Bring your notebooks, your whiteboards, your clipboards, your pens, your tape measures and your waterways maps to solve the problem of what happened to Nanna Birk Larsen.

I reckon it is Bengt (sp?). Just a hunch. It is usually the least likely.

Fivecentsplease · 15/03/2011 21:29

Wasn't Bengt tucked up with Lund on that Sunday night, in the opening scenes?

Blimey Wolfgirl. You must need a lie down, now, have a Brew !

Troels is high on my list too (ever changing list, mind you) . I thought a car was seen at the cottage, but wasn't that Mortens? (He must have gone there on Saturday and found T in a mess)
As Troels got a cab there, that also puts the taxi driver in the area of the hunt (though a bit early).
Bremmer seems to represent evil, but as a corrupting force on others, rather than a perpetrator, perhaps?
I think the biblical themes are repentance, temptation, judgment - and original sin - hence the black heart - in everyone.

Fivecentsplease · 15/03/2011 22:02

One last thing, Amir saw a man in red,who saw him and nana leave, but Leon was not in his red BL uniform that night, as he was taxi driving. Come to that, why was Vagn hanging around the Birk Larson place at 9.30 on a Friday night?

The question is, does Vagn's suit have a tail and horns?

teej · 15/03/2011 22:10

mwah ha ha ha ha haaaaa...
five am i luring you over to the dark side of believing the politicians had nowt to do with it Wink

wigwam1973 · 15/03/2011 22:36

Evening ladies
just checking for a quick peruse, but it's taken me ages to catch up. I have been sitting here reading all the comments and genuinely LOL at times. Some of the theories are excellent!

Five - loving the thought of Nanna's face on seeing Holck when she was actually expecting Troels (as Faust). Eoooowwwww indeed. Do you think Holck (Shagabout) used to leave an oil slick on his pillow where his head had been?

Wolfgirl - you must be exhausted after all that but def agree that the other files must be investigated sans delay.

I reckon the passport was in the flat because she couldn't fit in in her globe (all those love letters got in the way).

Drosophila - I am a big Bengt fan (as is Teej). And he doesn't have dodgy hair! Morten's I admit is a bit bouffant (but not as bouffant as Mr Hairspray man).

Oh, and the one person who I've managed to bully persuade into trying the Killing has watched ep1 and says she's not hooked yet and that she found it a bit scary! I ask you!

teej · 15/03/2011 23:04

wigwam well that person can't possibly be a close friend if they don't have your levels of taste and sophistication, can they? Wink

btw at no room in the globe (surely the parents saw a bunch of post arriving for nanna on a regular basis?!)

feeling ill at oil slick

at dros - wigwam and i have beenstalkingbengt developed an interest in sweden and confirm bengt is not a suspect...

wigwam1973 · 15/03/2011 23:06

Indeedy, teej

teej · 15/03/2011 23:07

hi wolfgirl that was my theory about the dry cleaning etc - troels had got himself in a state with the drink etc and his clothes needed cleaned.
morten is his gimp devoted employee so he rushed to do that to help troels recover from his stupid incident.

teej · 15/03/2011 23:07

Grin wigwam

teej · 15/03/2011 23:09

btw five love the "black heart in everyone" comment. very poetic take on it Smile

teej · 15/03/2011 23:12

oh yeah, about leon ...
i think he is a full-time taxi driver, as vagn seemed to be calling him in for a particular "all hands on deck" job. the implication is he "owes" theis but he isn't normally there so does not have that close emotional connection with nanna.

wigwam1973 · 15/03/2011 23:15

You're right, Teej. In future will have to choose my friends more carefully Wink

On the plus side, nearly Wednesday so only 4 more days to get through til ep 17. Not that I'm wishing my life away or anything. Hmm

teej · 15/03/2011 23:18

also wolfgirl holck said he couldn't kill anyone but it looked like he was going for it with lund. his tipping point was olav about to drop him in it re the flat. that would finish his career and access arrangements for his DCs. stopping olav was his last ditch attempt to hold on to everything and it turned him into a murderer. he may also have been a bit loopy with grief; we saw his anguish when nanna said she had moved on - her death must have hit him hard.
however i am open to the idea it wasn't pre-meditated and that he came out of the car park, saw olav and just decided to run him over there and then.. Hmm

teej · 15/03/2011 23:23

wigwam it's awful - wanting to know but not wanting to know, wanting it to end but not wanting it to end Confused
and series II is supposed to be worse in terms of being more complex etc - can you IMAGINE the threads we'll have?! Grin

wigwam1973 · 15/03/2011 23:25

Still think it's odd that he (Holck) called Nanna a whore (or was it a slut?)

teej · 15/03/2011 23:28

honestly think that was shagaround's totally self-obsessed, old-fart misogynist anguish at not only being dumped but having any hopes of getting his leg over again CRUSHED by the new man on the scene. ie i don't think he'd have said it if she had said she was going travelling with a girl friend for a while...

wigwam1973 · 15/03/2011 23:29

Teej not sure my brain can cope with much more complexity. It's been at least a day since my last theory....

wigwam1973 · 15/03/2011 23:33

Ah, seem to have killed the thread so will slope off and check in again tomorrow.

muminlondon · 15/03/2011 23:39

Wow, have been meaning to pop back and say I thought the Cicero post by fivecents was fascinating. But that was 6 pages back. This thread moves fast!

aloiseb · 16/03/2011 00:42

I have just spent my early night reading the last 10 pages....
bother visitors who came Sunday. Nearly as bad as spas.
They didn't even like it either! I put a bit on from Sky+ for them, sos i could get my fix of Lund's jumper. Hmmhph.
anyway, what i would like to know is why did Shgaround have that equipment handy to tie Lund up? he even had gaffa tape to gag her with, and i don't know (or want to, particularly) what he had planned for that black bin bag.
I think he did kill Nanna but I'm not sure about the rapes. Is it possible that she was held in the concrete place and raped by someone with a cold clinical profile (Troels?) and then she got away, somehow, perhaps dressed in something left over from the school fancy-dress party-cum-orgy which looked like a slip, and THEN was caught and chased by the maddened Shagaround? who does seem to be into tying people up and putting them in car boots?

I reckon after Shagaround had done it, he hung around at the airport cos he couldn't believe what he had just done to the one he loved, and got himself an alibi kind of by accident. Was it just me, or did he look wet and dishevelled in that airport footage?

BettyButterknife · 16/03/2011 07:49

Does anyone know about the effects of Ether? That scene where Troels was in the flat with Lund, looking around, seemed to me to hit some kind of spark of recognition in his mind. Could he have been 'ethered' and therefore not really conscious while the attack in the flat was happening? In that case, would his clothes need to be dry cleaned in order for the ether to be removed? Which leads us to Morten...

Back to the red theme, I can't believe I forgot the most glaring example - the red scarf Bremer always wears over his coat. I remember thinking that there's a parallel with the fox they found, if ever I saw one. Also, the red paint the protester put on Troels before the debate, and is Bremer's party poster red? Think Troels's is blue. Red traditionally represents love, blood, anger, danger, warning, guilt, betrayal? All covered so far... eeeek!

KnitterNotTwitter · 16/03/2011 09:49

five good point about Leon being on Taxi duty not removal man duty on the Friday night.... Back to Vagn again? he does seem to live in his red uniform....

teej · 16/03/2011 09:52

Oh! mumin you are quite right - five the cicero link was great. perhaps bremer was taking comfort from the fact that the over-emotional young upstart gets killed off in the end?!
OH NO - troels!!!! Shock let's hope it's not a pointer for plot development Wink

teej · 16/03/2011 09:58

aloiseb is the implication that everyone in copenhagen has that sort of stuff just lying about?!

seriously though, shagaround had had to move out of the marital home, hadn't he? so once again a link to removals - and the fact that removals/renovation work means all the material you would need for tying nanna up would be to hand...
