I totally agree - they should have kept him as just a blundering teacher. I think him and Julie are supposed to be a comedy couple who we have lots of affection for like Jack and vera, but they've gone too far and he is just ridiculous.

Perhaps Audrey and Nigel can have double wedding with Rita and Dennis

The Eileen storyline is stupid too. Don't understand where that one is going.

Any remaining credibility the headteacher character had, disappeared when he sat scoffing curry and chips from a carton during a doctor's appointment. Like a sillier episode of Last of the Summer Wine.

Why couldn't they give Julie someone nicer? Brian has zero likeability.

Did you spot Frank's Mum's over-reaction when she heard that Peter had confessed? She feels guilty!
About Julie's HT boyfriend - what a plonker! He is bringing the teaching profession into disrepute. No way could he hold down a teaching post in RL.

ooh yes, Rez. She said something like 'how did it come to this?', which isnt what you'd expect someone to say when they'd just heard who'd confessed to murdering their son

Peter can't remember where he was though, and the blood came from somewhere so perhaps someone complains about a fight and he is picked up on CCTV miles away from the murder? I know its likely to be the mother but I'd rather it was Jenny as I'm really uncomfortable with the idea.

I think they want us to think the murderer could be any of those they are airing. They will spring Jenny on us at the end who will turn out to have the most reason for killing him. E.g. she went to the factory and realised he was going to dupe her after she had invested her life savings in his schemes.
