Kitchen looked ok, fairly new, just messy. Floors still dont look like theyve been touched

Charlotteperkins · 30/01/2012 21:22

I think the mum and kids would be better off alone.

DialsMavis · 30/01/2012 21:22

nothing wrong with the flat if it is taken care of, I have lived in smaller shabbier places but hey have been clean and tidy.
Bed not even unwrapped

RitaMorgan · 30/01/2012 21:22

I wonder if he has a nursery place? I would get him a full time nursery place first off.

beachyhead · 30/01/2012 21:22

Bet that dog never goes out. That's why it craps on the carpet! Poor TobySad

MollieO · 30/01/2012 21:22

Starlight I think the senior SW realises that Mike wouldn't like any SW so no point changing.

feelingdizzy · 30/01/2012 21:23

I used to a social worker, watching this programme I am actually feeling the stress I would have felt making these visits and decisions. Its so hard, god I don't miss it.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 30/01/2012 21:23

I think it is sad that when the dad walked (with the stairgate) in he didnt engage with his son but was able to be loving to the dog and gave it more attention.
What has made him like that?

Charlotteperkins · 30/01/2012 21:23

Surely they should be putting him in a ft day nursery?

AgentProvocateur · 30/01/2012 21:24

Yes, Starlight, I agree. Funding cuts meant that people didn't get enough to really make a lasting difference. Seven or eight years ago, I saw families getting 35-40 hours a week routinely. Now (or recently - I'm not there now) parents with the same level of need were getting 4 hours a week.

DialsMavis · 30/01/2012 21:24

seems like they would rather have the dog than the little boy

ImperialBlether · 30/01/2012 21:25

My blood ran cold when I heard she was pregnant again.

ImperialBlether · 30/01/2012 21:25

He is just pent up with anger.

Charlotteperkins · 30/01/2012 21:25

Could the dad be on the autistic spectrum? Or is his behaviour typical of fas?

festi · 30/01/2012 21:25

starlight, they would complain about any social worker its not possible and very underminding to just change sw without a valid complaint. also if they changed at every whim there would be a lack of consistency and the proccess of support planning would be very hindered.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 30/01/2012 21:25

What a hard job. Poor child.

MrsD what is FAS? please.

he does look like he is caring towards his son

Charlotteperkins · 30/01/2012 21:26

I wonder if he was planned?

festi · 30/01/2012 21:26

what is FAS?

onadietcokebreak · 30/01/2012 21:26

feelingdizzy how long were you a sw? Are you finding this accurate?

Meglet · 30/01/2012 21:26

The dad has so many problems I can't see how you could deal with him. But he's someone who presumably was never supported when he was growing up.

Right old mess. But I can't see how that boy can stay with the family.

MollieO · 30/01/2012 21:26

FAS = Foetal Alcohol Syndrome
