Did anyone see that coming with Jenny? And do we think Peter is going to get back together with Leanne soon?

Think the ending was brilliant - focusing on all the prime suspects in that menacing way.

On a tangent, but what do that put in the water on coronation street: all the 70somethings are completely rampant!

Bossybritches22 · 17/03/2012 10:15

Agreed the plot could twist yet....although my money's still on Ann, what was Michelle doing leaving the factory so furtively ??

Lee think you could be right, Jenny has been very quiet considering she's been duped out of a good deal AND lost her lover.

I think the storyline with Elaine, Paul & Lesley is very brave.

Situations with younger Alzheimers sufferers are becoming more apparent, it's so difficult, and Elaine's character is struggling with the ethical side of it as people do in RL.

I had a chum who's father died years after being diagnosed with Alzheimers, she said they lost him twice once when he lost his mind & then later when the body went.

whatkungfuthat · 17/03/2012 13:31

Totally off topic but does anyone remember how Audrey signed the salon over to David against Gail's wishes? I wonder if that will prove to be significant now that Lewis is back?

Bossybritches22 · 17/03/2012 15:31

Oh a new plot idea......Jenny and Ann went back into the factory to find Frank & overheard him confess to Carla that he raped her, in a fury that she has been lied to & he is the scum that he appears to be Jenny lashes out witnessed by Ann & scarpers. Ann takes the watch off Frank as it was her beloved DH's but is now consumed with guilt & grief that she knows what happened.
Grin I have accused by DD2 of over thinking this plotline!

LineRunner · 17/03/2012 18:19

I wish the actual writers remembered as much as MN about the previous plotlines, OP!

noyouhavehadawee · 17/03/2012 21:12

Mum fought with him as overheard him admitting he raped carla, he fell down stairs and sh nicked watch thinking he just unconscious, Jenny has conatcted michelle to destroy some files so that she has no link and then when ann goes down for manslaughter jenny gives all business to carla like out of guilt for being a twat. that would be my reckoning anyway.

Clawdy · 18/03/2012 09:51

But why would his Mum take the watch? As his mother she would have received all his personal effects after his death anyway.

noyouhavehadawee · 18/03/2012 10:23

well she didnt mean to kill him it was just a tussle where she was saying he didnt deserve it and he was going to whack her one too so she smashed him with the bottle - i dunno it was probably Peter after all.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 18/03/2012 11:36

Well my theory... (not completely caught up on this week yet though so could already know I'm wrong?)

I'd guess that they rowed (Anne and Frank) after she heard him confess to raping Carla. He said something about disowning her and riding off into the sunset with Jenny (maybe something about not needing her anymore and her being too needy and trying to run his life or whatever) and maybe he gave her the watch as he didnt want anything to remind him of his family. She bashes him with bottle and runs off.

I could write soaps me Grin

LeeCoakley · 18/03/2012 14:27

Once it's all over though there's nothing else exciting in the pipeline. Audrey/Lewis = boring. HT and girlfriend = boring, Rita and Dennis = boring, Eileen storyline = boring, Carl and Sunita = extra boring. I suppose Gail could throw a few strops over Lewis but that's about it for me.

LineRunner · 18/03/2012 15:52

God that Headteacher with food all down his clothes storyline is just fecking embarrassing. It's not funny. It's not even approaching funny.

LeeCoakley · 18/03/2012 19:10

I know! And having a slanging match with a parent in the street!

BrightnessFalls · 18/03/2012 19:15

I hate his hair. Julie would never have gone for someone so old fashioned.

Ive only seen the first half of last nights. So far, Ive changed my mind and dont think its the mother.

When did Maria and Carla get so friendly?

whenskiesaregrey · 18/03/2012 21:27

Carla lived with Maria for a bit didn't she? But then chucked her out, but Maria obviously knew what Frank was capable of so supported her during the trial etc?

The HT is rediculous.

I agree that without this storyline, it is all a bit stale.

Is it this thread that I read either Carla or Leanne (or both) discover they are pregnant?

LineRunner · 18/03/2012 21:33

Carla finally believed Maria, about what Frank was like.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 18/03/2012 21:47

Carla and Maria got friendly when Tony Gordon took Carla hostage in the factory.

The headmaster is the most badly thought out storyline since John Stape, Julie and he could have made a great double act if they'd left him as a teacher, but this food caper is ludicrous.

Sunita and Carl are making my skin crawl too.

noyouhavehadawee · 19/03/2012 07:54

Ooo i forgot about the carla and tony gordon story, she knows how to pick em!

whatkungfuthat · 19/03/2012 08:07

IIRC the initial Maria/Frank storyline was supposed to be Michelle/Frank but when Kim Marsh had to start her ML earlier than they expected it was hastily rewritten. Not that that makes any difference to the final outcome, just that Maria was shoehorned into the story.

OP posts:
WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/03/2012 09:02

The whole Maria going from thinking Tony had killed Liam to falling in love with him to finding out he did kill him after all story was highly unbelievable too.

Trevor the binman should thank his lucky stars, he's the only one of Carla's men who has managed to escape so far, Paul, Liam, Tony, Frank, all dead, Peter, not dead but risks losing his son, losing his battle with the bottle, it's not looking good for him.

whatkungfuthat · 19/03/2012 09:16

Carla isn't exactly helping him stay off the booze is she? The caah!

OP posts:
Bossybritches22 · 19/03/2012 10:21

Thats a car crash storyline now isn't it-although I suppose quite a good example of how tihngs go wrong when 2 alcoholics get together.

I've lost all sympathy for Peter now he's just a whingy needy crap Dad who needs to think of his poor son for once.

The Carl/Sunita thing is yuk too Sounita is far too good for him (or Dev for that matter)

Did I hear on the radio earlier that Kev & Sally will get back together again???

head....desk.... Confused

whatkungfuthat · 19/03/2012 10:55

Its not really realistic about Sunitta and Carl is it? He is all the things she hates in Dev and Stella has been good to her by giving her a job and being a shoulder to cry on.

Kev looks more grubby every week, no one else would want him, urgh!

OP posts:
whenskiesaregrey · 19/03/2012 11:28

I'm loving Kevin's jacket, how many years has he been wearing that now?!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/03/2012 11:32

Agree, Peter has lost all my sympathy now that he is blatantly failing to prioritise Simon's needs (even if I do find Simon v.annoying). Poor Ken and Deirdre are going to end up with very dysfunctional grandchildren.

Sunita should never have come back to Dev. In fact when they split up she should have stayed in the Street and run the shop and they should have got rid of Dev. And Amber, another nasty piece of work. There's a real shortage of decent men in the Street isn't there . Chesney is about the only one that springs to mind.

theliverpoolone · 19/03/2012 13:06

Roy's decent, as in principled - just not as in attractive and available!
