Epidural (if it works) should take away all the pain. Diamorphine/pethidine won't take away the pain, just makes you not care so much.

Epi, if works is all that takes pain away.

My labour was the first time I hadn't puked for 42 weeks. Up til then it was every day all day.

I was a bit that having an epi made her a failure. Hope she doesn't say that in a professional capacity...

You know, people forget that it's often a lottery how birth goes. With mine #1 gas and air, popped out in no time #2 wrong postion, got stuck, spinal block, forceps. It's random, a lot of the time.

Why haven't they got her up on her knees, when that is the position she asked for?

I'm 35, I've got a 14 year old, DH has no children so has almost persuaded me to have another...the twin mum is like a scary premonition
