I'm thinking the same thing Saggy.

I'd like to see the father of those children have his say, and I'd like to know if he is paying maintenance, or if he has the children over at his for access??

Raahh · 31/01/2012 21:55

saggy- both she and her husband were done for benefit fraud, as he claimed thousands whilst working,- so I imagine that is why the press are gping on about it.

littlemisssarcastic · 31/01/2012 21:56

Ahhhh, that would make sense as to why the press are featuring them so much and why people aren't happy about it.

Raahh · 31/01/2012 21:56

The father went to prison- the mother got a suspended sentence.

thekidsrule · 31/01/2012 21:57

Hearing of the Yorkshire family dad's past had me in near tears, the wedding finished me off! So lovely to have such a large, noisy, messy, happy, loving family. The Dundee family were the same although I find bedtime annoying enough with only dts to deal with!

Why was 15 year old Georgia doing most of the work when there were older children around? Why didn't they help? I couldn't believe the mum going on dating sites.

edam · 31/01/2012 22:03

What was the Dad in Yorkshire telling his son? Missed that but it seemed significant.

ClaimedByMe · 31/01/2012 22:08

Im just away to watch on +1, the Dundee family live a few doors from my granny!

edam, the dad had been homeless after leaving a difficult family situation at 14. He was getting some closure and took his eldest son with him, hence the ds getting emotional when his dad was describing life on the streets.

edam · 31/01/2012 22:15

Oh, bless him. They seemed like such a lovely family - the wedding was gorgeous. I think they lived near where I grew up - would have loved more clues about their location...

NotnOtter · 31/01/2012 22:25

the wedding was wortley hall Edam

lisad123 · 31/01/2012 22:30

Oh my goddness what a change a nightmare that mum is. Do think the papers have been a bit off with their wording. She wasn't always a single mum, all her kids are by her ex husband (who seemed to do little IMO) but do think poor Georgia was taking on way to much. Have to say I never saw the pregnant one at all until last bit about her being pregnant! Then turns out there are 4 grandchildren!!
Loves the other families though, wedding had me in tears and I want that house!! Stunning!

edam · 31/01/2012 22:52

Yeah, Wortley Hall is near my childhood home, I'm just dying to know which village they live in. Should get back in touch with an old schoolfriend and see if she knows them.

How much meat?!
I buy buy the half pig lamb too and there are six of us but it lasts a lot longer than twice the time it takes them to get through it.

edam - i think they're from penistone article in the sheffield star about them here

Raahh · 01/02/2012 09:36

I've been pondering this thread (as you do)- why was it, in the first episode, discussing the financial situation of the family with 15 was criticised, - yet in this episode, the Yorkshire family's situation was picked to pieces - how could they afford the house?/how much cb did they get/ bet the tv company paid for the weddingHmm etc? Why the difference?

theonewiththenoisychild · 01/02/2012 13:18

I love big familys my sister has 8 and counting not sure she really will stop now but nobodys surprised when a bump suddenly appears Smile

My dp said urgh!!! When he saw the mum who got done for benefit fraud on her way out on that tiny bit of tin foil oops i mean dress mutton dressed as a burger rofl

BrightnessFalls · 01/02/2012 13:32

I cant remember finances being discussed so much!!! Isnt this the third episode?
