been off work with flu for the past 10 days and just feeling human again so watched marchlands on catch up twice just to get the story in my head

I don't think fil is Alices real dad, but I am def warming to the idea that he's Olives dad. Mil found out when Alice drowned, but is now doing the stiff upper lip thing. (and helped to cover up what really happened)

But in next weeks trailer Ruth (now, off Dinnerladies) says to someone, so you were there? Wonder who she says it to

the only plausible person 2010 Ruth could say that to is Olive, surely?

Yes RH- and FIL financed Olive and her mum to stay in the house, close by. I think Ruth will say that to Olive next week, when she works our 'ASKOR' means ask olive rumpsey!

She'll probably then reveal all about her mother's affair....

I reckon the priest might pop up again in modern times. But it's more likely to be Olive. Innit?

The FIL kept saying he asked Alice to wait for him- do we know where he went?? Perhaps to Olive's house... Alice followed him and heard something (that Olive couldn't hear) and then they had to kill her... or maybe she ran away, they followed her and she fell in...??

I still think she died in the house, probably in the bath, which is why she continues to rattle around the house upsetting people!

I think nasty MIL/ dodgy FIL have something to do with it and that Olive saw it. Hence askor on the mirror.

I think also that Scary Alice should be more afraid of Dean
Andrews wooly chest than she should be of her.

yeah - FIL asked her to wait on the road, as he skipped off to Olive's mum's house.

Alice followed him, saw somethign she shoudln't and ran off.

I reckon FIL chased her, and Ollive followed them - Alice fell, but Olive thinks FIL pushed her.

I think Olive definitely knows something but I don't think had anything to do with it really. I think her Mum knows more I think hence the burning of the 'missing' duffel coat! I like the idea that FIL and Olive's Mum were having an affair and Alice ran off! I'm also certain Olive said her deafness was caused by meningitis.

I don't think she was thrown in the water though as Amy nearly went in backwards tonight (I watched that part through my fingers).

I think that Scott's fits are caused by Alice as she's pissed off-- annoyed that he threw his cigarette end into the lake/burn she drowned in.

Fil knew this, and was just being kind to Olives mum.

Priest was involved somehow with Alices death, and fil knew this (but couldn't prove anything) which is why he didn't think it was a good idea for the the young Ruth and dh to go a talk to the priest(a feww weeks ago)

I am really, really overthinking this, and should be in bed!

I think the priest looks dodgy, but then priests often do in telly programmes.

If he was also 80's Dad's father too, (haven't quite worked out how or with who) (stay with me on this one )
Maybe that's why Olives baby died. Having siblings for parents, the child would be at huge risk of having fatal birth defects...

Mark isn't 80s dad's son, though. So even if 80s dad was FILs child, then olive's baby wouldn't have siblings for parents...

So FIL is father to Olive, and 2010 dad, who is also father of olive's baby born in 1987, that is why that baby died.

80's dad very pointedly said 'when they put my daughter in my arms, etc please take care of my kids in this house'' Are we to assume that 80's son (2000's dad) is natural father of 80's dad, or could he be adopted son/step son?
I think I think I'm thing far too much about this, and the next 7 days are going to drag (I do have a life really)

No no no! You are quite wrong. Ghost Alice was sbdcted by aliens in the wood and was sent to an alternative universe and left there. Which she is mightily pissed off about. So she has found a way of forcing her way back into this one, but only briefly, to cause a little havoc, before getting dragged back.

Last episode she will reappear, older and with an inexplicable French accent,a taste for strong drink and a bad attitude.

I'm all a bit lost now... far too many dads! Don't think I can cope with any more ghosty bits, still recovering (and trying to remove the wine stain!) after Alice's appearance in the corner of the bedroom!!

Am i getting a bit confused with this? Did Ruth (60's Ruth) have a toggle from Alice's duffle coat - the same one that 2010 Ruth had in her hand when she walked past Olive's house at the end of last nights episode? Didn't she ask where Alice's coat was? Where did she find the toggle? Or is it just me missing something?
