Dad spoke late.

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 30/01/2012 21:28

in the dad or in the boy (fas)

ImperialBlether · 30/01/2012 21:28

The dad reminds (physically) me of Fred West.

HarriettJones · 30/01/2012 21:28

Having a dog seems v common with the families I work with. They often go out & get one in the middle of chaos. :(

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 30/01/2012 21:28

It is Fetal Alcohol Syndrome

Caused by the mother drinking whilst pregnant.

StarlightMcKenzie · 30/01/2012 21:29

Sensible Paed.

festi · 30/01/2012 21:29

FAS in dad im assuming, I guess he looks a little characteristic, not too knowledgable though my self.

ranteetheranter · 30/01/2012 21:29

They really don't see that that situation is not ok or normal. I feel for the parents but the child has to come first

RitaMorgan · 30/01/2012 21:29

I feel sorry for the parents. They are inadequate as parents and completely out of their depth in this whole process.

I feel desperately sad for that little boy though.

ImperialBlether · 30/01/2012 21:30

I wonder how often the child gets to go out for a run around. His mum doesn't seem to get up off the sofa.

MollieO · 30/01/2012 21:30

Really don't like the way Mike handles his child.

festi · 30/01/2012 21:30

I do feel sorry for parents also, you must consider thier own history and why they lack the parenting capacity

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 30/01/2012 21:30

sO FUCKING PARENT HIM THEN!!!

charity2 · 30/01/2012 21:30

Heartbreaking. I cant see that they will improve, they dont even look like they want to. Poor boy deserves better. God only knows whats going on when the cameras stop filming. The fact that he isnt talking yet and he is quite aggressive speaks volumes (bearing in mind all the other stuff)

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 30/01/2012 21:30

They are just so totally detached from their son's behaviour. Like it has nothing to do with them and they can do nothing about it.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 30/01/2012 21:30

Oh dear God, what an awful situation. Hat's off to SW's. FAS i had no idea.Thankyou.

Charlotteperkins · 30/01/2012 21:31

All in the genes

But do we really think disabled people shouldn't be allowed to have DCs because they need more support?

This should all have been addressed antenatally and preventative strategies put in place.

blueemerald · 30/01/2012 21:31

Throw throw throw hug. Brilliant.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 30/01/2012 21:31

I feel sorry for them.
It doesnt mean I think they should be able to keep the children but I do feel for them. They havent a clue.

ImperialBlether · 30/01/2012 21:32

So now some poor foster carer has to pick up the pieces.

MamaMaiasaura · 30/01/2012 21:32

Poor Toby SadSad his parents care more for the dog. I want to look after him.

MollieO · 30/01/2012 21:32

No interaction with their son even with the film crew there.

RitaMorgan · 30/01/2012 21:32

Why haven't they got him a full time nursery place, SALT input? Surely there are things they ca do while they wait for a court date?
