Bring your notebooks, your whiteboards, your clipboards, your pens, your tape measures and your waterways maps to solve the problem of what happened to Nanna Birk Larsen.

They would be good reasons to Rie, teej, but possibly not 100% normal! It's all about power, for her, isn't it.

teej · 15/03/2011 15:00

oh yes - and of course your point that if he is fallable and she hasn't hitched herself to the new main man then he has disappointed her!

teej · 15/03/2011 15:03

i think holck's point was he couldn't kill anyone until the nanna investigation kicked in - and then he stood to lose whatever was left of his career and access to his children.
in desperation he killed olav - possibly not even in a premeditated way - to keep the link to the flat quiet, and then was ready to kill lund to try and cover his tracks...

teej not surprising really there have been about 100 further theories since then...

KnitterNotTwitter · 15/03/2011 15:26

teej if it is Vagn do we think he murdered Mette too? What would be the motive for that?

KnitterNotTwitter · 15/03/2011 15:28

betty know what you mean about this totally readjusting your TV crime quality settings. New Tricks seems a bit lightweight now... Mind you I can imagine Sarah Lund doing a work placement and taking over the New Tricks team and solving all their unsolved crimes in a week!

teej · 15/03/2011 15:34

knitter i think we are being led to think that he killed mette but not sure about why he would do that. if we assume he came into contact with her when they were helping her move, maybe he developed a fixation on her and she rejected him, so he made sure she was "his" whether she liked it or not.
maybe he does not like independent women - they threaten him and he feels the need to put them in their place?

teej · 15/03/2011 15:35

have to agree - waking the dead was so transparent this week

crunchbag · 15/03/2011 16:21

I am immensely enjoying the series and this thread is great fun reading too :) The best thing is that I have absolutely no idea who the killer is going to be which makes a nice change from the usually crime series.

What I don't understand is why Nanna's passport was at the flat. Did she leave it there when she was still seeing Holck (which seems strange especially as no foreign trips have been mentioned) or was she still using the flat after she broke up? Regarding the latter, who provided the key and the information when the flat was free?

crunchbag · 15/03/2011 16:23

Regarding Vagn, he doesn't strike me as someone who would know anything about pedicures :o

Fivecentsplease · 15/03/2011 16:36

Hi crunchbag - wasn't it Olav who had booked the flat on many occasions for people who didn't turn up - he didn't seem to know who, but had been asked to book it by someone he thought was in Bremmer's office.

The passport thing seems very odd, the more you think about it - did nana go to Latvia, as someone suggested, or was she making it up and had some other reason to return there - if she hadn't seen Holk for 3months, since Amir came back, then why would she leave it till the very last minute? Why would she possibly think it was still there?

If you search hard enough on the net, you would eventually stumble on the spoiler. And, if you are desperate enough, you would even stare at clips in Danish on this video-sharing site. I can't elaborate as Danish isn't my strong point, but it does give the game away although there is more to it than meets the eye.

Roll on Sat (and it is only Tue!) so we can get closer to the bottom of it.

Need another hot toddy now Brew Sad

Prolesworth , just looking back over the old thread, and you said early on that Theis had history with the Turkish landlord, and the turkish guy says " you don't greet me in the street" and Theis says " you know why" - is this another racist thing? Theis not wanting his daughter with Amir?

teej · 15/03/2011 16:46

the passport is confusing me, too. maybe she couldn't find it at home and thought she had left it at the flat?

i have wondered about what she was doing in that flat. if it was just to get the passport why worry about holck tagging along - unless she was worried she wouldn't be able to get rid of him?

oh no stressy! agh am caught between wanting to know what you saw and definitely not wanting to know (esp if it implicates troels!)
Agh!

teej · 15/03/2011 16:49

five i think we have two options - a) the drug guy was targeting Amir's siblings so theis was getting rid of him at the behest of Amir's dad or
b) Amir's dad explained to theis early on that Amir was promised to someone else so he and Nanna couldn't have a future together, so they agreed to keep them apart. Sad

crunchbag · 15/03/2011 16:49

Thanks for the hello's :o

Maybe Nanna was meeting Amir in the flat, but still who gave her the key?

but wasn't amir waiting at the train station or the airport? they had security camera footage of him, as they had of holck so they knew he was a grieving boyfriend rather than a suspect in the case...

Wolfgirl · 15/03/2011 17:21

Hello all. Is there anyway we can watch the episodes from scratch? as one lady said, and as DH found out last night, first 4 episodes have gone (prob more by tonight)

proles have you been rewatching to fill in the gaps in your incident board?!
think i might have to join you!
actually - if you buy them on itunes do you then have them for keeps?

Fivecentsplease · 15/03/2011 17:28

Didn't they imply that the incident with the dealer was a long time ago? And why would thies have dealings with a dealer at all?

We pondered if nanna's killing was a revenge thing for that beating, but it doesn't really fit with any of the city hall stuff.

How come Troels didn't notice the activity in his Boils Dating account - he can't have left the computer on handily on the last time he checked (another Troels exit stage left, as evil do-er appears stage right moment)

But if Nana had met Troels as 'Faust', she would have had a big let down when at the next meeting he had turned into Holck... Euwww ...so that kind of proves Troels had not met Nana before.
