Lurching back in the direction of the actual plot again - TomandChristine, with their deniability, rebellious natures and CIA insider connections are perfectly placed to be called in by Ruth to do Harry the biggest favour ever, so it does make a lot of sense.

DH has just read the very interesting interview with Nicola Walker in the back of the Radio Times. Unfortunately he only got as far as the revelation that she was a close friend of Sue Perkins in their Cambridge days before ....um...getting distracted. He may have made the odd Sid James noise.

What is this 'plot' you talk of? I haven't noticed a plot this series. [hgrin]

I think plot (or, anyway, coherent plot) became optional a couple of series ago.

But why are you all worrying about Harry and not concerned for Ruth, whose life is surely in the hands of the scriptwriters who have gone mad this series

Dh and I are busy placing our bets on who dies

a) Harry - saving Ruth and/or Sascha
b) Harry - shot by Ruth for the Greater Good of the Nation or something
c) Ruth - saving Harry
d) Ruth - despite her lovely make over
e) both of them - with extra credit if it is by the same bullet
f) annoying ending to the series, which sees them walking off hand in hand in the sunset to Suffolk, then a shadowy sniper figure appears screen right, a bullet is fired, there is a scream, a special effect image of shattered glass, with blood on and we are all back on here complaining forever that we don't know who died.

Think I'm erring towards f)

I'm glad we've moved on from shagging Sir Harry. That was getting a bit grim.
I'm a bit meh about Tom, I was really holding out for Adam.

I think it will be scenario F too. Or it will be the sniper but no shot and screen will fade to black, as per Sopranos.

Ruth really is very beautiful in a way that isn't immediate--she has one of those faces that you see more and more in the longer you study it.

PS Did you know that Nicola Walker called her son - born during her career break in series 6 - Harry??

I think that either Ruth or Harry will die. Perhaps Tom will be hired by miscellaneous foreign baddie to kill one of them.

Now If the home secretary can survive a car bomb there's no reason why Adam can't.

But we've already had a Ros back from the dead scenario. I think she is really dead as Harry avenged her death by knocking that guy off with the poison whiskey. As much as I adore her.

I just want Zaf back with Ros the rest can stick it! I only want Zaf if he appears in his underpants. Sorry got distracted. Zaf can sing as I saw him in Bombay Dreams by Andrew Lloyd Webber. So he would be perfect for the final chorus [regains focus]

Apparently Zaf was an exciting prospect as a musical star. Sorry to shatter all your illusions but here he is in all his glory.

They identified Zaf's DNA but he could have an identical twin, maybe.

I wouldn't shag Harry, but I think I would quite enjoy exchanging longingly meaningful glances with him whilst the security of the nation hangs in the balance.
