Tracey & Steve, what happens now?

whatkungfuthat · 25/01/2012 09:53

They got married so does this mean that Tracey is now entitled to half his worth? He's just bought the house and hasn't sold the pub and then there is the taxi co and the flat above. I'm guessing he can't annul? This is presumably how they are going to string it out

so far, i've read that ken kicks her out in disgust, so she moves into no.11 with amy, where of course, steve also wants her out.

daenerysstormborn · 25/01/2012 10:18

sorry, not no.11, it's 13 isn't it?

Wamster · 25/01/2012 13:40

I think that he would definitely have grounds for annulment in reality, but this is soapland! Even so, there has to be a certain element of reality in soaps so I am guessing the marriage will be annulled especially as a pub full of people will have witnessed the 'good reason' for annulment.

I've just seen some spoilers on Digital Spy and I think its fair to say that quality-wise, Corrie has peaked for a while

"fair to say that quality-wise, Corrie has peaked for a while" oh poo. Don't really go in for spoilers but as for the quality I was hoping that after this week it was back on track.

Not looking forward to the trial this week either. Dull, dull, dull....

whatkungfuthat · 26/01/2012 08:17

I could be wrong Jilted, lets hope so Grin

OP posts:
JiltedJohnsJulie · 26/01/2012 08:50

Yeah, fingers crossed.

Is it just me who isn't interested in the trial then?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 26/01/2012 09:01

I'm not interested in the trial either, feel very uncomfortable with the way the Sally and Frank storyline is going. I also want Peter to come to his senses and ditch Carla, in fact I would like Carla and Frank both written out ASAP.

I don't know much about annulment, but cannot believe that Tracey would be entitled to anything much based on less than one day of marriage, presumably Steve supports Amy already. Poor Amy, what a family.

wannaBe · 26/01/2012 09:10

frank is going to be found not guilty iirc

JiltedJohnsJulie · 26/01/2012 16:56

"frank is going to be found not guilty". It's all so obvious isn't it? That's partly what I've loved about the Becky storyline, there has been so many possible ways of her leaving, including the fire, but the rape trial just leaves me cold and the outcome, well it's not much of a story if he's found guilty so we've known from the start what the outcome will be.

Really, really hope it doesn't go downhill again, know lots of committed Corrie fans who have stopped watching over the last 18 months, including my Auntie who has watched it from the beginning!

whatkungfuthat · 27/01/2012 11:55

I did like the bit with Ken and Steve lamenting their lost loves over a whisky or 3

OP posts:
LikeAnAdventCandleButNotQuite · 27/01/2012 11:58

I would rather like both Carla and Leanne discovering they are pregnant at the same time.

EdithWeston · 27/01/2012 12:04

Steve is seeking an annulment (and it's totally obvious that he has a strong case) which would mean that the marriage never existed, so Tracy won't be entitled to anything.

I used to describe myself as a die-hard Corrie fan (I've been watching since the 1970s), but at the moment find I don't mind if I miss it.

I want Carla to leave ASAP, and the woefully mishandled Frank storyline to be curtailed. Stella and Carl aren't right for the Rovers - Steve should not sell.

The minor story lines shouldn't keep vanishing - what is happening with baby Joseph, how is Fizz, what's Maria doing, etc etc? They need to keep abreast of things far better.

And we need to see more of Julie and Brian - in fact, regulars on the Corrie threads should be taken on as storyline consultants for them. Kepler them together, and normal(ish) and just use the full potential of their existing characters to deal with the ordinary ups and downs of pregnancy, wedding planning, delivery and PFB.

whatkungfuthat · 27/01/2012 12:05

Genius! If only they'd do it. We'll probably end up with Ken persuading Peter to stay with Leanne because of Simon and Carla hitting the bottle then going on holiday despite being skint a few weeks back, again.

whatkungfuthat · 27/01/2012 12:08

X-post, I like the 2 pg's idea and totally agree with you too Edith. Fiz must be back in court soon, iirc it isn't all settled with her is it?

OP posts:
EdithWeston · 27/01/2012 12:13

whatkungfuthat - lovely post! Especially as it's ambiguous: I think you meant:

"Ken persuading Peter to stay with Leanne because of Simon, and Carla hitting the bottle then going on holiday"

But I read it as:

"Ken persuading Peter to stay with Leanne, because of Simon and Carla hitting the bottle then going on holiday"

and was imagining Brian dealing with an outbreak of precocious alcoholics with a taste for the older woman!

daenerysstormborn · 27/01/2012 12:15

agree the carla storyline is getting ott. factory is on it's uppers, she can't afford to pay staff so what does she do?, jet off to LA Hmm

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 27/01/2012 12:22

I'm like you Edith, apart from university years I've never stopped watching it since the 70's (the first thing I remember is Nick Tilsley's Christening) but I'm much less attached now. If we didn't have Sky+ I would have stopped a long time ago, it's become habit more than anything, then you get an episode like Monday and remember why you have kept going.

Ken and Steve and the bottle of whisky was a lovely touch. I agree they could get much more out of Brian and Julie, that bit at the parents evening with Kylie was a bit silly and a waste of 5 minutes. I'm quite enjoying the Eileen and Paul and watching Jason try to be OK about it all storyline but I wish he'd ditch that jacket.

EdithWeston · 27/01/2012 12:25

I'd be quite happy of Jason ditched an awful lot of his clothes.....

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 27/01/2012 12:29

I meant Paul, but yes, I would agree with that!

whatkungfuthat · 27/01/2012 12:32

commas are over-rated Blush

OP posts:
LineRunner · 27/01/2012 17:10

Ooh, EdithWeston.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/01/2012 18:05

Enjoyed the bit with Steve and Ken too but the bit at the school with Brian, Kylie and David was a bit odd wasn't it. Were did that come from?

Agree that we just aren't seeing enough of some of the other characters and I'll still a bit traumatised over Lloyd leaving if I'm honest.

And EdithWeston, you saucy madam! Grin.

LineRunner · 27/01/2012 18:09

Yes, the whole plotline with Max was quite odd.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/01/2012 18:14

Am out tonight and don't have Sky+ and can't say I will miss it much. Life used to stop for Corrie, but not anymore.
