played up "but you;ll see daddy again and have more fun" think you have to be positive about he ex even if oyud rather shove your head in burnign chip far

rupertthewanker · 31/01/2006 22:08

fat

mistressmiggins · 31/01/2006 22:09

Rickman - I see what you mean about Tara but I suppose thats editing & not knowing the full story - her husband was devastated

Rupert on the other hand is a selfish tw@t

Feistybird · 31/01/2006 22:09

My bf was married to a bloke like Tara's husband - nice but dull. She had no kids however when they divorced.

Tara and thingy tried Relate tho, they did what they could. I have some sympathy with her.

miggy · 31/01/2006 22:09

So glad that we are all completely in agreement about the utter idiocy of Tara and Rupert.
Poor colin nearly made me cry when he was trying not to cry, and how noble of him not to blame it all on Tara, think he should have just said "sorry kids your mum is a selfish cow and shes chucking me out"
Cod-Why would you have made the DD go-fly out to dad and evil barbie, all on her own when she was crying not to go. Fair enough if he made a bit of an effort-which he obv wasnt going to.
