Your favourite shows that ended/were cancelled?

Mine:

Brothers & Sisters - I was obsessed with this show from the very first episode and may or may not have shed a tear when I found out it was ending after five seasons. I didn't like the ending, it seemed rushed and story lines were left hanging. Twats.

Friends - Of course. Who didn't love Friends?

Accidentally On Purpose - I'm pretty sure this was cut after the first season so can't have been very popular but I loved it!

Without A Trace - My favourite crime drama, I was devastated when it ended. Why couldn't they have taken NCIS?! Why Without A Trace?!

Eli Stone. Why they pulled it I don't know.

Six Feet Under. I know it ended in a completely non-negotiable way, but I still cherish fantasies about them making a new series. I could watch that programme for ever and a day.

Dirty Sexy Money. A proper guilty pleasure. Think it only lasted two series. I loved it.

FlashForward. Nonsense but v enjoyable. Think they canned it because they realised they were writing themselves into corners they couldn't possibly get out of.

Not cancelled but poached by fecking Sky Fecking Atlantic and therefore lost to me as I refuse to give the Murdochs a penny of my money:

I LOVED Sunset Beach! It was the most hilarious programme. Evil twins returning from the dead, botoxed 'actresses' etc ... was marvelous. Thanks for reminding me. I wonder if its available on a box set?

I was sooo annoyed when Flash Forward was cancelled as I felt I had invested time in trying to remember the studip storylines. Probably a blessing in disguise!

Deadwood.

I was gutted - it was definitely a five series show and it was a waste it ended after three.

...and something that I cannot remember the name of - there were aliens, body snatchers, a big lake, a couple of kids.....something about a virus....main characters were a chief of police and a doctor, and i think the doctors feckless brother was going to be some kind of hero..in fact I think the doctor mum was body snatched???? Gawd, no idea, but I loved it at the time and was really pissed off when it finished.

Another vote for Flash Forward here.

Outcasts. So much potential.

There was a Sci-Fi series on BBC2 a couple of years ago about missions to Mars and Venus, it showed the astronauts training and one got another pregnant then she lost the baby and later in space kept hearing it crying, can't remember what that series was called but I loved it.

Farscape. But at least the fans fought back and there was some resolution via the mini-series.

From my childhood - Tripods, axed before they got to the end of the story. My first sense of betrayal by TV execs.

LtEveDallas - I remember that water aliens thing too, another great sci-fi series not continues. Argh.

ER. It was brilliant even when they killed off my favourite character. I have to console myself with re-runs.

I watched My own worst enemy on dvd recently & loved it, gutted that it was cancelled half way through.

I agree with tigercametotea on Northern Exposure too. I've recently loved watching reruns of The house of Elliot as well - wish they would bring that back.
