Tracey & Steve, what happens now?

They got married so does this mean that Tracey is now entitled to half his worth? He's just bought the house and hasn't sold the pub and then there is the taxi co and the flat above. I'm guessing he can't annul? This is presumably how they are going to string it out

Frank - not Curly!

BrightnessFalls · 31/01/2012 16:53

I guess they are going to show the reality which is that it's almost impossible to convict a rapist Sad

JiltedJohnsJulie · 31/01/2012 17:01

"(Yes, I know it isn't actually real...)

Sorry linerunner", are you suggesting that Corrie isn't* real? ShockGrin.

thegingerwhinger · 31/01/2012 17:15

I understand it's difficult to convict a rapist, so they're going with the reality of it. But I just think in terms of encouraging victims of rape to come forward, it's not great. Then again, I guess if someone's been raped they're not going to report it or not report it based on the happenings in a soap.

It's terrible how people are convicted or not based on what is basically a lot of theatrics and story-telling in the courtroom. I have to believe that in the majority of cases they get it right.

I'm thinking that Sally will get attacked at some point then..?

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 31/01/2012 17:29

That is what I heard, plus something may happen to Frank, dont want to go into detail in case anyone doesnt want to see spoilers though...

DH likes to tell me whats going to happen, even though he doesnt watch any of them. He knows exactly what is going on in both Corrie and Stendings Grin

LineRunner · 31/01/2012 18:32

Yes, JiltedJohnsJulie, of course it's real. I was just teasing you.

I agree with theliverpoolone about the pantomime barristers. I've been involved in two court hearings with barristers recently and they acted nothing line the Corrie ones.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 31/01/2012 18:42

I agree also about the barristers, I was on jury service not long ago and the two QCs acted in a much more restrained manner. The judge was down like a ton of bricks on someone whose mobile phone went off in the public gallery too.

It used to be a sort of unwritten rule that no one got away with murder in a soap, Tracey proves that that is no longer so. I hope Frank gets what's coming to him, even if it is not conviction this time around.

Old characters to come back? Karen MacDonald, that would be good, stir things up a bit for Steve, as if he needs it. I was wondering if they will bring anyone back for Betty Turpin's funeral, they haven't written her out yet have they? Maybe Bet Lynch and Alec Gilroy, Hilda Ogden.

Raquel

Thanks for not posting spoilers!

This storyline has been bungled, and badly so. I think the best outcome now is for it to be over as quickly as possible, and with minimum time on screen.

I cannot think of a single current storyline that I like unreservedly, an there are several which are just terrible, as well as factually wrong.

Do you think there has been a deliberate decision to rid the show of its long-term viewers? Bit risky, isn't it?

LikeAnAdventCandleButNotQuite · 31/01/2012 21:01

I want spoilers.......can anyone direct me?

EdithWeston · 31/01/2012 21:25

Google "Digital Spy Coronation Street" - there are outlines there of a few episodes ahead, and usually some cast news and other spoilers too.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 31/01/2012 21:29

Have a look at the Weatherfield Gazette as well or if you are on FB like Coronation Street.

Appreciate the lack of spoilers on this thread too Smile.

LineRunner · 31/01/2012 21:41

EdwithWeston, I wonder if you might be frighteningly correct. How sad, if so.

I do not want another Emmerdale 'Shag'n'CrimeDrama' Farm.

EdithWeston · 31/01/2012 22:02

I do remember when it was indeed Emmerdale Farm. But I've never watched it much.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 31/01/2012 22:39

My Grandad used to love Emmerdale Farm back in the 70s. He would turn in his grave if he could see it now (not that I've watched it for about 10 years, did used to really like it back in the early 90s but the Dingles were the end of the road for me).

Thanks for the Weatherfield Gazette link Julie, I have just wasted spent a happy half hour being nostalgic on there

LineRunner · 31/01/2012 23:08

Joe Sugden used to be a Dales dreamboat.

Now it's all Cain this and Cain that.

Hell, handcart, you know the rest.
