When I asked DH which character off DA he'd be....

I go: I know you said she's fanciable. But I asked WHO YOU'D LIKE TO BE. Carson? Branson? Lord Fatty Bum Bum.

He: "Lavinia."

I'm freakin' out ladies, I'm freaking out.

O'Brian is a proper ladies maid but Anna is a housemaid who does for the daughters. If Mary was going to a houseparty then she would probably take Anna as a ladies maid and she would wear a black frock and be called Smith but when Anna is at downton she still has to do housemaidy stuff like fires and waiting on table whereas O'Brian just potters about with her button box.

Finally got to the end of it. Hugely disappointing finale. I will watch the Xmas special with my fingers crossed that Isobel know it all dies.

I actually think that Matthew did really love LAV. And realised he'd fucked it up by having a spot of cold feet. They probably were well suited.

Yes, Anna sometimes wears the same patterned dress as the other housemaids, whereas O'Brien (does she have a first name btw?) is always in black.

Yes, why does O'Brien have to be called by her surname - even Cora says that. Anna always gets called Anna.
