Oh no. Just channel hopping and realised lovely Gareth Malone is doing his 'choir' thing again-and I have missed the first half. I didn't even know it was on. Sad

Me too sparkling. We left England around the time of that hysteria.
The choir have a much better song and cause.

Sparklingbrook · 03/12/2011 08:47

Kreecher we went on holiday to America in 1997 just after all that and the cab driver asked if we had 'got over it yet'. Hmm

We went to Paris for a couple of days. The hotel owner assumed we had gone to see the tunnel 'where your beautiful Princess died".
She seemed a bit put out when we said no.

hanahsaunt · 03/12/2011 13:47

But where can I get Gareth's lovely cardi thing?

Sparklingbrook · 03/12/2011 13:50

Anyone on twitter? They could ask him hanah. I would love one, maybe in red. Grin

I can ask him, I am on Twitter.

:)

Davros · 03/12/2011 20:54

Why is the X Factor charidee song VAT exempt? I thought I heard that anyway, bloody favouritism? Not that it would affect how many people download it but then make ALL charidee songs VAT exempt ffs! grrrrr

Sparklingbaubles · 03/12/2011 21:14

Mme how will you ask him without sounding a bit stalker-ish?

MmeLindor. · 03/12/2011 22:11

Sparkling
I blamed it on you lot.

Gareth, if you read this, they are the crazy stalker women. I am just the messenger.

jcscot · 04/12/2011 00:22

I didn't watch the series because I knew it would be a blubfest and as the husband was preparing to deploy and was home on leave, it would have spoilt the stiff upper lip thing we had going on for the children's sake. Too close to home for me!

He left for Bastion earlier this week, so I can blub in peace now.

I watched the video - what a great job and for such worthy causes. I hope it raises lots of awareness and money for such good causes.

Bossybritches22 · 04/12/2011 00:27

.....and breathe jcscot-hope you have a great reunion soon!

You're so right the 2 charities are very special & hopefully will be well supported by this campaign regardless of the result.....

....which of course will be the biggest, record breaking, No 1 best seller ever in all the universe. Xmas Wink

jcscot · 04/12/2011 00:40

No reunion until R&R in April. However, have Christmas to look forward to and then a few things in the New Year. The hardest thing is not looking after myself (as I'm sure any military wife will tell you) but looking after the children. We have three aged 5, 3 and 1 and my priority is keeping them happy and stable and minimising the effect on them of the deployment. After that, the priority is to make sure that everything at home runs smoothly so that my husband has no need to worry about us and can concentrate on his job. It's important that any concerns I have are not taken out on my children or inflicted on my husband as neither they nor he can do much to alleviate them.

Then, I get to look after me - easily done with the odd glass of wine and a good book.

Hats off to the choir - what a good way to support one another while their husbands were away.

hanahsaunt · 04/12/2011 15:23

And? Source of the fair isle-ish hooded cardi thing? I will happily mop up the blame Grin.

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 16:31

Yes we need to know about the knitwear and where Gareth shops.

yellowraincoat · 04/12/2011 17:11

Hmm have just started watching these, I have burst into tears about 20 times!

And Gareth is SO HOT.

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 17:13

What kept you yellow? Grin

yellowraincoat · 04/12/2011 17:33

Don't have a telly so I don't tend to know what's on unless I specifically look for it online.

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 17:34

Sounds like a good idea yellow. There is some serious rubbish on. Gareth's programme was the best thing we've had in months.

miSaltireandwine · 04/12/2011 18:47

OH dear God, have just watched the video - less than an hour after DH left for 2 weeks intensive training for his 6 month tour of Afghanistan next year. The dog and the DSes are very concerned about me Sad

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 18:49

miSaltire. It's so lovely isn't it? I have seen it a few times now and fill up every time. Real tears the first time though.

MmeLindor. · 04/12/2011 18:52

Jcscot/Saltire
Best wishes for your DH's and all their colleagues for a safe return.

No word on the knitwear. Gareth has not replied. Sad sorry guys

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 18:53

It's going to be a hand-knit, I just know it. Angry

yellowraincoat · 04/12/2011 18:58

Oh Saltire, you poor thing. Snuggle up with your dog n kids x

miSaltireandwine · 04/12/2011 19:04

Thanks everyoneSad. He's not going till March/April but will be away a lot between now and then preparing for it.
I'm just not as ready for him going as I thought I was! Ah well wine and MN should keep me going

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 19:05

Is he going to be at home for Christmas?
